Tob's walkabout

Sorry to hear about the cooking :/, but on the other hand great journal you have going on. "Dr. Foodlove, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Gym", haha. Sucks about the weather, I'm in Texas, we just went from a 70 degree day to snow over night and in the teens. Just stick with it, things will work out!
 
Monday
Breakfast: Yogurt and granola.
Snack: n/a
Lunch: Salad bar at ruby Tuesdays... spinach with lots of veggies and vinaigrette
snack: fruit
Dinner: Smoked sausage, black bean salad & small glass of beer. (Lager)



Walk: 4 miles



Tuesday
Breakfast: Special K ( 1 cup ) and 1/4 cup fat free milk.
Snack: hummus & triscuts
Lunch: Special K ( 1 cup ) and 1/4 cup fat free milk.
snack: beef stick two WW string cheese
Dinner: two spoons of Spaghetti with 9 mini meatballs piece of garlic bread and some whiskey on ice ( for dessert )

No walk... Ice/ snow storms.

OMG your recipes sound so good! And then I saw what you had to eat the latest lol I'm also a lover of special K cereal and hummus...especially with tomatoes!

Keep up the great work! Walking four miles+ is awesome.

BTW I read what you said about the McDonalds link and was like uh-oh...I just posted a picture of that six month happy meal thing -_-

Hah thanks!, Yeah it depends, on the link i posted a video and it had advertisements in it...
I feel like i am starting to slip a bit though. I find my self getting tempted more and more.... My inlaws want to go out to eat Thursday :(

Feta is usually a mix of sheep and goat milk.
how much do you pay? hahaha


I didn't know that it is usually a mix of the two... it's strange, most of the feta here seems to be made from cow's milk or it doesn't specify... it just says 'milk'. We've been avoiding cow dairy lately to try to sort out some allergy issues, so the feta we've been buying is pure goat's milk (and ya, we're paying way too much for it!), plus I live in Canada... everything's expensive here!

On another note, it looks like you're doing great for your current weight loss plan!

to sear a steak you need a REALLY hot pan and you put the steak in and let it seal on one side then flip it and do the same on the other.

And i am sorry but you will have to buy my cook book when it comes out if you want that chili recipe haha!
in my mashed i put milk and somesour creme and some sweated leeks... Sooo good!

Your recipes sounds delicious, I may try some of them. I know what you mean about sear steak now, lol. I thought that was a type of steak, I didn't know about.:smilielol5: When I make Rib-eye steaks, I brown them in butter on both sides, then put them in foil and bake for about 45 to 55 minutes. You can add peeled potatoes, onions, black olives, and mushrooms and bake all at once. Sometime I Saute the little can potatoes, mushrooms, and black olives in butter letting them get brown, then lay them beside the steaks and bake together in foil. Using my secret spices, lol.

Yeah Some times Feta if the feta says just milk its then COWS milk... then don't over pay for it... haha

It can get overwhelming and a bit disheartening when you work so hard, and don't see the results...but just remember, every walk you take, and every healthier choice you make, is getting you one step closer to your goal!

You can do it! And think of all the wonderful incentives you have! Your lovely wife, your beautiful child, and the other little bambino on the way :)

Hey thanks Tik, unfortunately i haven't really been able to walk like i want. and my eating is getting bad again. Not like tons of food or what ever but its not low like it should be... I dunno
 
Aww, well Tob we're here to help! You can do a lot of exercises in your home without equipment (I here there's a challenge on this board and it walks you through the exercises you can do! How fun :) ) ....and you have all the knowledge and skill to cook healthy! Just looking at your recipes- you know what you're doin'! It's just the motivation! And I know you have that! You're on here, with this diary- you want this!

You can do it Tob! I know it can be disheartening, and frustrating...and sometimes down right depressing...but think about where you want to be, and what you want to achieve! It's going to be hard work- but everything great is worth working hard!

One meal out of the week won't kill you but the everyday temptations will...well come to think of it, one bad meal can strengthen the everyday temptations....that's what happened to me the last time. I lost 24lbs, got stuck in a position where i was so hungry and ate a chicken sandwich (fast food) and it was downhill from there! But maybe you can get a salad or something grilled @ wherever you guys go.

Thanks for thinking so much of me but my problem is now my wife :/ she went off her diet because she is preggo and well we went to the store and she got snack stuff and what not... well i have been eating it... I have no control sometimes...I know im not over eating per say... but im not going to lose....

Well i dunno but i told them today im not going. I can't because ill inevitably order a hamburger and frys or something of the like. What you said is DEAD on... if i slip once i slip again and again until i quit and that has happened already with the dinner i had last Friday... its made me remember how much i love food....and cooking it... Im not Huge or anything but man i really don't want to go above 200 again... haha im torn. I wish my wife would help me more... she has been really moody as of late and then i get into a bad mood... then i want to eat. haha sorry for the rant. thanks for listening.

I was kidding too, but your food does sound delicious! I make a "HOT" chili and I mean hot!

Top you can do this! Go out and eat and enjoy!

I don't eat much in the morning on the day I plan to eat out. Special K and toast and then a salad for lunch and you should be able to enjoy a reasonable meal out. And I never eat dessert unless it is jello, fruit or just something light.

I am an old fashion cook, I use what I have on hand to cook with. For spice to give anything a good taste McCormick (Vegetable Supreme). But the stores doesn't keep it in stock very often.

You keep up the good work, you are doing Good!! :hug2:
