college stress? Check! Scale stress? Check! Smoking stress? Not anymore.... but it wasn't that long ago...

Hey Amanda... Take a deep breath and relax hun... take a coupld days for yourself if you can during your break before you start stressing out over school again.

BTW, there is never a time where stress is NOT going to be a factor when quitting cigarettes... You have to make the decision to do it when it is right for you.

The only thing I urge is that you do it sooner, rather than later in your life. I did it for 25 years and it is costing me dearly now.



Yes I have stress.. and I know lots of other ppl have more stressful things going on and I don't like to have pity parties for myself.. but I just can't find a good way to deal with it yet.. and thats the thing about my break I thought I would have time to calm down but I have been SOO Busy since it started.. Tomorrow I get a day off but I have so much today and I just don't know how I'm gonna get all that done.. ugh.. and yes quitting smoking will never be easy but after school is over this semester I will have a lot less stress so I think it will be a little bit easier then.. So I'M QUITTING THIS SUMMER!! FOR SURE!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for the advice! It means so much!!

Thanks Relly!! I just need to find time to deal with things I guess.. Idk what's going on with me.. I'm never the one that's usually stressed out.. but this semester has just got me crazy!! I need to figure something out!! and Yes I've been looking for you on mess but haven't seen you lately.. and I've just been too busy to get on much too.. and yep I'm a smoker have been for like 5 or 6 years.. and need to quit.. Thanks for your post!!

I think the first thing you need is a long nap...That always works wonders. Then pick one little thing that you are worried about...Just a little one and do something to make it better...Then you will feel better. Then you may feel like adressing another thing or you may need another nap. Just baby step yopurself to a better place friend. Dont neglect your health. (mental and physical)

I do need to take baby steps but my stress thats really getting to me is from school and thats just never ending.. everything else I can usually deal with.. I just have to start somewhere and soon... And I'm gonna work on taking that nap.. lol thanks Brawny!!
 
Just use the time between now and then to mentally prepare yourself for quitting! That's what I did. Plus for a month and a half or so, I would consider myself formally quit even though I was still smoking here and there - sometimes 2 cigs in a day, sometimes a whole pack but the next day I'd start fresh as a nonsmoker. Its the same as diet, if you mess up, you brush it off and start new. You can do it! :)
 
Thanks Gen.. I'm gonna try to prepare myself for the summer and I'm cutting down now.. I smoke a pack a day so I'm trying to decrease that before summer so it will be bit easier..
 
Well doctor called me today and my thyroid levels are low again so they decided to double the dose.. I hope that helps me.. I think that could be the reason I've been so tired lately.. anyways I need to get some stuff done and get something to eat.. I'll be back on later..

Well today was good not eating I ate like shit but it was a good day.. I changed my major today.. I'm still kinda nervous but I'm really happy about it! And it makes me feel relieved!! I changed from nursing to psychology.. I love the human mind.. and I've always wanted to do psych but changed my major so I could make more money and that was a bad idea bc I wasted a lot of time.. but oh well I learned a lot! But this 8 weeks I'm taking some tough classes I'm taking Educational Psychology, Soical and Political Philosophy, and Biomedical Ethics so it should be fun.. and a bit challenging but I'm up for it but anyways thats it for now.. :)
 
Thanks Tru!! I do feel a lot better now!! And happy to know that I'm gonna get to do what I love but it's going to be several years before I get there.. but it's worth it!! And now that I have this changes I think everything else in my life will fall into place.. :)

Well my mom was supportive and said she knew I would go back to psych in the end.. lol and everyone else has been supportive so far but I haven't told many ppl yet

Yes I do agree.. I think a lot of ppl start off that way.. but we have to do what we love and we'll never work a day in our lives.. :) and I think it's going good so far... but I need summer to be here so I can rest for a little while.. hope all is while with you too! :)

With the new classes, still babysitting, and I just started a new job as a waitress.. and I've been busy.. kinda down lately bc I have so much going on.. and I really need summer to get here bc I need a break from school!! I have 5 weeks left this semester so not too much but I need it to be here now.. and I have a lot of stuff to do at school .. its never ending.. but anyways I wanted to say hi!! I miss you too.. Well I'm back again.. I don't know where to start but the past is the past I'm not worried about my mistakes I just need to change them.. I'm gonna starting eating healthier and just hit the exercise hard!! And try to get a the first few lbs off and then hit the diet hard. Exercise has worked for me in the past and I need to get this weight off now I'm 22 and still have my whole life ahead of me why not make it better!!

I'm trying to quit smoking so that's gonna make it hard but there's no time like the present :)

I'll get all my measurements and weight record after TOM leaves..

Hope some of my old friends are still around :)

Hey... I know how you feel... i have been totally slacking since school has been out... i have my daughter all day and now have pretty much no time to myself so excersize as been sparse at best lol. I really need to learn how to make time since this year she'll be doing mornings, and while shes gone ill have my little one and when nap time finally gets here i'll have her... I'm really missing that alone time :(
Anywho... for some reason on top of that I havent really been counting my calories or anything just mostly controlling how much I eat (sometimes :S). Basically right now I've been maintaining a weight between 174-171. I should be glad I'm not really gaining but at the same time maybe thats what I need to get my butt in gear. I'm hoping hanging around the WLF again will help bc I keep telling myself, ok starting today your going to count calories and work out and the morning goes well then by dinner all bets are off... sigh... lol well best of luck to ya! And thank you... your journal update sent to my inbox this morning has set my motivation for the day :)
 
Yes I would imagine it would be hard with little ones because your always busy with something.. I don't have any kids but I live at home with my mom and have 2 little brothers that I'm contasting doing something for or with them. And after my school let out I started slacking too life just gets busy and I give up. I haven't been doing anything at I gained like 10lbs like 2 weeks after I stopped exercise but have maintained that weight for like 2 or 3 months idk how long it's been since I stopped. But I really need to do this now I'm really down about the way I look and need to change that!! But I need to get to bed and I'll try to stop by ur diary soon!! Thanks for visiting mine :)
