Trusylver's Diary

ok BizeB sorry i forgot that where i posted my pics for the competition was a members only page, here are my pics but will prolly only have them up a few days considering i am half naked

Love the pics Tru!You look like a force to be reckoned with,a strong lady for sure! When I did boxing a few years back,I got very strong from doing weights too.I worked in a sausage factory, one day a body of beef(forequarter)fell off the slide rail.It weighed about 120kg,I picked it up to waist height as another person hooked it back up!I surprised myself that day!
But I am nowhere near as fit/strong as that anymore!Maybe I will get back into boxing again in the future!I still have my speed ball/punching bag/floor to ceiling ball/gloves/head gear/breast protector/wraps to use at home. But its a bit boring training on your own at home.I had my 16yr old nephew living with me for a few months,he trained with me.Didnt want to spar with him thou,he was a really hard hitter and much faster on his feet than old me!!!
You go girl, love your motivation and drive to get looking/feeling strong.:D

I agree with Magenta - a definite force to be reckoned with! :) You are doing so good Tru. A great sorce of inspiration for us all:)

Great pics Trusylver ! I tried to look at the web yesterday for the pics and didnt see them. Glad you posted them here. You are one determined woman.... Cant wait to see the results as you progress. By the way, do they give you any kind of time frame as to how long it will take you to reach your goals? Just wondering. I am sure building muscle has a diff time table than weight loss....

We do have a universal gym in our basement that I dont use. Need to get on there. I also have a "lose weight with weights" tape by Kathy Smith that I should be using. Need to wake my muscles up, especially my upper body muscles. I have a book from the library on looking good sleeveless and I guess its time to open it up and put some of these arm muscles to work. Its just so aweful getting started. Its easier for me to start the aerobics.

How many push ups can you do? I used to be able to do them when I was in the US Army but that was a looooong time ago....

Take care...

There is no real timetable for gaining muscle, it is very individual but it does slow down weight loss but not the fat loss which is one of the reasons i track BF% rather than weight because i can loose fat but not have it show on the scales.

my main goal at the moment is to loose the fat covering the muscle :)

as for the push ups i can do 20 proper pushups in a set. the fitness test i found online tested pushups on your knees for woman, i done 53 of those.

i have my regular gym workout shortly.

How'd the gym go today, Tru? Everybody get off to their day okay, this morning? It has been 2 1/2 hours since I "talked" to you and the boys are still doing homework!!! Not that there's a lot, just that their meds wore off so its REALLY slow goin'. Jeeze.... Hope you have had a great day! Will check in again soon :D

Just got back from the gym, had a good workout and had a chat with the trainers about powerlifting, they think i have the muscle and the perfect build for it (i am short between the hip and knee) they have made a note to get the gym owner to spot for me so i can work out what my 1 rep max is for the squat as the female trainers don't have the strength to spot the kind of weights i lift. the gym owner will work out a more powerlifting based program in three weeks time for me when i finish this one and have all my measurements taken again.

Your postcard was waiting for me when I got home today. How beautiful Queensland is.... I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if I lived near the ocean... I can almost see me running along the beach  Ah, that is another life.... Just like you would welcome some cold weather now and then, I would welcome living by a beach now and then....

But for now I am content to live in the heartland of America..... It's a great place to raise a family and the cost of living isnt as high as it is on the costal areas. I dont have to worry about tropical storms damaging my home and, it would only take a day or two to get to a great vacation spot...

Thanks for the card.... :) Cheers

hey ya, Tru ! How go the guppies?!!! LOL I think I laughed myself to sleep last night after talking with you !!!! Hubby kept telling me to shut up and go to sleep!!!! LOL Keep up the good work Tru! Have a grrrrreat day! :D

Good morning, i have gym today but planning to do the stretch and balance class straight after with a friend, all the lifting i am doing is reducing my flexibility.

Last nights rugby training was ok but looks like we don't have enough numbers for the team this year and will need to merge with another club this season for the womans team.

hubby sugested last night that i should run up and down our driveway (1km hill) a couple of times each day to improve my endurance. I am not sure i could make the distance running the whole hill but might give it a go tomorrow morning before going to help look after the desk at the junior rugby union sign-on on saturday.

Wow! You have more nerve than me! I can't even bring myself to post a picture where I am fully clothed! I love how you are so motivated! Keep up the good work! :D

thanks HH, had a good workout at the gym this morning and also done a stretch and balance class after my normal weights to try and improve my flexibility which has been progressivly getting worse with the heavy weight lifting.

hey Trusylver....
just wanted to say hi - and WOW - you are very motivated! What drives you??? I don't want to run up and down my driveway and it's only 4 cars long. Good for you girl!

I think the thing that keeps me motivated the most is competition, by being involved in competitive sport it make me push myself to be the best i can posibly be. Without this sort of motivation i become a fat lazy slob in front of the computer. I have also always been mega stuborn so if i decide to do something NO ONE or thing is going to stop me.

the main problem i have is pushing myself beyond my physical limits till i get an injury and not eating very well.

I got my new ipod in the mail today YAY

will update my food later.

goodmorning, i didn't eat enough yesterday but my water and exercize was good. got on the scales this morning and was down another 1.5 pound from my final weight in for the challenge and finally below the 84 kg mark which i have been hovering around for almost a month.

the trainer at the gym yesterday confirmed that i should be eating 1.5 grams of protein per kg of weight so i am still not eating enough protein for optimal muscle growth. i should be eating 125 grams per day but usually only eat about 90-100 grams and even less on busy days when i dont eat enough of anything.

my glutes and quad muscles are a little sore from the extra exercise yesterday but today and tomorrow are rest days before attempting a 1 RM for the squat at the gym on monday morning.

Tru, you're doing so great! Congratulations on the additional loss. I wish you luck in fitting in more protein. Let me know if you find any good sources you really enjoy, trying to do the same here! Keep up the good work.. !
