Hiya Tammy! Thanks so much, it's easy to mess up, isn't it, but at least we know better than to get depressed and just keep eating. Saturday night is shaping up well, maybe I'll go out for a light dinner and see a film or something! Hope you have a good weekend too.

Oh, and yes, that picture is one I took the other night because I wanted to put my face to my name on this board! Glad you approve :)

Hi Tomble,
I'm not sure if I've made it to your diary yet!

Like you, I love walking - my standard route has been 5 miles a day and 13 on Sunday (although I took some time off for foot recovery), but I'm back to the daily5 - I love it!

Granted, I've never walked 10 hours! That is incredible! How far did you go?

And that reminds me, I *so* need to get some books to download to my nano.

Keep up the great work - 32 pounds since September is GREAT!

Hiya! Glad you dropped by :)

5 miles a day is great! I try and get as much walking in as possible. Once I get my little GPS tracking device which will record my distances, I think I'm going to be walking a whole lot more!

I walked from my house in Blackburn, a suburb east of Melbourne, along a bike track which runs all the way to the city. I reached the city centre, then headed home. I got a bit lost along the way, and returned home after dark! Total distance about 50k, (31miles)

My legs hurt a lot the first time I did that. The second time, they barely hurt at all. I'll be doing it again this summer.

And that reminds me, I *so* need to get some books to download to my nano.

Keep up the great work - 32 pounds since September is GREAT!

Try some podcasts, there are bound to be some which match your interests!

Thanks for the good words, this sort of support really helps!

Hey Tammy!

I have a real problem with indoor exercises - I can't stand them! I think I get distracted by other stuff in the house, but walking is something I can do that I really enjoy. Great to hear that you do so much distance, have you ever logged it and found out how far you've walked in a month?

Had a really wonderful walk today, 2.5 hours or so, covering 16km (10 miles). It was one of those walks that reminds you of how nice it can be to walk. I had my dog with me, and I did a bit of exploring around nearby neighbourhoods and along the side of the freeway, which has lovely tracks and parks for walkers and cyclists.

It was all cloudy when I left, but still nice and warm. 20 minutes from my house it became extremely sunny, and stayed that way. Hopefully I didn't get a sunburn!

If my calculations are correct, I just burned off around 1000 calories! Woo!

Hi Tomble! Sounds like you're doing really well in all sorts of ways. 45%!! Whoohoo! Walking heaps! Your diary has reminded me that it's time for me to get out into my own glorious weather. I have been enjoying your posts. Thanks! :D

Holy cow 10 miles 1000 calories geeesh that is awesome!
I had talked about this to some1 else but no matter what measurments I take to keep my gal's in 1 place ,it is very uncompfy to jog.I do know how far
I have walked because I have drove the route to see how far.
I ate very healthy today but didn't get to exersice because I was busy all

Will make up for it tomorrow or I can just borrow a few miles off you lol:p
Well I hope you enjoy your sunday,Tammy

Hey Tomble,

Just read trough your diary, I must say its truly inspirational how determind or should I say motivated you are... Looking out of my window I doubt I'll walk for ten hours today, but maybe some other day when its not so cold and when I am not so bussy with a thousand other things (Excuses, excuses:))
Well, I just wanted to say good work on the walking, healthier foods and the weithloss. Keep it up and see you on the skinnier side:)

Okay, ouch. I just realised that I did get sunburned today! All I needed was a hat! Sigh! That's the last time I leave the house without one, even if it's cloudy when I step outside.

Yeah, 45% I can barely believe it! That magical half way point seems so close :) Glad you're enjoying my posts, I'm having a blast on these forums and it's such a good community spirit here !

I didn't think that the Maya program worked...I'm going to have a GOOD relationship with Icy/Hot today! Man...she really DID kick my butt! Only thing that troubles me is... I only burned 176 calories doing it... weird huh?

Heya Tammy! It was a really nice walk. After the first hour or so I find that my body really goes into auto pilot mode, and I can just enjoy the scenery passing by. I can spare a couple of miles, but perhaps once you've caught up you can give them back to me :)

Heya! Thanks so much for the words of support, I'm just loving the positive atmosphere here! I wouldn't recommend a 10 hour walk if you're not doing lots of other walking to get used to it, but it's certainly one of those things that can really test your endurance!

What sort of exercise are you getting the most of? You said in your diary you were having a hard time getting to the gym? I find a 30 minute walk after dinner to be a great way to burn of some calories before bed.

I'm trying to find it in Australia, think I finally tracked it down. I reckon any sort of fitness program like that is going to hurt me for a while. Maybe I'll stick with walking :)

It says you burned that many, but I really reckon that you must have burned more off than that. I don't trust calorie counting on most things like that, it never seems quite right.

Give yourself a day or two to get over the workout, then get back into it. Before you know it, the original workout will seem eeeeeasy!

Yeah, 45%... I can hardly wait to crack 50%!! A week or two maybe... (fingers crossed). I'm going to do a LOT of walking in the next week, so I will see what happens - other than getting sunburned. Ouch.

Heya's Toble,
Happy Sunday and ouchie sunburn!
Lol it is like a freezer here so more like freezerburn for
me.Well hope you have a gr8 day,Tammy:)
