Thanks for the support, adeon! I could totally get on board with the idea of getting my nails done when I deserve something, haha. I never do that, so maybe I WILL set that up as a reward for reaching a mini goal. I like your straight-to-the-point way of thinking. I am back! And can’t nobody hold me down! (That’s a song lyric, just to be clear; I don’t actually talk like that.) I need to remember what I have as my signature on another board: “Strive to be just a little more disciplined today than you were yesterday.”
And yep, shinsplint, I walked a marathon! I’ve done it three years in a row, it’s a fundraiser to support a clinic here in Massachusetts that specializes in cancer research and treatment. We started at 6:15 in the morning and finished at 3 in the afternoon. That is 8 and a half hours of walking, when you take out our lunch break. It’s gotten easier each year. The first year I needed help walking to the shower that night. The second year I was pretty sore that day but just had some foot pain for the next few days. This year we were feeling very energetic even at the end of the walk, and I am almost 100% recovered as of now. We can trade for some BBQ, I’d be ok with that! Thanks for the tip on the lettuce, I’ll give that a shot next time I have some. Although I have to admit the mental image I have of someone slinging around a wet head of lettuce is pretty amusing.
