Trops Diary

Last night I went to the party that we made the sausage for, and what a blast. I thought that the sausage was the worst (or should I say wurst) but somebody brought a whole tray of quail wrapped in bacon. Oh...My....God! :drool5: That was so good. I'm not going to mention all the other stuff I ate, but it wasn't good. The one thing I did keep clear of was the alcohol. A sip here or there, but on the whole, nothing. It's only now that I realize that I never tasted my friend's first batch of homebrew. :ack2: I'll have to invite myself over there to have some :D

today I went running and did 7.5 miles. Not too bad considering how much I over ate last night.

Wow...with 7.5 miles who cares what you ate last night! lol So do you have somewhere great to run or just wherever? When I lived in cali I had alot of beautiful places to hike and walk (can't run because of a bad knee). There's supposed to be some nature trail here in Ohio in the town north of here that I want to try if the snow ever stops, lol.

Anyway glad you had a good weekend and sounds like you started off your week kicking ass as usual :)

When I run at work the scenery is so nice. There are dear and wild turkeys all around, and I find that so enjoyable to run with. When I'm home I'll run on the streets, which aren't really the safest to run on because of the lack of sidewalks and too much ice/snow. I've been coming up with better routes, though. It's funny now that I'm doing longer distances to think how far I'll run compared to a drive. I'll think, "I ran that? It takes me at least 10 minutes to drive that. Cool :biggrinjester: "

Yesterday I got to the gym pretty late. I'm on the midnight shift, so I'm pretty tired, but I was feeling a bit strong so I went for a PB on the bench press and got 265 once. I'm happy about that. I know that 275 when I'm rested is right around the corner.

I feel you on the running atmosphere...I love running in a place thats natural it makes it way more enjoyable!!
Way to go on the bench press :)

The funny thing is I still hate running. It's good for me, so I do it, and I like the gains that I've made, but the idea of running for more then ten steps? No thanks. Running in a good setting just helps distract me from actually thinking about what I'm doing. :)

Do you ever get that runners high I've read about but never experienced? lol Too bad exercise doesn't make us feel like that the whole way through...although as race we'd probably kill ourselves off because we wouldn't stop :X

It was good to read you hated it though. I read everyone talking about everything they're doing and consistant exercise has always been a problem for me. The year and a half I lost 80lbs was the only time I stuck to it, walking every time I had a chance and even running when I wasn't supposed to until my knee started flaring up bad and my doctor wanted to beat me. But I guess I have to remember even then I worked up to the 2 hours a day I was doing.

Awesome job sticking to it :)

Sometimes I hesitate to post stuff...well because my sense of humor is...odd and usually not funny to anyone but me. But the other day when I was reading the part about you making sausage for a party my first thought was "sausage party", lol. My husband has a friend who always complains he isn't going somewhere if chicks aren't there and says "it's just gonna be a sausage party". Not funny in and of itself but me being tired and not reading correctly...well anyway...so yea....I'm weird :)

I'm right with you on that. I'll write something and it makes me chuckle. Then I think, "no one is going to think this is funny" but I do, so I post it. :biggrinjester:

The sausage party was so much fun, and really, what's a bit of sausage stuffing among friends. :sifone:

So yesterday I had a killer workout. I did some squats and deadlifts followed by a superset of leg extensions/leg curls. After that a wall sit had me shaking after just ten seconds. I was able to make a minute, but there was nothing left after that. It felt real good. I'm doing this one so much more frequently. :D

Ugh! I feel like crap. I know I'm coming down with a doozy of a cold, and the kids are off from school this week. :(

I have not kept up with my workouts, but I don't atribute that to my being sick. It's just something going around. I worked out Thursday, and it was a good one, but then Friday I did the platelet donation, Saturday was Valentine's Day, and now Sunday I'm sick. I'm thinking about just not even trying for the next few days.

what? i missed a sausagefest? my invitation musta got lost in the mail...

hi trops..sorry you are feeling sick......hope you feel better soon...only one week left on our challenge you know. 6 weeks sure did fly.

Hey, Karen, I still got plenty of sausage for ya. Just come on out to the east and there's more sausage then you can shake your... well you know. :biggrinjester:

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well! There is something going around down here too. My students are either throwing up or coughing. It's really quite disgusting going into school these days. However, it also lowers the class size for a few days, so thats the plus of that!

Hope you get to feeling better and get back on your game!
