Well I don't know where to start...

I've decided to start yet another diet and this time I'm not giving up until the excess pounds are gone!! I've struggled with my weight my whole life.. in high school I got down to about 165lbs.. I felt good than but being in high school -- just an age thing I guess -- I still thought I was fat.. Now I've been looking at old photos and realized I looked pretty good.. and I don't know how I ever myself get this way.. I don't even look like the same person anymore.. It's never hit me like this before.. I'm hoping thats a good thing and I won't give up like every other time...

So here I go again! I'm doing weight watchers.. I've done it before when I was in high school with amazing success! I'm hoping for the same this time... Anyways it's my first week.. I'm on day 3 and so far so good.. and it's going to stay that way..

My food intake today:

Breakfast -- grapefruit
AM snack-- yogurt
Lunch-- roast beef sandwich on wheat and wheat-thins.
Afternoon snack-- granola bar
Dinner-- chicken noodle soup

I need more vegetable.. It's my first week I'm still working out the flaws.. I just wanted to get started and not postpone if I didn't have too.. I haven't started exercising either.. I plan on starting next week.. Just plan on walking at first as much as I can.. A mile is my first goal.. then go from there.. I want to hit this hard.. anyone have suggestions on other exercises?

My goals..
I weigh 241lbs now and this is my all time high and I hate it!

My goal weight is to get to 140 or 150lbs (whatever puts me in a size 8). I don't want to be a stick, I still want curves. I still want my boobs, hips, and butt -- just a smaller version.. lol

My first target weight is 220lbs.. I want to get the first 21lbs off.. and I hope to reach this goal by Christmas! I think its possible.

My second target weight is 199lbs.. Everyone wants to get under 200lbs and into ONEderland!

My third target goal is 180lbs.. I hope to be reaching this goal by late spring. And after this goal I'll re-evaluate. And set up new goals...

Day 4

Well today didn't start off that great... I didn't sleep much the last night.. maybe two hours tops! And I work up late, didn't have time to eat breakfast or make my lunch, and I was late to work... I hate it when my day starts off bad! But anyways I grabbed a couple garnola bars and took them w me.. I had one for breakfast (its better than nothing).. and the other one around 1.. after class today I went to subway and got lunch.. I got a roast beef sandwich on wheat w pickles and baked lays chips... then I had to go back to work.. and then I came home and took a nap seen I was so tired w/o sleep last night.. when I woke up and had a bowl of cereal for supper.. I also picked at what my family had for supper.. I am mad at myself for that too!! But I didn't eat a lot... I probably just went about 5 pts over for my day.. and on the flex plan we have an extra 35 points a week to use whenever you and if we chose too.. and so far I haven't used any this week.. So it shouldn't hurt too bad.. but I just can't let myself do that again! SOOO over all not a bad day.. tomorrow will be better!

And on a side note I found out I got an 88% on my Algebra test.. not too bad.. i only need 2 points for that to be an A... so if we get curve more than likely I'll get an A.. I also found out I got a 100% on my psychology test.. go me.. I was happy with that!! and I also found out I got a 9/10 on a chemistry.. and the only reason I didn't get a 10/10 was bc I made a goofy mistake!.. but that's ok.. I'll do better next time!! Until tomorrow.. Hang in there!!!
 
Day 5

Well day 5.. ok.. not great.. I didn't really mess up but still wasn't great.. I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast then worked all day.. didn't get a chance to eat again until about 8 tonight and then I went out to eat with my family.. we went to cracker barrel.. I didn't mess up too much.. if all.. i'd only had 4 points today until my dinner and I had 24 to use so I doubt I went over.. I choose healthy foods.. but I'm scared about this weekend.. I'm going outta town to visit some friends this weekend and I'm going to be gone until Monday.. So I won't have my food w me.. I'm going to take some healthy snacks with me but when its comes to meals idk what I'm going to eat.. I'm take my dining out guide w me and just choose healthy foods so I don't screw up completely.. but I've had this weekend plan for about a month now.. so after this weekend.. no more excuses.. I'm going to stay in my points as best as I can.. but on the flex plan on ww I have an extra 35 points and I haven't used any this week.. so I should be ok.. I'll just go to subway this weekend.. it's healthy! So I will not fail! Until next time.. Don't give up!!
 
Hey Amanda!

You seem to be doing well! Don't worry about this weekend. If you believe you can do it, then you CAN do it. I'm sure there will be SOMETHING healthy for you to eat. Subway is a good way to go :) If not, no worries. This is a lifestyle change and we're all bound to have "down" days. It's okay. Just don't give up and get back on it!

Day 7

Well tomorrow is my weigh in... Idk how it's gonna go... this weekend didn't go as planned.. eating-wise... this my extra points i think i probably stayed within my points.. but I'm anxious to weigh-in in the morning.. short post i need to go to bed.. until next time
 
Day 8

Well I woke up late today, so I didn't get to do my weigh-in today, so I'm doing it tomorrow.. but today was a good day I didn't mess up at all!! I feel great!! But after some thing with my goal I have decided to set a new goal of 165lbs my losing weight ever was about 155lbs but I stayed at 165lbs pretty much throughout high school, so for the time being my goal weight is 165lbs. I was happy at that weight and it makes my goal to lose 75lbs that seems like a much more obtainable goal at this point... once I get to 165lbs I'll decided if I want to lose more or just tone up from there.. So anyways.. I'll be posting my weigh-in tomorrow.. I'm attaching a couple pics from when I was at 165lbs for motivation!!

Hey Amanda!

I think 165lbs is good for you. You look AMAZING in those pictures. I originally set my goal to 120lbs but I liked the way I looked at 130lbs so that's my goal. Once I get there, I can decide from there. Remember: one day at a time.

Let us know how the weigh-in goes! I'm sure you'll do fine :)

Welcome to the forum. You've certainly started a great life change. My wife does WW too and it has worked for her. It even inspired me to get fit again (felt bad that she was looking great and I looked like a slob).

You look great in the photos! What an AWESOME idea to use them as a goal. I keep a photo of my wife and I (when we were in good shape) in front of the treadmill in our house. If I get a bit tired, I see the photo and give an extra 10%

Well I had my weigh-in this morning.. and it was pretty good actually.. I LOST 5 LBS.. woot woot.. and I also lose 6.5 inches!! Even better.. so even with my week not being so great I still did ok.. It makes me want to try much harder!! So I'm at 236.. My first goal is 220lbs.. thats 16lbs away!! Seems like its getting closer.. and I want to try and get the first 20 off by the end of the year I think it's possible I still have 2 whole months!! But they do happen to be the 2 months people eat the most in!! Self control must get me through!!!

Thanks, I was trying to think about the best way that didn't make me feel like my goal was impossible and 165 is what I was at most of high school.. I think I got to 150 for a lil while but just a couple months.. So my goal it get to 165 seems like the best right now.. now that's 71lbs aways just seems much more reasonable.. and once I get to that weight.. I'll decided what I'm going to do.. And how tall are you?? and what size do you want to get too? And do you have a diary thread? if so what's the name so I can come and post every now and then to make sure you keep your head up!!

Thank you as well! I have done weight watcher before and loved it.. but when I was using it then I only needed to lose like 25lbs and it came right off.. but over the past few years after my big gain i've tried lots of different diets and now seem to work or they work but are tough w my schedule and weight watchers worked back then why not now.. lol and yes I wanted to post pics of what I know I used to look it so I know it is possible to be there.. lol ... I also made a bulletin board in my room and posted a lot of old pics and quotes and goal weight really big in the middle something I can see everyday!! lol and a pic of your wife is a great idea too!! for me I don't have a special someone perhaps if i did I would do what you were doing... makes you want to try harder to impress that person!! and what thread do you post under(like your diary thread)?

Looking at that each morning will be so good for your commitment to this great new healthy life you have chosen for yourself.

I keep a diary called "140 days to the new year" or something like that... I can't quite remember LOL I update my diary at the end of each day, every day. I have to do this routene to keep me motivated; Sort of like an end-of-day evaluation. If you click on "weight loss diarys" mine should be somewhere on the first two pages ;)

You just keep focussed on your goal, and keep updating your journal so we can see how your journey is going. One day at a time!
 
Ah, just looked at my journal's name and is called "Stage 1: The long road to the New Year". I picked that randomly back in August when it was 140 days away from New Year.

I was close! LOL
 
Day 10

Well today I got to sleep in!! First time I haven't had to be up at 630 in like 2 weeks.. expect for Monday when I overslept til about 730.. lol anyways I started my day off right!! I had class all day and then went to work.. then went out to eat with my sister at the mexican resturant and now I'm here..

Food for the day:
Breakfast: Oatmeal to go bar (half of it).. 1.5 pts
Lunch: slice of cheese pizza.. 5pts
Supper: taco salad, side of rice and beans at half of them)... about 14 pts.

Ok so 2days food wasn't great.. but I stayed in my points.. and the day isn't over so I'll probably have a snack of some kind.. bc I'm going to be up late.. I have a chemistry test tomorrow and I have to study!! So that being said... I need to get to it!!

Heya Mandy! (I saw your cake LOL)

Great to see that you are not depriving yourself of yummy food (Pizza). That is the best thing about the WW program! It really would help if you had a small pocket pad that you could jot down your food intake. It helps as all those 'snacks' add up at the end of the day.

Do you like mushrooms? I just got back into them bigtime! I stuffed them with onion, garlic etc and baked them for last nights dinner. They were so filling and cost me less that 50 callories!!! Just a thought ;)

Have you done some exercise today?? Perhaps a quick walk around the block??

I absolutely LOVELOVELOVE the bulletin board you made. HOW ENCOURAGING. I have a small health collage I made and a health calendar but I like your idea a lot more. I don't think I'm going to buy a bulletin board but I think I'll do something similar on a big poster board. I hope you don't mind me stealing your idea! That is sooooo encouraging. Great, great idea :)

I agree with 140days. It's good you aren't depriving yourself of yummy food. So what if the food wasn't the most healthiest...you stayed within your points! That's all that matters :)

Day 11

Well I had my chemistry test..:ack2: not to sure how that went.. but I'll find out tuesday.. hope it's not too bad.. I'm tired now b/c I didn't get to sleep a lot last night.. bc I was stressed about that test!! but anyways.. food so far today hasn't been good.. I've had half an oatmeal to go bar and some cheese its.. I didn't have time to fix my lunch so I'm waiting.. I won't get to eat til 5:30... I hate not eating all day.. but I have to get on track!!

I haven't messed up but I'm slacking.. and I do like mushrooms (usually only deerp fried or stuffed with cheese.. lol but I haven't tried them stuffed w anything else) and no exercise.. I was too busy yesterday studying.. I barely left my room.. and maybe today.. it feels great outside.. But I have already decided I'm exercising on Sat and Sun bc I dont have school or work those day and no excuse!! So hoping it gets better..

Thank you!! I'm glad you like my board!! I spent a lot of time on it.. I thought the flashier the more I'd look at it.. lol And it does help I see it everyday I usually stand in front of it for like 5 mins a day.. and it does help.. makes me want it more!! and of course Idc if you steal the idea.. lol What's your weight now?? Have you lost much?? What do you do (like diet wise)? and thanks I'll find out about the test tues.. i hope its decent.. and I'll try to find your thread and starti posting.. Hope the results of the chemistry test are good. I did 3 papers in chemestry at college! I can barely remember a thing, but I can still rattle of the first 50 elements in under 1 minute :D

Never mind about thhe lack of exercise yesterday. This plan is one day at a time. Tomorrow(today) will be much better!! Dedicating some time in the weekend is a great idea! Why don't you decide what you are going to do and let me know, that way I can keep harrassing you until you do it LOL

Dang Amanda. Your days are LONG. I don't know how you can get any exercising in at all. How do you work 2 jobs and go to school?!?!? I did that for a few weeks and I was sooooooooo drained. Major kudos to you! I weighed in at 182lbs earlier today but IDK how accurate that is. On Monday I was 185lbs. I try to only weigh myself once a month. I was just really curious once I was done working out. BUT weighing yourself right after you work-out is not accurate. My OFFICIAL weigh-in is on November 9th. I can't wait!!!

Diet wise - I've just cut back on my intake. Before when I ate, I ate the calorie intake for 2 people at least. It was ridiculous. Now I calorie count and cut out all junk food from my diet. I actually just had pizza (first "yummy" junk food) tonight after over half a month.

You're doing great so far Amanda! :)
