Trops Diary

just stopping by to say hi! Hope you had fun apple picking. Between you and Mal I've got the sudden urge to do up some baked apples.
Take care!

Thanks, Fish. It's funny, though. I was saying to my wife yesterday that I've felt a decrease in motivation. I'm still running and jumping rope, but not with the same enthusiasm that I had last week. Almost like I'm just going through the motions and not really chasing it like I was. Also, I've been eating a little bit more then I was. I'm going to weigh myself Wednesday and see how it all turned out, but I'll be happy if I'm still under 200. I don't know if it will be. I'm hoping that a good jump rope session at lunch time and a good run tomorrow will help motivate me.

Hey Trops, maybe finding another "mini" goal is what the doctor should order?!?! Just a thought... 3 consecutive 7.50ish minute miles?... 12,000 jumps? Something to keep you killin' it. You are obviously competitive, even with yourself, so maybe that would get you cranked up again?!?

Hey Trops, looks like you had a great weekend! That's great that family was noticing you looking slimmer... I agree with JZ (have I ever disagreed lol), set yourself some new goals... Just wondering, do you count all those jumps yourself or do you have a jump rope that counts for you?

Filo Dough wrapped around apples that you've sauted with a little brown sugar, lots of cinnamon and nutmeg - low calorie, low fat and delicious...

or just baked apples that you've cored and filled with some brown sugar and chopped nuts..

I ended up not getting all that many apples. Only 8 pounds, but we made apple sauce, just for dinner last night, and an apple spice cake. I had the smallest sliver, and for once that was enough. I have one of those gadgets that peels, cores, and spiral slices apples. Such a great gadget for the kids and makes making applesauce so easy.

Yeah, I'm going to do that. I figure if I keep going through the motions till I get the motivation, it will all fall into place.

I've seen those gadgets in my porn stores - i mean cooking gadget stores... i didn't get the point behind them... I like apple peels :D

you probably peel the taters for mashed potatoes too :D

I do the counting, but I count every other jump. I saw a jump rope that does the counting for you, and I will probably pick one up, but not yet. It would be nice to listen to music when I jump. I cant right now because it throws off my counting.

Well, I jumped rope at lunch, just 3000 jumps again. I did it better, though. It is tough getting used to a new rope. I didn't think it would be. I go much faster, so I get tired faster, too. Hope that means that I'm burning more, but I don't think so. I am going to go to the gym later, though. I want to keep up with the weight lifting.

When I went on Saturday I was not happy with the strength that I lost. I think I should focus on that a bit. I'm making good strides (pun intended) running, but I'd like to make some improvements muscle wise. I'll have to think up some kind of plan that would work for me.

Thanks, Shandy. It's just 3000 considering that last Monday I did 10,000. Of course I was working a different shift and had my old rope, which worked better for me. I also want to run tomorrow, my day off from work, and get a good long distance in, so I didnt' want to kill my legs today. I still want to get to the gym this afternoon, but my wife just told me that the kids have soccer picture day. Bleh! I hate that crap, but the kids like it. Also, it's part of being part of the team, right?

yeah, just thinking about doing 10,000 scares me. and here I was patting myself on the back for getting 300 before falling over dead. try not to have too much fun with the soccer picture day ;) makes me glad my littlins are still too young to have to worry about that. :D

Hey, if an old man like me can do it, then you can too. (where's my walker. You kids git off my lawn! Back in the day movies cost a nickel)

oh I've definately made progress, just not nearly as much as you have. I started out at like 50-75 jumps before I threw in the towel and walked off. so I'm getting better. us young whippersnappers have other activities to keep us moving. :D

Definately part of the team there Trops! My sons pictures for Flag Football are Thursday night, and soccer pictures are Saturday! $50.00 later, we should have proof he had a good time! Or I should say... I'll have proof. Your jumps per minute kick ass! I figured it out roughly, and mine, last week, was like 80ish. It did kill my legs the next day though! And my shoulders for some damn reason! I am trying again tomorrow to see if I can hit 500, maybe even 600! We'll see. I won't hold my breath!! Hittin' the weights sounds like a good thing for you to get into again. I'm sure, if you attack it with the same vigorous tenacity as the jump roping... you'll need a bigger shirt to house the muscle in!

I don't know Shandy, learning from Italian people would probably give them an edge when they play back here! Aren't all Italian boys given a soccer ball by the country when they are born?!? :D

Ha! I'm trying to get into a smaller shirt. I was a tightish XL when I started, now I'm a loosish L. If I can get into a M I'll be very happy. I don't mind tight around the arms, but I can't stand tight around the belly.

My jumps per min are around 155 with the new rope. The old rope it was around 147 +/-. I think I just have to get used to this new rope and I'll really be kicking it up all around.
