We are what we repeatedly do...

Hey Holly,

It's been a while. I'm getting really poor at updating my blog...mainly because I am RUBBISH hehe. I do exactly the same as you are doing, get bored, try something new, regret it and then realise you had it pretty good before. Luckily with these things it doesn't matter, you put it down as experience and move the hell on.

Well done hun, keep up the good work. X

Sorry for not replying..
I asked because I have a friend who is doing Medicine at Newcastle.
Well.. It's one of Martins friends :p

How are you doing?
red xx

Hey Holly, how's it going hun? I feel like I've been off this site for ages but I've just been so mega busy. Tell me everything...what's been going on??? I'm gonna update my diary now, so feel free to stop by xx

Hey ladies, thank you for asking where I am, I kinda needed that.

I've been all over the place :( So frustrated about my weight and at myself for my inconsistent efforts at losing it.

I've been hopeless lately, gained back about half a stone. I know I should get back to counting calories but I feel so uninspired/unenthusiastic.

Everyone in my life, my mum, my brothers and sisters, my friends are unhappy with their lives and just sad in general so - even though I'm relatively happy with my life - I get so down thinking about how unhappy everyone is.

Also, I have so little money right now - it's a major stress.

Not great all in all.

I don't know what to do with myself.

ARGH *slaps self* - I've been catching up on other people's journals and I've realised I sound like such a neurotic sad sack in here! I am pretty neurotic and depressing sometimes but that's not all I am. I am also a hysterically insane loud mouth :)

Yeah so I do really need a slap in a lot of ways. I'm going to be reporting back here daily so I can get myself back into the groove.

I think I need a hobby. I love my degree/placement and I love having something interesting to do every day (talking to patients, examining them, learning new procedures, taking bloods etc ... I really do love this stuff, even when it's sad because the patient is dying) but when I get home I do nothing with my life. I end up watching telly, gorging on sugary things and then going to bed without moving off the sofa.

I think I at least need to find something more constructive to do with my sofa time, even if I don't get off it haha.

Maybe I should start knitting again, or painting, or do some reading....

I'm so one of those people that needs to be always doing something otherwise I get restless and frustrated. I wish I wasn't such a complicated nerd haha.

OK end of my random ranting. I'll be back tomorrow :)

^^ What Piggy said. We all rant on here, don't worry! I keep falling off the wagon (and then dragged behind it for several days until I claw my way back on) and I know that feelinf of MEH where you can't reallllllly be bothered to do it anymore!

*slaps*

You are back, you are serious and you can do this!

xx

Hey Holly,

I'm also one of those people that need constant distraction lol.
I'm really trying to keep busy with lots of different things to keep motivated.
Knitting is awesome. I'm so bad at it though, well I can knit great squares or rectangles, but that's it! I'm trying to finish a beanie at the moment, but it's taking so long it's already nearly summer here Doh'!!!!

*agree with redpiggy and sunflower*

SLAP

You've done it for me Holly, so I'm returning the favour. I'm thinking of starting ball room dancing, nerdish...yes, old ladyish...yes....but totally awesome...YES! LOL. Anymore ideas on hobbies? May as well make it something that increases your movement etc...kill two birds with one stone, no? x

Thanks you guys, you're all so lovely and great - I really appreciate you giving me a slap haha :)

So I'm feeling more positive about getting on track today. You've just got to keep on keeping on, right? The only way that you can fail is by giving up, afterall.

And you're right Pip, I could do with finding a hobby that gets me moving a bit more! I think I might buy a dance game for my bf's wii to get me started. I would start ball room dancing too (secret desire of mine has always to be able to dance) but I am one of the most clumsy arrhythmical people you'll ever meet!

I wish summer would come back, it's so much easier to exercise when it's sunny.

Lunch: beans on toast with cheese (550kcal)
Snack: toffee crisp pieces (100kcal)
Dinner: polenta chicken and wedges (720kcal)
Snack: tea and 2 biscuits (200kcal)
Total: 1570 kcal

JUST DO IT and stick with it....NO excuses

Er, thanks Msandra. Sometimes encouragement is nicer when it's a bit more sugar coated. I'm not a huge fan of tough love, personally.

Jess - thanks for the post! I can only do square things too. I did manage to do a little hat once but it came out waaaay too big haha so it was kinda useless for my niece who's only three.

Come back soon :)

I don't know how people have the patience for knitting or sewing. Then again I suppose if there is a finished product at the end of it then it might be worth it. I get a bit annoyed, as much as I love reading, at the end I'm like, ohhhh I've nothing to show for it lol. Holly, how's the exercising going? x

Yeah I can get frustrated with fiddly things pretty easily, hence why I usually give up new hobbies as soon as I take them up!

Argh the exercise isn't going at the moment.

I've been walking to my placement three days a week, which is over an hour of walking but aside from that I've done nowt!

I think I'm going to try and persuade myself to jog in the morning before my shower, even if it's only for fifteen minutes. And if I can afford it I'd like to try to fit in an exercise class once weekly, but they're about 4 pound at the gym nearest me so it's quite dear.

I'll try and have something better to report exercise wise in the next week :)

You're doing just fine Holly. What I would say with classes, as much as I like them...I think they easily and cheapily can be recreated in the home. My living room is miniature so it's tough here, but if you have some room then you can totally burn off millions of cals in the comfort of your own living room lol. X

I sound like an advertisement.. But if you have money (or already own an xbox) then a kinect is a great one for exercising.
I bought one the other day and have done about 6/7 hours of sweating already. I haven't even got an exercise game for it! It's just adventures and dance central. And you can't cheat it like you can the Wii. Although Just Dance is really good onthe Wii, it is a little... Almost not like dancing if you see what I mean.
If you're finding it hard to exercise even just eating better is a start and will hopefully get things going again for you

red xx

Ooooh red, I've seen you about the forum but never noticed you're from Leeds. I went to uni there and am going back next September to do my PGCE. I love love love Leeds, it's a second home! Sorry to get all over excited lol x
