Weight Loss Journal

You look great! :)
I see your progress. I have been to the beach this year (in Mississauga), and trust me, you could definately sport the bikini! :)

Keep up the great work you're doing, and I look forward to seeing more pix!

Hey thanks Wanna be loser... but I definately don't think I could get away with wearing a bikini in those pics.. MAAYYYYBBEE now I could (even though some of those pics were taken like a week ago haha). My stomach is getting smaller and smaller. I am HIGHLY ANTICIPATING my next photo's. I am sooo excited :)

You just complimented me cus I complimented you didn't you? silly boy you are!!! Oh well... now we've put a smile on each others faces :D

Well thanks very much :) it's appreciated... Okay I'm getting the hell out of Downtown T-dot and beginning my weekend!!!!!

NO DRINKING!!! (just a mental note for myself... well I guess it's documented now)

June 9, 2008

I don't know what to make of this weekend. Let's start with Friday...

I didn't work out because there was some stupid shit delaying my train and I got home 1 hour later than usual. I did, however, eat my salad.

Saturday was moving day, so I did a lot of lifting and walking. No 'work out' though. Food was horrible:

4 slices of whole wheat brushetta pizza with garlic dip - 655 cal
3 slices of cheese pizza - 324 cal
1 mickey (13 oz) of vodka w/ club soda - 835 cal

Total: 1800-1900 ish ..........Oh My GODDD!!!

Sunday I didn't workout even though I wanted to to makeup for Friday's loss, but I did walk to the store and back. Food wasn't toooo bad:

1 apple - 81 cal
pasta salad - 492 cal
catfish w/ salad - 270 cal
1 vodka and lemonade - 200 cal
couple bites of ice cream

Total: 1350 ish

Yea so I caved with the alcohol... but I only drank one night... and next weekend, I don't think I'm drinking... AND if I am, my food for the day will be WAYYY better.

So now it's Monday. I'm off to a rocky start for the week. I was locked out of my office all morning because I lost my key last week. The only good thing out of that is that I decided to walk to the Y and get my workout in so I don't have to do it later. I am without a treadmill and a scale until things start getting found from boxes and my mill is setup.

Food looks like this so far... I will update tonight.

Breakfast: Fibre One cereal w/ sliced almonds, and vanilla yogurt - 296 cal
Snack: One egg - 80 cal
Lunch: Salad w/ balsamic vinegarette dressing (calorie-wise) - 130 cal
Snack: One egg - 80 cal
Dinner: ??????????????????

Total so far: 700 cal

Gives me lots of room for dinner.

Nothing else to really add here. Yesterday was the first time I've had catfish and it was damn good. I went to the grocery store and bought a piece that they had marinated in the store with some cajun flavour. Tasted similar to suicide chicken wings mmmmmm.

So I guess when you log your calories from drinking into Fitday you really get to see how it adds up eh?!?!? I really have to work on my not drinking... AT THE VERY LEAST until I lose some weight. I'm not cutting it entirely though.

Haha, not drinking can be really hard to do. Especially when everyone around you is. I went to a cookout on sunday and had a hard time looking at the cooler full of beer. Ended up just drinking like 5 bottles of water though.

I did have 2 margaritas on saturday though. Oh well, ya climb back on the bike and keep peddling right?

June 10, 2008

Wooowwww yesterday was pretty tough. I just kept wanting to eat when I got home. Here is what I ended up having last night:

1/2 croissant - 115
Breaded Cod w/ brown rice and ceasar salad - 410
1.5 dried apricots - 25
2 brussel sprouts - 27
1 strawberry - 5
couple raisins - 3?

total: 585 cal

Bringing my total for the day to 1400 (forgot to add milk w/ cereal) which is not nearly as bad as I thought. Probably because I kept thinking of eating all these different foods but I kept saying no.

Anyways, today I hope to stay more on track and not have those nasty cravings. My meals for today look like this:

Breakfast: Fibre One cereal w/ sliced almonds and vanilla yogurt - 301 cal
Snack: Dried apricots w/ raisins and a nectarine - 223 cal
Lunch: Breaded Cod w/ brown rice and brussel sprouts - 355 cal
Snack: Carrot sticks w/ low cal ranch dressing - 115 cal
Dinner: Big healthy salad - 220 cal

Total: 1350-ish

Once again, I will be going to the YMCA to workout. I don't really like working out there because they don't play any music and I can't do any of my floor exercises. I'm going to try to do my HIIT training there as well.

My scale is at my old house so i have nothing to weigh myself with. This is good because I don't have to be all "scale focused" and whatnot, yet, it's bad because I am in challenges for the month and I can't weight myself until I get the scale back. Oh well....

I used to never be hungry when I was eating 900 calories a day and not it seems like I can't eat enough. I am always hungry every 2 hours after my last meal AT THE MOST! It's good because I know my metabolism is speeding up, but its sucks too cus I fear I will fall off the wagon easier. Just gotta kick the old willpower up a notch I guess.

I think willpower is our biggest enemy!

Someone brought us donuts here at work today, and as soon as I saw them I got up and started to walk over to them. I realized what I was doing and sat back down. Then my boss comes out and says "come on, have one!" Gimme a break!
He went as far as to bring the box over to my desk! Luckily I was on the phone so I dodged that bullet. Since I ate lunch at 1:00, I feel good. I'm full and had a sweet/sour orange to hold me over on my sweet craving!

They are still sitting over there. One of the donuts actually pushed the box open and started jumping up and down waving it's little jelly arms!

Gotta stay STRONG!
You're doing great! (Now just quit drinking! :) LOL

Yea they definately are evil. But as I was saying to big mac daddy today, I dont get the sugar cravings so I'm fortunate. But I get salt cravings. I can down a bag of chips in no time. I can deal with cookies and donuts and cakes cus I don't really like them.

But alcohol.. yes I neeeeed to stop drinking for a bit I think. I AM drinking on Canada Day weekend though. Hopefully not till then though :)

It's good to hear that you were able to resist the evil donut jumping at you though :D

Yesterday was another day at the YMCA. It's not too bad, but I didn't like having to rush to get out of their and catch my train. I did some HIIT on the treadmill... 7 sessions instead of the usual 5 (14 minutes total). This guy came up to me when I was doing the ab machine and told me I was doing it wrong. I was pretty embarassed but figured that he just didn't want me to injure myself. Thanks dude :)

When I got home I made an awesome salad! I added a bunch of random things: hardboiled egg, raisins, and garlic just to name a few. It was pretty gooooood.

Today I decided that I would go to the gym in the morning because yesterday I was waiting outside my office again!! Also, now I don't have to rush to get the train! I worked out for 1:10 hours. I've noticed the last couple days that my stomach was getting flabbier because I haven't been able to do my usual stomach exercises, so today I found a mat and I did those damn things!!! I did them GOOOOD!!

I am not sure if I want to cancel my membership to this gym though. I like it because I dont have to workout till 6:30 at home and there are a variety of different exercise machines to work all of my muscles, but I like my treadmill and my comfort at home. I dunno... maybe I'll stay for another month and see how it goes.

Well not that my workout is out of the way for today (another benefit) here are meals:

Breakfast: Fibre One cereal w/ sliced almonds, skim milk, and raspberry yogurt - 300 cal
Snack: 5 strawberries and 1 nectarine - 85 cal
Lunch: Egg salad sandwich (2 whole eggs, 1 egg white) w/ fat free mayo and multigrain bread - 380 cal
Snack: 6 dried apricots and some raisins - 156 cal
Dinner: Big yummy salad - 200 cal

Total: Approx 1300 cal

So.. I work in Toronto.. populations is a couple million. There are lots of normal people and lots of crazies and lots of gays. It's very diverse. Everytime I'm in the gym... someone walks in and I spend a good 10 minutes trying to figure out if they are a boy or a girl!! Today there was one and I'm like "ok thats a girl" then I saw they had hairy armpits.. like reallllly hairy... so I'm like "nevermind it's a dude". Then I saw them outside and she was clearly a girl!! I was just like "ohhh man... soo effed up!" Not trying to judge or anything.. It's entertaining actually.

Another funny story. So I'm walking down yonge st and theres this old man.. OK picture this. An old asian man.. like pushing 70... holding a cane behind his back... and RUNNING down the street. Isn't that very contradicting???? Maybe he was using the cane for balance or something like cats do. I dunno... put a smile on my face though :)

Have a good day everyone :D

Advice at the gym can be good or bad. Always take what some person says with a grain of salt. They might be right, but check it out. Some times these people with really buff bodies are not doing the exercises correctly and if you were to try it their way you might injure yourself and set yourself back.

I see people doing exercises differently from the way that I do it all the time. I feel like telling them how I do it, but who the hell am I? I'm sure that there are plenty of people out there who don't filter what is going out of their mouths.

Yea I have seen lots of people do things sooo much different than I do them. I know that what I'm doing for the most part is right though... I've never injured myself so why wouldn't it be? haha. I think that guy was watching me on all the machines too (I seem to be the only girl that rotates through all the leg and arm equipment). When I got to the ab one.. he told me to keep my neck straight and not pull it forward, which I actually already new.. but the machine is awkward and I think I had a bit too much weight on it. Oh well, I'm probably going to skip those ab machines all together now that I have a place to do my floor ab exercises :D:D

Nice work! On the food and workout. Keep it going.

October is only a few more months away :).

I'm gonna get in a good workout today!

Hey missy!

Looks like you're doing good! I've contemplated a home gym vs. a gym-gym. I think I like the idea of a gym-gym more- I dunno you get to see other people and sometimes that just motivated you to do better.

However, for the cold Canadian winters when motivation may be lacking the treadmill in the basement option seems much better!

Anyways, just dropped in to say I think you're doing fantastic! Keep it up!

June 12, 2008

Ahhh yet another day. I went to the gym bright and early this morning and did my workout with my HIIT cardio. Didn't do those stupid ab machines, but I did do my floor ab exercises and I feel great after doing them. I'm never going to stop doing them. EVER!!!

It's real great to already know that your workout for the day is done. That's one less thing on the to do list, and a little less motivation i need for the rest of the day.

Today's meals will be as follows:

Breakfast: Fibre One cereal w/ sliced almonds, skim milk, and mixed berry yogurt - 300 cal
Snack: 5 strawberries and 1 nectarine - 85 cal
Lunch: Breaded cod w/ brown rice and brussel sprouts - 495 cal
Snack: 6 dried apricots and some raisins - 179 cal
Dinner: Big yummy salad - 271 cal

Total: Approx 1500 cal

For some reason, I am really discouraged with todays calorie intake. I don't know why... I just feel like 1500 is too much and I'm going to gain weight. I know it's because I have a lot of brussel sprouts in my lunch today. Meh, it's still about 1000 below my maintenance level so whatever (I know I'm only supposed to be like 500 below).

Anyways so today is payday and I'm going to buy a new scale :) My scale right now is off... I think by 2 lbs. Since we moved though it may have changed. I just dont trust it so I'm going to get a new one. I also am going to get an iPod shuffle and it will be my insentive to not drink this coming weekend. If I don't drink, I keep it. If I do, it goes back to the store and I workout at the Y in silence. I am going to get my skipping rope too!! I don't know where I'll skip, but I'll figure that out when the time comes. I want to get a new sports bra but I think that I am going to wait for next pay cheque... dont want to leave myself short changed for the next 2 weeks.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddd I think thats it :)

I was just looking on my Fit day calories eaten for the last 2 weeks and the pie chart is like 30% fat, 50% carbs, 20% protein. I really need to do something to up my protein I think. I want the pie graph to look like an upside down peace sign!

well I just got my new scale and it's told me an aweful truth. My other scale that I thought was 2 lbs off was really 5 lbs off and so now I pretty much start over. Will have an official weight tomorrow.

First off, every scale is a little different. The weight that you lost on the old scale is still a loss. Just think about it like this scale would have read your starting weight as higher, so the pounds you lost are gone. The other thing is, the number is irrelevant. It's only how much body fat you have and how healthy you are. That's your real goal, isn't it? Your workouts are kicked into high gear, your diet is going great. Give yourself a pat on the back. The scale is nothing more then a tool to help you get to your end.

I'm totally with Trops on this one! The scale doesn't mean a whole lot. Keep doing what you do... remember how good it feels to lay back on your bed and be able to pinch less and less fat.... that wasn't fake that was all real!

Oh, and if it upset you enough, take it out on that jump rope. :p
