Trops Diary

what about the jumping rope? does that not count?

I don't do that at home. I'll do it at work because I have a good place to do it, but when I jump I need a good ceiling height and I sweat like a pig. Can't do it inside. If I can go out, I'd rather go running.

I had some errands to run tonight, so I didn't get to cook anything for dinner. I took the kids out to Panara, but I opted to not have anything. Good choice for me because I'm sure that whatever I chose I would have regretted it afterward.

One thing I did while out was pick up a new jump rope. I almost got the same kind that I had, with a nylon string and plastic beads along the length. Then I saw what they call a speed rope. Ball bearings in the handle. Pretty cool. only 11 bucks, too. They had one that does the counting for you that is 20 bucks, and I thought about buying that one, but figured that I'll get it some other time. At least I have something for the weekend. :jump:

Oh, and one other thing I got while I was out. I picked up a pair of 32 waist jeans. I didn't try them on. I figured that if they don't fit I'll use them as motivation. Well when I got home I tried them on and although they are slightly snug they do fit. That's cool. I'll be very happy when I can get rid of all my intermediate pants and just go with goal weight pants.

Well, I heard about your conscience-wrestling and you won, so :hurray: What did you have for dinner?

I'm craving Indian food, but the ghee and fried stuff makes me fart  Good thing I don't have a boyfriend! :D Man, I have been saying that a lot ;)

YAY you have a new jump rope! I remember how upset you were when your old one broke--it was damn near frightening but heart warming :beating: that your designated workout time is so important to you!

Hi. I'm still alive. Promise.

How've you been doing hon?

Jessie, Darling, how are you doing?

I'm doing really well. Might take a bit of time to catch up on things here, but in a nut shell I finally got below 200 and now I'm trying to stay there. I've also been jumping rope a bunch, made a big goal with that.

How's teaching going and the new town and all?

Love Indian food. When I lived in Manhattan we'd go to Indian Row all the time. It's this one block where the whole thing is Indian restaurants. You'd think that they would be competing with each other, but when you want Indian food, that's where you go, so it actually brought in the business.

Tonight I just had some greek yogurt and I'll probably have a bowl of cereal later. Perhaps not. I didn't do any kind of real workout today, so I'm trying to keep my consumption in check.

Good job! I know how it is........too well! For some reason I'm hungrier when I DON'T work out. Weird, no wonder I prefer to work out almost everyday!

I went running today and got a new PB of 25 min and 50 sec for the 5k. That's an 8 min 20 sec mile avereage. Not bad. I wanted to do a longer distance, but didn't have the time. Also, as I was nearing the end and saw a PB coming up I really gave it my all and had nothing left afterwards. I have to do some distance here one of these days. Also, I realized that this was the first cardio I did since Monday. That's not good at all. I have to get back on it. :smash:

Thanks, Sylver. I really wanted to get a PB on distance, but I guess it wasn't in the cards. Perhaps this week. Tuesday is my day off. Perhaps then.

I did another thing that I haven't done. After work I went to the gym and did a lifting workout. Running then three hours rest, then lifting. Not bad, I think.

Well, last night I went to my Mom's for dinner. I haven seen her in the longest. I think it's been about two months. Well, I went over there and three of my sisters were there for dinner, too. I got some nice complements, too. Not that I'm much lighter then last time they saw me, but this time I was wearing clothes that fit me. The 32 jeans and a tight, but not too tight t shirt. I looked slimmer then I feel, so it was the look I was going for.

Unfortunately I ended up eating too much. Not like it was bad stuff, but bread and cheese and sutch. I didnt' have any wine, which I often do at mom's. Stuck to diet soda.

Today I tried out my new jump rope. It's very different then my old one. Lighter and faster. It took some adjusting to get the length right, but I think I have it right now. I only did 3000 jumps, but by the end I was doing 157 jumps per min. That's faster then I've ever done, so I'm not going to complain too much.

After work I'm going apple picking with the family. I love apple picking. I'll probably eat too many, but really, how much dammage can a few apples do. We'll probably get some pork to roast up later and make apple sauce and apple pie. I'll do what I can to avoid the pie.

wow 3000 jumps - are you kidding? You must be so fit. I think I need to thank you for what you said in my diary - I forget now - but I have made a point of looking for your diary to say so. Congratulations on your weight loss and fitness success and size 32s. Fantastic.

Trops! Nice work, buddy. Shit... running, skipping rope, 32 pants and very close to your goal! That's nuts.

I started running again last night for the first time in almost a month and not even a mile in my knee was back to acting up again. That pissed me off. So I ran through it a bit, about a mile and a half, and walked the rest. I don't want to bugger this up. So I'll start slow, 1-1.5 mile outings for a couple weeks to bring the knee up to form.

Keep up the good work, man. I've been super super busy lately and haven't been able to post much but I've been keeping my eye on the gang. Glad to see you're still kicking it.

Thanks, Fish. It's funny, though. I was saying to my wife yesterday that I've felt a decrease in motivation. I'm still running and jumping rope, but not with the same enthusiasm that I had last week. Almost like I'm just going through the motions and not really chasing it like I was. Also, I've been eating a little bit more then I was. I'm going to weigh myself Wednesday and see how it all turned out, but I'll be happy if I'm still under 200. I don't know if it will be. I'm hoping that a good jump rope session at lunch time and a good run tomorrow will help motivate me.

Filo Dough wrapped around apples that you've sauted with a little brown sugar, lots of cinnamon and nutmeg - low calorie, low fat and delicious...

or just baked apples that you've cored and filled with some brown sugar and chopped nuts..
