When Your Fat Jeans Become Your Skinny Jeans

I always find weekends difficult, so easy to maintain a routine through the week days but Friday through Sunday night it becomes such an effort! Hope the rest of your week goes well!

My weekends are always my eating extremes - either I'm so busy I forget to eat, or I don't have anything going on so I snack too much.

And I'm ALWAYS low on water! Keep trying to improve on that, but so far no luck!

Even though you might have acheived it unhealthily (not sure if that's a word) it's still awesome!! 142.5 is getting so close to the 130's!! What is your ultimate goal again? Get some water in and take care!

See, I leave and something exciting happens! Congrats on the size 6! :D And I've gone through those times where I dont eat enough, but still am happy with the weight drop even though I know it will probably even out when I start going back to eating healthily again. :)

Anyway, keep it up!

Thanks everyone, for sharing in my excitement!! I definitely need a shopping trip, because all my pants are droopy in the butt now!! I've gained more confidence, but the droopy-butt thing is not helping. I was planning a big trip for after the new year, as my job will reimburse my last semester's tuition once I get my grades, but I think I need some new pants before that.

I have been weighing myself every day waiting for the "Just kidding, you're really still 147" day.... Hasn't happened! I was 144 one day, but back down to 142.5 today. Guess I need to update my ticker at least a little! I'm not sure why it's so hard to believe I could be this weight for real. My lowest I can ever remember being is 140, so the day I hit 139 I will be ecstatic. I think it's mostly hard to grasp because I lost this last bit so quickly, solely due to cutting calories (unintentionally). While Thanksgiving was full if disgustingly large meals, there was very little ability to snack, with the exception of the potato chips in the closet incident, of course. And I've been doing better about that ever since. Tea is a big help, too, I've been drinking at least three big mugs every day at work. As long as I'm drinking I don't want food! I totally attribute the tea addiction to my forum friends, so thank you all!!

I finally got another comment on my weight loss this past week. A good friend's grandmother who I hadn't seen in quite some time said I was looking great. I'm pushing twenty pounds lost! I keep finding myself admiring my stomach in the mirror. I don't notice a loss anywhere else but there, but thanks to those "before" pictures I took, I can see clearly how well I've done there.

I've been a little MIA lately, between school and now being a bit sick. I hope to change that soon and stop neglecting everyone. And START RUNNING! We are officially into relay race training now, I am almost a week in and have done NOTHING, ack!!

Congrats on the loss! You are right behind me - nipping at my heels!

So what kind of tea do you drink? Do you put anything in it? I get tired of drinking all this water, especially in the winter time when it's cold. I'd like a warm drink, but drinking warm water makes me want to vomit.

Did you change your avatar picture??? It looks like you are down in a hole of some sort????

Just went to check what your goal was, didn’t realize it was essentially the same as mine! You’ve met it, now it’s my turn!!! :hurray: I definitely need to think of some sort of reward for when I hit that mark, that is going to be such a big day. My tentative plan is my first ever bikini wax, but I think I’ll chicken out of that one, haha. No food rewards, though!!

I used to drink chai tea all of the time, with a splash of milk. It’s black tea, with cinnamon and other spices. It smells delicious; everyone always asks what I’m drinking when I make it. One time someone had just made themselves coffee, smelled my tea, then threw out their coffee and made a cup of tea instead! Now I mostly opt for mint herbal tea. Especially when I was sick this past week, it made my throat feel better. I don’t put anything in it at all, I think it’s good as is. I’m not big on adding “stuff” though, I’m a milk or nothing sorta girl. I felt like it was an acquired taste, though, I remember trying it once and thinking “ehhh, it was ok” but now I’m never without a cup of tea while I’m at work. And it’s a much healthier alternative than the hot chocolate I used to drink to stay warm, that’s for sure!

Yep, I changed it! I was in a cave! I went to New Hampshire for a weekend a few months ago, and they had all these caves you could crawl through. It was pretty cool! There is one called the “Lemon Squeezer” where they make you squeeze yourself through this wooden frame first to make sure you can actually get through the cave without getting stuck. I didn’t think I was going to be able to get out of that one.

I’m still not eating like I should be! Gosh, what happened to me? I am going back to the gym tomorrow (it has been almost two weeks) and hopefully that will help get me back into a good eating routine. As much as I like this weight loss (I was 141.something this morning) I know it’s not something I can sustain in the long run, nor should I. I will have to put more calories into my body when I start exercising again.

Here’s an example of the lack of food I’ve been consuming. There may have been a couple of small snacks in there that I’m forgetting about, but not many.

Thursday:

Breakfast – Grape nuts and skim milk, and tea
Snack – 3 pretzel rods, and I may have had oatmeal, too.
Lunch – none
Dinner – 1 bag of popcorn, 8 crackers, 1.4 oz cheese, maybe a fudgsicle.

Friday:
Breakfast – Bagel with a tiny bit of cream cheese, fruit, and coffee
Lunch – 2 pieces of bread with butter, salmon, sautéed spinach, and broccoli, plus a raspberry lemonade to drink
Dinner – none
Snacks – Coffee around five pm, and a bedtime snack of a banana with peanut butter and fluff.

Saturday:
Breakfast – Coffee
Lunch – none
Snack – Popcorn (at a basketball game)
Dinner – Pizza. Didn’t even count slices, just ate til I was full
Snack – Coffee (we’re total coffee addicts)

I went shopping again today, for me (I’m not so much in the holiday spirit, I guess, if all I want to do is buy stuff for myself!) I was super pumped to score 3 sweaters and 2 pairs of pants for just over $100. LOVE getting to the register and finding out things are on sale when you didn’t realize they were. I have been searching for the perfect cardigan, and I just may have found it. Unfortunately, that was the one thing I purchased that wasn’t on sale, but if I wear it and find it is as wonderful as I am expecting it to be, I will definitely buy it in some more colors. Even if it is hand wash only, ugh. Oh, and I just read reviews online of a sweater I bought in two different colors and discovered that everyone has said it shrinks drastically. Another “ugh”. The tag says you can machine wash and dry but it looks like I will have to remember to keep it out of the dryer.

Girl, your eating is starting to kind of worry me.... Eating so little and losing so fast is not good for you.

Are you too busy to eat (especially lunch) or do you just not feel like eating? I especially see how little protein you eat. Have you tried adding in cottage cheese at all? You can mix fruit into it if you like more dessert type flavors, or you can put salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc. if you like more savory flavors. It packs a big amount of protein for a small amount of calories.

Take care of yourself!

I know it’s bad, I’m really not sure what’s wrong with me lately! How did I go from snacking like crazy to eating nothing? It was because of being busy for some of the days, then because I was sick and nothing even tasted good so I didn’t feel like eating… That was Thursday’s awful day, I had a PB&J all ready for me for lunch and I just didn’t want it. And some days are just because of bad weekend habits. Man, I never, ever thought I’d need people to remind me to eat better. Oh, I had an egg and cheese sandwich one of those days!! I forgot about that. Hopefully my eating isn't QUITE as bad as I think, since I’m trying to remember a few days back, but even if it isn't it’s pretty darn close.

OK, Tig, it’s settled… Starting with tomorrow, I am getting back on track with logging my meals here!!! I was getting overwhelmed with keeping it in two places, and my obsessive tendencies made it hard for me to stop either. Now that I’m not in the habit of logging anywhere, I will ignore my other website and just focus on this one. My other website isn’t even a calorie counting website, so it’s really useless.

I think in addition to logging my meals, I need to start planning out ahead of time to make sure I’m getting nice, balanced meals in. Tomorrow is a sushi lunch with a friend, and I think I will set out some chicken (we always have a few chicken breasts in the freezer) to make sure boyfriend and I eat a good dinner. Cottage cheese is a great idea, I like that stuff and it’s easy and quick. Added to my to-do list for tomorrow: Grocery store for yogurt and cottage cheese. And deli meat for lunches at work. No excuses! Only finals left in school, and that is way less stressful (for me) than the papers I had been dealing with before.

Thanks for looking out for me! It’s almost bed-time but I think I am going to go try out my new bran cereal with soy milk and a banana before hitting the sheets.

Sunday:
Breakfast ? 1 cup light soy milk with 2 tbsp light choc syrup (105) + banana (est 90).
Lunch Seaweed salad, and I split with my friend orders of edamame, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, a rainbow roll and a California roll. Delicious!
Snacks ?Large coffee with skim milk.
Dinner ? 3.75 oz chicken, breaded and baked, with roughly 1 serving of farfalle pasta tossed with olive oil, butter, garlic, pepper, and lemon juice.
Snacks ?

Exercise ? 3.25 miles on the treadmill. I think it took around 39 minutes; I walked a bit in the middle. Also, all of my runs include 10 minutes of walking (5 before, 5 after). Personally, I was just happy to get back there, I hadn?t been since November 28th, eek! I was all out of sorts, too, because with the relay race I?m doing in May they gave us all iPod nanos and Nike + sports chips, and poor planning meant I didn?t have a playlist ready to use with the program, and then I was trying to calibrate my run because the Nike program thought I ran about .40 miles more than I did, and then the treadmill stopped showing my history before I wrote down my time, and yadda yadda. Basically I had no semblance of my usual routine today. It can only go up from here, though!

OK, it's only 10:54 am but I already feel tons better about my eating and workout routine! I am feeling healthy for the first time since last Sunday (my body punished me for not feeding it, not letting it sleep, and then taking it to New York by giving me a nasty cold that started the SECOND I stepped onto the bus to go home... I swear it knew, it was thinking "Ok, I'll let you have NY, but you're going to pay for it after!") Getting very excited for my sushi lunch, will update my meals as I go along today.

Sometimes its a good thing to turn off the tracking and monitoring, crank up the tunes, and just go with the flow not stressing about how long or far you are doing.
I used to get so obsessed with my time and speed etc when cycling, and i realized at some stage i just stopped enjoying it.
Every now and again i just do it for fun and enjoyment rather than the rest :)

Good to see you are getting the eating back on track! I was worried you were going to start losing muscle instead of fat with such low cals and hardly any protein. Nice work getting back on the treadmill too!! Have a great week!

Monday:
Breakfast ? ½ cup light soy milk (30 cal) + 31 grams all-bran cereal (80 cal)
Lunch ? ½ cup cottage cheese & a banana?.. I was running Christmas-related errands all day, and finally got home at 3:58, JUST in time for my online class at 4. Snacking was the best I could do!
Dinner ? Leftover Thanksgiving dinner that I froze because there was NO way I wanted turkey that many days in a row?. 3.65 oz turkey, 4.15 oz mashed potatoes, 3.6 oz stuffing, and fruit trifle for dessert.
Snacks ? White hot chocolate (160 cal), ? ½ cup light soy milk (30 cal) + 31 grams all-bran cereal (80 cal) + banana

I can?t say I?ve gotten to the point where I can get myself to turn off all the tracking and monitoring yet! It doesn?t help that I am supposed to track my runs so we can properly divide into relay teams at work for a big race we?re doing in May. I do get very envious of people who say they just went out and ran until they didn?t want to run anymore and oh, hey, they didn?t reach that point until 11 miles in. Can't wait til I get to THAT point!!

You sound so positive! That's awesome! And the eating sounded MUCH better!
Good job lady!
It?s probably the protein that?s got me perky, haha. Had some cottage cheese today, thanks to you! It was delicious! Quick and easy snack for when I was too busy to eat lunch.

It was completely unintentional, I promise! But yes, I am back on track now! It felt sooooo good to be back on the treadmill. I miss the sweating, haha. Although my legs are actually sore today, even though I didn?t run too far. The two week break was way too much!! Never again!

Well I got half of my Christmas shopping done today! Shipped packages off to my immediate family (who reside in three different states). I can see how Christmas can get way too stressful for people, all I did was stocking stuffers and gift cards and it still stressed me out hardcore. Having today off work was KEY! Now I just have to worry about boyfriend, boyfriend?s parents, and my secret Santa at work. They can wait until final #1 is done on Thursday. Final #2 is on Monday, and then semester will be OVER. And more importantly, assuming I pass all of my classes, GRAD SCHOOL WILL BE OVER!

Oh I bet you can taste the end of grad school! Good luck with your finals! And you're doing awesome with going back to the gym... I have yet to get on the elliptical since the first week we got it... yikes. I REAALLY need to do that.

anyway, don't stress with Christmas. Everyone should be happy with what they got. Knowing that you care enough to get them something is all they really need. :)

Nyc

And now, a few pictures from my recent trip to New York City! There's me and a giant nutcracker; the tree at Rockefeller Center; and Radio City Music Hall.

Tuesday:

Breakfast –1 cup light soy milk (60 cal) w/ 2 Tbsp light choc. syrup (45 cal) + 1/2 cup grape nuts w/ 1/2 cup skim milk + coffee with skim milk.
Lunch – Ham sandwich with 2.85 oz ham, 2 tsp honey mustard, and 0.7 oz cheese, plus a fat-free yogurt.
Snacks – Tea, 1 chocolate macaroon and 2 small pieces of chocolate candy, and cup-a-soup (45 cal)
Dinner – Herb rubbed Italian style roast beef (385 cal) with 1 packet instant mashed potatoes and 1/2 cup cottage cheese.

Exercise – 5:30 am trip the gym…. 3.6 miles on the treadmill (inc. warm-up & cool-down). 42:40, 380 calories burned. I’m still not fully back into the swing of things, as I walked twice in the middle. I need a bit more structure, I let myself just go to the gym and run, slowly, without any certain goal so I could ease back into the routine, but I think the next gym trip needs to have a concrete plan. As much as I wish I could just run ‘cuz I want to, I’m not there yet!

I am beyond excited about the end of grad school!!! I am not going to know what to do with myself, really. I’m looking forward to sleeping normal hours and to not feeling like I should always be doing something productive. Sometimes you just have to hang out and watch tv and not feel guilty about it, ya know? I struggle with that now. Get on that elliptical! Even if it’s just for five minutes! Is it in front of a tv or anything? I’m not a fan of the elliptical, but I bet you could get me to do it if I got to watch the Sing-Off or something while I did it :) And I know I shouldn’t have stressed about Christmas, I haven’t sent my nephews presents since they were way too little to remember, so it’s not even like they have expectations of me, haha! I should just be proud everything will get there on time, I’m pretty bad about getting cards to people on time, and these are actual packages!

I totally know what you mean about taking two weeks off the running! It's crazy how it almost feels like starting over. The good thing is it doesn't take too long to get it back - a few more runs and you will be right back to where you were. I had to start over at 5.5 mph and am now back up to 5.8 but still no where near 6.2 which I was at! We will get there though - one run at a time!
So excited to have you tracking daily again - I missed it!
