We are what we repeatedly do...

Woo!! No longer obese!!!

Just overweight! lol... In seven weeks I've lost 16lbs and I'm back to being under 12stone, which makes me feel a bit more comfortable with my body - I didn't feel right at all being so close to 200lbs/14stone.

I can't wait til I'm under a BMI of 25 but I'm happy with less than 30 for now.

I've been craving junk lately and it's getting difficult to resist. I think it might be due to the fatigue of being on my feet all day long 5 days a week. I'm not used to it and I kinda want a pick me up I think. I'm not sure what to do, I'm trying to ride it out at the moment but I might give myself a cheat meal one night if it carries on much longer.

I best go shower now.

Congratulations!!! I remember hitting that point, isn't it exciting? Good for you!

If you are craving junk just because you are craving junk, then go ahead and have a free meal and see if that helps. But if you think it's because of being on your feet all day causing low energy, try some fruit. The sugars are longer burning, so to speak, so you won't get a sugar high, then a huge crash. (Which causes more snack cravings - wash, rinse repeat...)

Sigh, oops, maybe I'll be obese again tomorrow seeing as tonight I slipped up a little. I went out for an impromptu dinner with a friend and had a large pizza and an enton mess pudding. Sigh!! I had a healthy breakfast and lunch (800kcal total) so... at least it wasn't a full day off. I guess it'll just set me back maybe a week tops.

I'm going to try and eat 1200-1500kcal tomorrow and do an hour's exercise to get a head start on burning off the excess.

And now I can't say I haven't had any junk recently (though this wasn't exactly junk, it was a nice restaurant) so I best buck up and keep things on track at least until Saturday 27th, when I'm celebrating my birthday (not actually my birthday). I'm sure I can survive 2 weeks!

I think I'm gonna have to put more effort into keeping my calories in check in future, I've been kinda sloppy since I began placement and I think I'm using it as an excuse. Though I have still been losing 2lbs a week so things aren't that bad.

Anyway I'm totally ranting now. I'm gonna try relax and get on with things.

Hi Holly,

Just a quick message to say you're doing brilliantly. The amount of exercise you've been doing is inspiring!! Keep it up and really well done.

Sare

P.S. I'm also a fellow Brit =)

Thank you Sare!

Well I weighed myself this morning expecting to be back over 13 stone due to the pizza splurge and guess what? I've gained nothing! Aweesssommee!!

Although I realise it's still gonna take a few days to get back to a calorie deficit overall but hey ho such is life.

I'm gonna go for an hour long bike ride soon to kick start things.

I'm also going to try a lot harder this week to be more consistent, especially with my exercise.

Anyway, not much else to say!

I ate just over 1500kcal today and burnt about 1000kcal on an 1hr10min bike ride, so I feel like I've made up a little for yesterday's misdemeanors.

Wow, you are on fire!! Your exercise regimes really are amazing. I wouldn't be able to do a 10 minute bike ride, let alone 1 hour 10 mins!! Where'd you get your heart monitor thingy from?

Well done for today's efforts!

Yeah that's really good Holly. You're making me feel terrible hehe, I'd better get my ass in gear to keep up with you! x

Thank you everyone, though I did kinda do an hour plus because I felt like I'd let myself down the previous week.

Sare - I bought my polar heart rate monitor from Amazon, I got the basic cheap model and honestly it's been money well spent - it's really motivating for me to know exactly what I've burnt and how my heart rate has been affected by increasing exercise etc.

I also love it cause I'm a geek haha and I just like to know about that kinda stuff.

Roy - the exercise points and good deeds were part of a challenge I was taking part of that ended yesterday. We got one whole point for an hour of exercise and a half point for 30 minutes. Then we got an extra bonus point for doing a good deed each day, which had to be something kind you've done for another person(s) that would not be usual for you to do. Does that make sense?

If you have the time and inclination to take part in one of the forum challenges then I recommend it - it has been so motivation for me and it really has boosted the amount of exercise I've done in the last 6 weeks.

Anyhoo, I'm aiming for 1500-1600kcal today again and I'm gonna go do a 30 minute run now. I haven't been running in ages, mostly cause I've found I enjoy cycling more and I'm more likely to get out and do my exercise if it's cycling than if it's running but I want to make the effort to do something that's more challenging today.

Hope you guys are all having a good day too :)

Burnt 580kcal on a 35 min walk/jog/run (most accurate name) and ate bang on 1500kcal so I'm very pleased with myself.

Tomorrow I'm aiming for around 1500kcal again, 1hr20mins walk and 30 minutes weights.

I have two new mini goals of being 12 stone 7lbs by the end of september and 12 stone exactly by october 23rd. I will be so excited to be under 12 stone again. 11 stone 4 was my lightest weight and it will be so great to be near that weight once more.

Bring it on!

Oooh I may just have to invest in one of those monitor things! And you're not a geek - I'm really interested in that kinda stuff too! Or maybe we're both geeks? Haha who knows!

Great job today - and good luck with getting down to your 12.5 stone mark and 12 stone mark! I'll be checking in to see how you do!!

Sare xx

I've found the challenges a huge help as well. I found I was a lot more likely to get up and exercise when I really wasn't in the mood and to stay for an hour and a half at the gym instead of the usual hour. The fibre one was great as I found out that I wasn't eating nearly enough fibre and it sorted a lot of problems out for me LOL
I only lost a kg over the whole 6 weeks but I gained muscle and lost inches instead.

I dunno ladies, I bet you I could out-geek you both! Ever been to a comic convention or entered a video game tourney??? haha!

I will have to check out these challenges, sounds interesting.

good stuff holly, keep it up.

Well done!! That sounds like a job well done to me :)

Sare - thank you, I'll drop in on your diary to check up on you too!

I wish! Er and that's re: comic con, not so much the video game tourney! Mostly because I would be so useless - I've only been good at one game and that's pokemon - I can't believe I even admitted that lol.

Ok so I've had 1600kcal today (I was at 1500kcal but I had 2 weight watchers biscuits, oopsie, but still a good total I think) and I'm about to do my weights.

I kinda can't be bothered but I'm gonna force myself, they don't take long to do and I do like my new biceps haha. Ok so off I go...

Don't worry about the biscuits. 100 cals won't make much difference one way or the other, really. Now be a good girl and to do your workout!

I did do my weights last night but today hasn't been as good.

I ate somewhere between 1600kcal and 1700, I don't know exactly cause I had a few sips of milkshake and other little things.

I also haven't done any exercise, which is a pain but I'm feeling kinda down and just not up to it.

I'm a little sad that some cereal bars I made didn't turn out right either, all crumbly and useless, but that's probs just 'cause I'm being overly sensitive about things not going right - I'm always like that when I'm feeling a little blue.

Thanks Sunflower - I ended up putting the mixture into baggies and had it as a sort of fruit and nuts mixture instead.

I've not been very good the last 3 days. I've done no exercise except walking to and from placement everday and my calories have been ok but not brilliant (around the 1700kcal mark). Tonight I've had about 1400kcal but I'm going out drinking with friends so there's no way today is going to be under maintenance calories!

I need to get my consistency back on track, I know that just getting back on track is key - not necessarily overdoing it to try and make up for my lapses.

I have some other things I want to type about but I can't totally be bothered/I've got to get ready :)
