Karl: That is a BEAUTIFUL kayak! Incredible! I absolutely love the finish. I would love to take that thing out on the water, it would be so fun!! You have incredible talent! I guess you had no trouble designing it though, being an engineer and all
Elle: Hey! thanks for coming by! Fitday is pretty awesome. I tried sparkpeople but there was just way too much going on. I don't like the meal plans they reccomend and all that crap...Fitday is just so free and easy. But yeah, multigrain with some peanutbutter = HEAVEN!
Panda: Hey there! Hhaha yes, some people do describe me as a ball of energy...I think I get it from my mom. I was never in organized sports as a kid, so I have always had this buildup of pent-up energy...Working out is one of the only things that can make me relax and be able to fall asleep at a normal time, haha. We shrimp a little in BJJ but it's more of a club/clinic than a class. I've never done circles, we mostly work on a few techniques and then just roll for a few hours. The blisters are just at my achilles tendon...The back of my shoe rubs there for some reason. I've got pretty thick socks but my shoes could be better. They're kind of old and I wore them ALL SUMMER for my job at a lawn care company...which was usually 20 000 steps per day. Rough. I've got nicer shoes but I left them at my Crossfit studio lasttime I went and haven't gotten a chance to go and pick them up. I will before I go home for the christmas break though! Thanks for comin' by
Fish: haha wow! two PB and J's?! Insane! The old me would have eaten like 3 for dinner, but nowadays not so much

You're in London?? I had no idea! SW Ontario whaaat? (I'm not even sure if Guelph is considered SW Ontario...) But yeah, if you can fit BJJ into your schedule, give it a try. You may have to pay extra to get a Gi if the club you're at fights while wearing Gi's, but it's worth it. So many more moves you can do!!
jz: Thanks buddy! I knew you would be!!
On to Today's entry.
Well, friday had an awesome start. After my morning class I went to the gym and snagged a treadmill. I was feeling like upping my routine a little bit, so I increased the speed of my running and walking portions by .2miles each. Holy hell, did I feel it. I was actually pretty concerned though because the HR monitor on the treadmill said my HR got as high as 189...I learned in class the other day that higher than 200 is extremely dangerous...The thing is, I wasn't dying or sweating like a beast when it was 189 so it kind of freaked me out a bit.
Just a recap:
-5 min brisk walk at 3.7 miles/hr
-60 seconds running at 6.0miles/hr
-90 seconds walking at 3.7miles/hr
for 20 minutes. I actually went a little longer though, my total time on the mill being about 30 minutes. I went up to the steepest incline and walked really slowly, bringing my HR down to about 145.
I felt great after that run though. Can't wait to start the new routine today! This week all my runs will be:
-5 min brisk walk
-90 seconds running
-2 minutes walking
for a total of 25 minutes. I'll let you all know how it goes
My food choices on Friday and Saturday were pretty bad, although friday during the day was alright. Friday night we went to see Quantum of Solace (awesome) and went out for dinner beforehand. I one beer (Rickard's white, nom nom nom), coconut shrimp as an appetizer and a thai chicken salad-type thing for dinner. However, being with all my friends, i had 'bites' of lots of different things: onion rings, pita/3cheese dip, fries, popcorn, candy...And I actually gave in and got a box of glosettes raisins for the movie. I know, I should know better. I'm just glad that I didn't give in and order two-three beers, burger and fries, etc etc for myself.
Saturday was kind of crappy too. Went out for breakfast and had 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, some home fries and 2 slices of wheat toast with 2 tbsp of jam. And a cafe latte with 2 packets of sugar. Not very good. Went to the bar to watch the fight (FUCK BROCK LESNAR, let me just get it out there) and I had a Cesar Salad and some of my dear sweet S.O's fries. I had quite a few fruity sugary drinks though, and my tummy hurt quite a bit afterwards.
The fights were great. One of the most epic uppercuts i've ever seen in my life:
and also one of the dirtiest arm-locks I've ever seen (Watch Hazelett dislocate Mcrory's shoulder at around 4:12)
Very disapppointed in Couture vs. Lesnar. Lesnar doesn't deserve shit. He got a lucky shot.
Does anyone else kind of wish Couture was their dad??
Anyways, tiny-out!
