Hi all!! This is a great idea...weigh in on Monday mornings and get some moral support through the group...
Anyway, back in July I was at the peak of my weight...277lbs(125.6kg) and at 5'11 (180cm for the metrically inclined) that's 100lbs (45.4kg) over the suggested weight for a healthy BMI...so needless to say, there is room for improvement...
In September, I started to get really thirsty and began drinking a lot of water, 3-4 liters (1 gallon ish) per day...so I went to the doctor to find out if something was wrong...there was...my fasting blood glucose was 14.6, which is between double and tripple where it should be...long story short, at the end of October I found out that I have Type II Diabetes, which was a bit of a relief because I had noticed a loss in weight without noticing a change in diet or exercise (turns out the weight loss was due to the water which curbed my snacking habbit)...kinda sucks, but so far it is one pill three times a day...the big change is in my personal diet. I am keeping up with the water intake, though not quite as much, and I have cut off snacking on junk after work. Instead I have a container of lettuce, snap peas & shredded carrot that I can quickly grab a hand full and put into a bowl for a snack...plus drink a glass of water...it is helping, since I am now weighing in at 255lbs as of last night. Even better is my blood glucose before bed last night was 6.2, in the normal range...

...my diet issue is eating after work.
I am the cook in the family, so when I get home I need to start preparing dinner. As it cooks, it smells so good that I tend to want to eat something, so I have that container in the fridge and I bought myself a water cooler...I also don't allow myself to eat after 8pm. Now I have to do some recipe research so that I can come up with some nice tasty choices instead of bland (provided the wifey and daughters will eat it, so nothing too out there

)
The other issue is that my job has me travelling quite a bit, which means eating out quite a bit. You really have to watch what you order, since even a salad at a restaurant is not really low calorie...with all the cheese and dressing, meat added with garlic bread...just have a steak and veggies, it's probably lower cal...
Anyway, I've rambled enough...I'll keep updating every Monday...
Later.
