Weight Loss Buddies Needed - Join to motivate and share your Progress, Tips and make friends

Well. I'd love to join the weight loss buddies thingy!.

As of right now i weight 240 Pounds, and my goal is to lose 50 pounds.. With no time frame as when. But just to lose 50 pounds.

As a small goal. I wish to lose about 5 pounds by 12/5/11

Hey everyone,

been away for a couple of days. back now. I ahve not gained or lost. So I guess its good and bad.

Welcome to all who joined while I was away.

How did everyone's thanksgiving go? I hope noone gained anything !! :)

Keep us all posted and hope we all be good during this holiday season..

I know how hard it is to lose weight sometimes. I'm trying to increase my metabolism and I've been seeing some encouraging results. I've lost 2lbs the last 8 days.

Will keep you posted. Keep the faith!

I'm down to 250lbs...I gained a few after my first post...but now I have changed my diet and started using the exercise bike in my basement (has been a dust collector for a year or more)...just changing eating choices has made a big difference...I'm eating as much as I was before, but more fruit & veggies and cutting out the treats...mostly...:biggrinjester:

My goal is to lose another 50lbs by summer...that will put me back to where I was when I was 20...ultimate goal is to reach 180lbs...

Later.

I also would love to lose some weight. I want to lose around 70lbs is my goal! but i will be happy with 20 :) I have tryed but it seems like i will lose it and then gain it right back... I would love to have help with people who need to do the same thing.

Hi there!

I literally just joined this site but everyone seems so friendly and helpful- I'm desperately in need of a diet buddy. :)

I'm 21 and 5'5"... at my heaviest i weighed 147 (let's just say the "freshman 15" hit me hard)! I have quite a small frame as well; the weight I put on was really unhealthy. Over the last ten months I lost 32 lbs, and now I'm having trouble keeping it off. Mostly I lose my motivation to exercise and don't have enough willpower to make healthy food choices... I would snack all night long if I could.

Does anyone have any tips or a similar experience? I would love to help keep others motivated too!!

Welcome Sydney...some people are just snackers (I'm lucky not to be a late night snacker)...but you will have a terrible time trying not to snack...but make life easier by having a healthy choice available, and don't have the BAD STUFF in the cupboard...I don't know if you are a salty or a sweet snacker, but there are options either way...

the best one I have found for salty replacement is pretzels...they are quite low calorie, so you can have quite a few as a snack and not totally ruin your diet. ( think they are around 1.5 calorie per stick)...

if you are a sweet snacker, try having fruit that you like on hand...cut them up and put into a bowl...grapes & cherries are higher in calories, but most other fruit is okay...

if you are just a snacker...try having some cut up veggies in the fridge pre-cut and ready for snacking on...baby carrots & snap peas are a good combo...

but make it easier on your will power & don't have the yummy snacks in the house...if you have to go out to get them, you will have second thoughts about going out of your way to have a "stumble" moment...

My trouble time is right after I get home from work and start cooking dinner...food smells good and the tummy starts to grumble, having a healthy choice available makes it much easier...most of the time...;)

These tips work for me, so I hope they are helpful for you.

Later.

Hey all,

Just joined here but I'm a Wellness Coach with Skinny's Nutrition Studio out of Mississippi.

I want to offer my help to anyone I can. If you've found something that works go for it.

If you have questions about why something isn't working feel free to ask.

The honest truth is it's not which program you choose but how well you use that program.

Please let me know if I can help at all.

All of my friends can eat whatever they want and sit down all day and stay super skinny, so I've been looking EVERYWHERE for something like this! It's so hard to keep myself motivated all alone. I just turned 18 a few days ago. I'm 5'1" and started at close to 170 pounds in August, and I'm down to 137. Hoping to get down to 120 at least by the time I start college next fall. Ready to start fresh!

Im really new to this thread, i've just joined the forum. Ive been trying to lose stubborn pounds for years, i tried all sorts of diets and weight loss pills but the biggest problem i had was that even though worked temporarily, after a while you'd just put the weight back on. Last month i saw a friend of mine whose lost so much weight, and she claims that its all natural foods and knowing when to eat and what foods to eat with what and keeping generally healthy. She turned me on to www.therealdiettruth.com which gives some great free information in their video and also theres an ebook you can buy. I bought the ebook, its actually really good, so much good stuff on what to eat. Its been three and a half weeks of me following it, and ive started exercising with the friend of mine, and so far the results are great, and i feel better and look better. I hope it keeps up until summer!! I think its a really good idea to workout with a friend, gives you more motivation and you can push each other much further than you can yourself.

hamboud-

congrats on your weight loss so far! that's awesome. it's such a good idea to develop healthy eating habits before you start college... i was one of those girls that ate everything and never worked out but stayed skinny in high school... then when i got to college, it all spun out of control. i lost 30 pounds at the end of my sophomore year to try and "start fresh" just like you. maybe we can help each other motivated! :)

Hi everyone. I need a weight loss buddy to hold me accountable. It's so hard to eat healthy because we really can't afford the veggies and fruit that I'd like to have, and my husband loves to pig out on junk food, so of course that tempts me badly, along with my Dr. Pepper habit. I am a new mom to a 2 month old who still wakes up during the night about 2 or 3 times, and a 3.5 yr old toddler. I am a stay at home mom so I have to get up early to do my workout before anyone is up yet. Which sucks considering I get woken up 3 times a night! I need the motivation to just get up and do it! Hard when you are sleep deprived though. My main challenge is eating right on a budget. And I mean a STRICT budget. Lets face it, healthy food is expensive! Anyways, I lost 25 of the 35 lbs I put on during pregnancy, but still have that 10 to go and I want to lose 35 total by June 2012-and my goal is to run a half marathon by then as well! Did I mention that I have no gym membership either? No money for that either! With so many things working against me, you can see why I need to be held accountable.

My current weight is 183 lbs. I am 5'6.5", and my goal weight is 150 by June, eventually to get even smaller I hope but if I don't I'll be happy with running an actual marathon after I run the half one! Thanks for any support you can give...I live in Texas by the way!

Hey all, im new here too and i often lapse on my diet, i found that putting a picture of someone on your fridge/cupboard that has a brilliant body, or someone that you aspire to be like works wonders, as soon as you go to take something from the fridge, seeing a six pack makes you think twice and 80% of the time ill walk away again. another tip is that if im hungry i drink 250-500ml water before i eat, most times my hunger disappears. this is also a good thing to do before dinner, it often makes you eat less because you feel fuller earlier on in your meal. any other tips you guys wanna share? oh one last thing, add cinnamon to your porridge i found that it made me lose 1lb extra per week because it raises your metabolism! so yeh tips???

Hi Guys, I'm new here but have been battling with my weight for years, I am currently doing slimming world and so far have lost 2 stone. I would ideally like to lose another 3 stone and know that this is achieveable if i stay motivated and focus. any tips would be most welcomed :)

I'm in.....thats why i joined this site.....i need all the motivation i can get....lets be friends, lets be honest, lets be healthier and lets be smaller.

Hi it would be nice to have some buddy's to diet with. I was 161 pounds and 5 foot 6 that was 11.7 stone :/ not good. I had a baby and just put weight on. I'm on a water fast for 15-20 days and I have lost 13 pounds and it's day 6. It's amazing. It has good benefits to it. Basically u are addicted to food and mostly the crap food coz its more addictive. Stopping eating and just drinking water breaks the addiction and you think differently towards food after. I would never touch a mac Donald's again! Nor a pub food place. Over 1200 cals each meal!! Disgusting. Well some people will probably criticise this method of losing weight but personally it's working great for me and I'm not ill.

:iagree: i have tried the water fast diet too, but when i did it i found that it worked best with veggies and fruit added in, i lost like a 3 pounds extra per week, something to do with the vitamins and ions increasing metabolic rate and allowing your body to burn fat. i stayed strictly on water until like day 10 but i stopped loosing. i found out it was because my body thought i was starving... which i was. adding in just an apple or banana for lunch and a pear for dinner did the trick! good luck!

hi guys,

I put on wait when I hit 28 and have never really been able to shed it, until I tried Skinny Fiber. I've lost 19 pounds since December, and that's while eating normally throughout Christmas. So I'm happy with the results so far, and I've had more energy using Skinny Fiber during the day too. Don't feel lethargic or slow like I used to. Couldn't be more happy!

Hi guys, count me in also. I came on this forum looking for people just like me who need some moral support. I have diabetes and am slightly over weight. I need to lose about 50 lbs. Good luck to all. Here's looking at a thinner us.
