Tomble's Weight Loss Journal! I welcome your opinions!

Howdy Tomble!!! :D:D 'rosered' is from Australia too!
2.5 hours of walking? Wow! Thats great, keep it up!!

Oh yes, and today's update. Well, I had my junk food night last night as always, and this morning (drumroll please) I was at the same weight! Due to circumstances, I didn't have time for lunch yesterday, so I think that my calorie intake was about 90% dinner, without being too high in general. yay!

Had a sewing class today (yes, I am learning to sew! The first thing I am making is some boxer shorts, next thing will be a shirt!) Of course I'm the only guy in the class, but that's okay. What is fun is the fact that we took measurements the very first week, and the boxer shorts I started then are now a bit too big for me.

I am very excited about this next thing, so it is big and obvious and if you can imagine me half shouting it, with a slightly manic and happy look, that would be appropriate.

I've lost 9cm (3.5") off my waist and 9.5cm (3.7") off my hips!!!!!!

And that's not since the very beginning but since maybe five or six weeks ago! I hadn't noticed a lot of difference in my appeareance until the beginning of this month when my belly started to flatten out a lot, so perhaps the fat is going from there a bit faster.

This is incredible! I thought I might be measuring incorrectly, but no part of me is wider than that, I can't make the tape measure give a higher measurement!!! I didn't measure my chest, but I can feel that it is smaller too. I wish I had measured myself a few months ago...

I've been wearing some work pants which I couldn't fit into six months ago, now I need a belt to keep them up!

Going to a barbecue tonight (an election barbecue, where people will drink and eat and watch the state government election results come in). Should be fun, and I'll have to watch what I eat.

I could be at 106 kilos by the end of next week if I am careful! Woohoo! I am just so happy and motivated right now. If I feel down, I just reach a hand down and pat my belly or try to grab a heavily reduced roll of fat, and I am instantly cheered. This is all like a good dream, but it's really happening :) :) :) :)

Oh, cool! So there definitely is more than one of us here :)

2.5 hours is actually not that bad for me, I have excellent walking stamina, but my aerobic fitness isn't so great. The longest walk I did was 10 hours of continuous walking, I walked from my house right into the middle of the city and back, which is a fair hike!

Walking for 2.5 hours theoretically burns off over 1000 calories for me, which means I either eat more or burn off a .5 kg / 1lb every half week.

10 hours! Crikey!

Indeed! :)

It was good, but I could barely walk the next day - sore calves! About a year later, after I had been walking to work for a few months, I did it again. That time I had no pain afterwards at all. I keep wondering how far I could actually walk in one hit if I had to.

You've been tagged! Post 5 things about yourself and tag five more people. See wishes' diary for more info, she started it.

Oooh, I forgot to do this!

1. This is my fourth, and will be my last weight loss effort. I lost a lot of weight in high school when I was keen on cycling, I was quite slim around 10 years ago, and in 2004 I dropped back to 102kg before chunking it all back on! Once this weight is gone, it's staying gone!

2. I have a twin sister. No, we don't look anything alike.

3. I love to cook! My partner hates to cook, so I make dinner every night. She's very happy with this situation :)

4. I love making stuff and working with my hands. Homebrewing, woodworking, woodcarving, sewing, gardening and so on.

5. I have no food dislikes, and will eat or at least try anything except for one thing - jelly. Anything which wobbles like that disgusts me absolutely. Not the taste, just the texture. My ultimate diet plan might be to cover everything in horrible, wobbly jelly. Ewwwwwww. I have no idea why this should be so.

Heh, thanks! I hope it will never have any sort of grim irony attached to it `He was actively losing weight when the meteorite struck'.

You're doing so well yourself! Do you find yourself wishing you could just, for maybe a couple of minutes, feel what it was like to have all that weight back?

Since it changes so slowly we don't feel different, but I think if we could remember properly what it was like we'd be startled at the change.

Hmm, I invented a new diet plan tonight. I will call it the `Get distracted and burn dinner' eating plan. You can eat what you like, but it's going to be seared black on the outside and taste like burned vegetables and herbs. Mmm.

Stupid distractions! Argh.. I think that's the first time I've burned a meal in 5 or more years. At least it was mostly salvageable. The meat was okay. To shock most of you, I will reveal that it was actually kangaroo meat. No, I'm not kidding! It's extremely lean and very tasty.

Also uploaded a new avatar pic tonight. Woo!

Jumped on the scales before bed - still 107.5 kg. Hopefully it will roll back to a new low of 107.0 tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!

Hey Tomble,
Just popping in to say hi and see how you're doing! Hope all is going well,

wow this is the successful diary.. way to go... :D and a man who can sew.. very cool :D

Thanks so much! I'm one of not many, though I do have a friend who sews a lot of his own clothing, and always looks stylish. It's part of my motivation for losing weight actually, I can make myself really well fitting clothing and look good!

Alrighty! I was still 107kg this morning. I plan on walking home tonight, and tomorrow, with luck, I will be 106.5! :D

Well, I didn't walk home tonight, and I don't expect any progress on the scales tomorrow, but that's life!

I did gain an extra belt hole, though! Earlier this year I only had two or three spare, now I have six! My pants were getting loose again so I tightened my belt a little. It's such a wonderful reminder of progress! In fact there's only one belt hole left after this, and it's never been used! I've had this belt for years, so once I hit that holw I will be slimmer than I have been in ages!!

That's so awesome Tomble! I know what you mean about the belt "progress meter".... it's an EXCELLENT sign of progress!!! I had to cut a hole in my belt a while ago...it's the most amazing feeling dude! Good job!
