Hey don't sweat it. I live in Chicago and I've lost weight :). Seriously, just enjoy yourself and do things with moderation. It sounds like you did a geat job with the pizza and even though my Chicago friends look down on Uno, I always want to eat a whole pizza by myself there.

So- on to this upcoming challenge: I'm excited because I would really like to get into the 220's by the end of this challenge. There will be a few challenges for me along the way- Monday and Tuesday I will be in Chicago for training. We're doing a dinner cruise Monday night on the lake. There will be food.. there will be beverages.. of this I am sure. I am just going to have to remind myself what the ultimate goal is here. The ultimate goal is not to stuff myself on the silly boat... it is to look smashingly gorgeous! :p If I can get through the Chicago trip without too much damage, I should be golden.


Oooohhhh, are you going to take a dinner cruise off the Navy Pier?? I went there on my trip to Chicago a few weeks ago. It looked so cool but we didn't end up taking one.
 
Hey Val, that is the really good thing about these challenges, especially when others are depending on you. It is that extra motivation to remain in control in situations like those, and then eventually it should become habit ;) Good luck, I am sure you will do great :)
 
Okay- the weigh-in for the 2 week challenge was 235.4. That is up about a pound or so from where I thought I was- but I'm just crossing my fingers that it's water weight from the pizza I munched on yesterday. (Maybe??) I've been bad about exercising the past few days. I worked out on Monday, but not since then. It's like I used the 3 day break between challenges as an excuse to be lazy. But alas- no more excuses!, Day one of the challenge is here and if I'm not sweating my butt off to TurboJam later today- someone better give me a good whacking!

hey Val!! thanks for stopping by my diary. And, thanks for offering up the help with this stinkin plateau!!!!!! i am hoping the challenge at least gets me closer if not breaks it!!

But, anyways, pizza ALWAYS makes me heavier the next day so dont fret, i'm sure it will be gone soon and as for turbo jam....just hit it - dont htink about it - before you know it, it will be over and you'll feel great!! i see 220 in your future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

And as far as taking my measurements goes- I pulled out the tape measure again to compare to when I last took my measurements, and I think I saw part of the problem. I have lost almost two inches in my waist- but not even a smidge in my hips. It's that stinkin lower part of my stomach that's ruining all my fun! lol Hopefully that will start going away soon and keep up with the rest of my body.

Oh that blasted lower stomach. I have one of those icky lower stomach. I never had one until I got pregnant and gained the 50 I'm so desparately trying to lose now. All my pants fit weird and I am almost in a size 20 except for that stomach. Just a few more pounds and we will get there! I wouldn't stress to much about the pizza at least you know what it does to you so it's not a total suprise. Just think about it. If that pound and a half or so is just water you will show more of a loss at the end of the challenge!

What I really wanted to ask was about TurboJam. I have seen the infomercials and considered buying it but wasn't sure how it would affect my lower back. I have some problems with that area because when I moved I thought I was superwoman and tried to lift my dresser:cool: Anyway, I just wanted to know if when you do the workout if your lower back feels overworked.

3. Have a terrific time in Chicago! I love Navy Pier and the boats. Like Cannon said, just try to take everything in moderation and you'll be alright. Have fun!
 
Hey Val, pizza often has a lot of salt in it, so I wouldn't be surprised if you are retaining water. Eating a bit of bacon can make me put on 3lbs overnight!!!
 
BUT, my hair is super cute now

We want to see pictures of this fabulous new do!!!!! Hope you have a good weekend and just stay strong for Monday and Tuesday. You will do fine. Just wear really tight control top panty hose and then you'll barely be able to breathe much less eat!!! That's how the ladies in corsets used to eat all dainty like a bird.

Going home to work out- I promise! Ugh- I really need someone to help me kick my butt back onto the exercise wagon. I haven't dropped a bit of sweat since Monday :(
 
Woo hoo- I went home and worked out like I said I would! I did the 15 minute Burn routine that is part of the Learn & Burn series, and then the 45 minute Cardio Party (or whatever it's called). I am so gross- hair is definitely not cute with this much sweat in it. But who cares! I made myself work out! Yay! I'm back on the work-out wagon! :)
 
Yay!!! I need to get back on the wagon too. With my out of town guest around, I have not been going to the gym after work. I am going in the morning for sure!! We got a challenge going on here! I sent Neena and Veena or whatever their names are back today and I am waiting on the Carmen Elektra Strip Tease work out. I'll let you know.
 
Good Job for sticking to your exercise routine!!! Thanks for your encouraging words!! They perked me up! Also, thanks for the TurboJam heads up. I don't think that would be the routine for me but it looks like it produces amazing results! So keep working it!! You're awesome! :)
