Trusylver's Diary

Great job! I secretly fantasize about joining the "fitness" competitions here, and the women in these things are so sculpted I think that might be my 10 year goal, since I can't see much muscle definition right other than my shoulders (and not the rest of my arms!). I should lift more just for my own benefit. What a motivatior you are! I also want to commend you on having a bodyfat goal, since that is so much healthier than a goal based on some real or imagined body weight number. We get so obsessed with our weight and so often forget that it's excess body fat that really poses the health risks, and makes us lumpy where we don't want to be. You're a great example, thank you!

Yesterday my food was awful, we had friends visit for a roleplaying session and the consumption of junk food was extreme.

todays goal is plenty of water to flush out the system in the hope that my stomach will stop complaining about yesterdays abuse

if i feel a little better later i will get some cardio done on the stationary bike.

Excellent! I love reading all of your work-out specs. Very cool! Thanks for taking the time to post it all.
Keep up the good work!

Hey ya Tru! :D Hope you are feelin' better after your junk food abuse :D You're smokin'!! :D Keep up the awesome work :D

thanks for the support everyone, I should have made it into the gym for a leg workout day but my middle son is home sick from school, spent some time on the home gym but it doesn't have enough weighs for some exercizes.

this afternoon is rugby training, games start next month.

Hi Tru :D Hope your son is feeling better! :D How did training go? Hope nobody else is getting sick and all is well with you :D

Will you be playing Rugby, or just the kids? It's a great workout! I've been to a few games, it looks like fun (and lots of work!). Have a great week please!

It has been a busy week, sunday we had a former national rugby coach spend a coaching session with my team, we spend a lot of time practicing lineouts which for me meant practicing lifting a team mate up above my head.

Miss princess I play and 2 of the kids play, my youngest plays soccer. I usually play in the hooker position but swap positions for the lineout so i can lift (I am the strongest player in my team).

(a description of rugby positions for american football fans)

we all have training tonight and today my eldest son is representing his school in a chess competition.

That's fantastic, what an inspiration you are! Keep up the great work Tru! Have a wonderful weekend, I usually start my weekend on Fridays :D .

Training went well last night, I got covered from head to toe with mud due to training on a muddy field in the rain. More lineout practice after a 1/2 hour game of touch rugby with the mens team.

Saturday I have 2 games back to back for the start of the season, we have no reserves so i will be exhausted by the end of the day but hubby is going to drive down to watch me and drive me home after the games because i don't think i will be in any condition to drive.

I havn't been doing much cardio lately because of my program to gain muscle for the powerlifting comp in august but with the all the cardio this week i am down 1kg this morning, i just hope it is not muscle loss as my primary goal is no longer to loose weight but extra fat loss is welcome.

My son won 3rd place in the chess comp for his school, he came 6th as an individual in the primary school division and 23 overall. Most of his games were against grade 11 and 12 high school students (He is only in grade 6) with his first two games against the best 2 players in the high school team my husband coaches and the overall winners of the comp.

Yay, Tru!
Congrats to your son, you must be so proud :D

That's tough work, having two games back to back! I don't envy you there.
However, I'm sure you'll do great. All the best of luck Mate.

I played my 2 games of rugby yesterday afternoon, it is now 6am sunday morning, I have an interesting new selection of bruises and i am soooo sore i can't sleep and the house smells like deep heat. we had a draw for the first game and a narrow loss for the second game. Playing back to back games was realy hard but I managed to stay on the field and keep running untill the last 5 minutes of the second game.

today i had a role playing game with friends planned but it has been called off so i can recover.

Edit: I just had a look at the calories burned for rugby and it works out to be 810 per hour so i burned approx 1205 calories in 2 games.

WOW!! way to go on the calorie burning...you are doing so amazingly...don't yah love it when you find bruises everywhere...hee hee I used to play hockey - played it until i had my first baby 4 years ago and was forever finding bruises I didn't even know i had!

Keep up the great work!

yesterday i spent most of the day in bed reading but today most of the sore muscles have recovered even if i do look black, blue and purple all over my legs and arms lol.

This morning i had a big meeting with my sons school to work out strategies to help overcome his problems with autism and ADHD at school and the rest of the day will be spent sitting at the computer getting some work done :(

hopefully this afternoon i can get a chance to run some intervals on the hill outside to stretch my muscles out a bit more so i can get back to normal training tomorrow.

Hi Trusylver. I like your Bodyfat Goal tracker. It's a way of tracking loss that I'd like to try. Any tips or advice?

Patty, i made my tracker myself because i couldn't find one anywhere else that tracks bodyfat %

I choose to track bodyfat rather than BMI is because I do a lot of weight lifting and have much more muscle than the average woman on a short 5'2 body.

both the links above list the different levels of bodyfat % and according to the trainer at the gym i am in the healthy bodyfat% range for my age. but because i have a lot of muscle i fit into the obese BMI category.

If you want to track bodyfat% try to get the same experienced person to take the measurements each time.
