Trops Diary

Hey something is better than nothing. And I am the same way I always put myself last on the list and then if I dont get to it at least everything else got taken care of... I hope you do find some time for you though... and I hope the weather holds for you long run. :smash:

I'm a people pleaser too Trops! I hope your plans workout though. Everyone needs to do something for themselves every now and then.

Also just wanted to let you know that I think you are awesome and you have been the role model that I needed for this whole process. I would still be 227 pounds if it weren't for encouragement from wonderfu people like you. And now I'm in one-derland and throwing myself into high gear because of kicks in the butt from my friends here on the forums.

So from me to you... Thank you.

Hey T!!! I hear ya on the pleasing others first!! Bet your wife is happy!!!:sifone:

But seriously, you're a good man! I beleive in many of the same ideals as you, and it's great to know there are others out there who do as well. I appreciate our friendship, and as Just Jessie said... I would probably not be as far as I am if it weren't for many of your, and others, encouraging words!!!

That being said... Good job hitting the gym first because you knew it would get difficult to make it later. That's one step to getting the well deserved me time as Bunny pointed out that we all need!!! And using your theory, that I beleive whole heartedly now... a 5 leads to way more 10's!!! Getting in there, and doing the work, even under less than desired conditions says alot about your character, but we all knew that about you anyways!!! Have a GREAT weekend, don't work yourself out of enjoying something for yourself... easier said than done... I Know, and hope the weather holds so you can get that good run in!! Have good ones bud.

I noticed before but you and I both work night shifts. Well me partly now anyway...I was able to mine split up now instead of all nights. I do two nights and two days shifts....not sure which is worse. Anyway do you like it or just do it because the job requires it? I find it's alot more peaceful and I work alone...drive to work is definitely less chaotic. And I finally figured out to use black out curtains in the summer. But in the winter like now my body wants to go to bed, not to work. So some nights it's hell. I'm guessing you experience this too. I think it's awesome that you work nights though and still do your workouts. You should be proud of yourself for being so motivated on such a tough schedule!

Thanks, everyone. It's looking promising for a good run today. I'm at work now, but because it's the weekend I should be able to sneek out for a bit. I'm going to wait till the coffee kicks in, though.

I work a rotating shift, so one week I'll work the midnight shift, the next I'll be evenings, then the next I'll be days. Each shift has it's advantages and disadvanteges, so for that reason I like that it rotates. This week I'm on day shift, so that means that there is less time for me to do what I want, both at work and at home. Evening shift I have plenty of me time, but then I don't have family time. Midnight shift I am just tired all the time and I gain weight every time.

My plan for after work is that a bunch of friends are coming over and we're making sausages. Not cooking them, which we'll probably do, but stuffing them. I got about 20 pounds of meat and the various friends are probably bringing 20-30 pounds. It should be fun. We should have 11 adults and 6 kids there, so that's a lot of people in the kitchen. I'm sure it'll turn into some kind of party.

A good time, but there will be no time to work out if I don't get running here. I think that I only have one hour in for the week, so that means at least a hour a day for the next three days. :ack2:

I just got in from running and I did 11 miles in 34 min. I was thinking that I could have pushed it further, but that last half mile I was slowing down to a crawl and thought, "why push it." There is always next time. Last time I did a long run I didn't push it past where I should and I was able to run two days later. I'm hoping to do that again this time.

Anyway, I also followed up the run with a nice long walk to ease down, but I forgot to mention that it's 22 degrees, so once I was no longer running it got cold fast. :auto:

working all night?

sausage stuffing?

11 miles in 34 minutes?

WTF!!!!

combine the 3 and it sounds like a REALLY REALLY fun time :Angel_anim:

keep on going!!! woot woot!

When I see the word "sausage" my mouth automatically waters. I have been in a very passionate romance with organic chicken sausage for about a month. It has been getting serious.

I hope your sausage party went fun! SAUSAGE FEST! hahaha omg I just cracked myself up!

Good job with the run! AWESOME WORK!

Yeah, that would be more of a biking thing, then running.

You know, with eating right and running my ass off, along with lifting, I would have thought that the pounds would just be dripping off. Guess not. Good thing I'm in this more for health then weight loss.

Sausage stuffing huh? Sounds like good stuff, I do enjoy some good home made sausage, got a local butcher shop here that I frequent that makes some top quality stuff but I've never done my own.

Doesn't sound very light though...:biggrinjester: Hope your weekend went well...

Actually it's pretty cool to have control over how light or not the sausage is. We made a pepper turkey sausage that was very low fat. Not much moisture in it, but great flavor. The venison sausage was amazing, too, but I think my favorite was the lamb with ginger and fruit. Wow! We also made pork with leeks and apple and the most amazing cider/vinegar reduction syrup.

I got beef to make some beef and barley with mushroom sausage, but we really did too much. I might make it tonight, just so that it's done. I think I'm making meat loaf tonight for dinner, or as the kids call it, meat love. :D

I would love to try making my own sausage. I LOVE sausage... LOVE LOVE LOVE it. If I could make it and control exactly what was in it? Man, I'd have a hard time not living off the stuff! HAHA!

I can't believe your distance, Trops. That's so awesome. I need to start bumping up my distance so bad. I'm just afraid. Things are going well and the weight's coming off nicely. I think I should keep my progression slow until I reach my weight goal then I can push a little harder on the distance. Regardless, good work, man.

With all this talk of "sausage stuffing".... I thought I was in Bunny's diary!!! :D :D

Great job with the run... fuk that's a LOOOOOONG distance!! Great time as well!!

Thanks, Fish. I am thinking that the things that I did in the beginning aren't working the same now. It used to be a little running had big results. Now I'm running my ass off, but the ass is still there. :ack2: I'm not too concerned about it. I'm still making strides fitness wise, so it's still all good.

wow... It really IS a sausage fest in here... so much celebration and appreciation of sausage I feel a compelling need to join in...
Trops, all of your different flavoured sausage is sounding very delicious :)
