That sucks Mystic about the garage, but a house in a lake community sounds great. Would you be able to go direct through the garage to your house? That makes such a difference. Is it a gated community? Try not to eat "comfort food" if you can help it as it does sound like you have a great added incentive to avoid it. Sorry you have had this stress. Buying or building a house is stressful/exciting/stressful! xo Cate

Thanks guys.
Well I went ahead and put in an offer to purchase on the place in the lake community. (It has everything included...I hope... like fence, double car garage, landscaping etc.) It still will be a rocky road before it's all said and down as I will likely have to borrow some money from my mom for a deposit until I sell my current place and can pay her back, as well as get more money for a down payment. Depending on how much I need for a deposit will determine if my mom is comfortable lending me the money, especially since we are likely a year away from it being completed (which will be torture)
These guys are also waiting on getting the actual permits so I need to cross my fingers that everything goes proper with them, unlike the last place (they couldn't get the permits to build the garages as they were too close to powerboxes or something).
Won't be able to relax until that has all come through. When they get the permits also determines when it will be started to be built and will take about 8months from breaking ground to finished. (crossing fingers for 8-10 months from now, not 12+!)
The garage is detached, but that's why it can be sold as a street town/single family, which is freehold, rather than a townhouse, which is a condo. Plus it allows for a yard which a lot of townhomes don't. It isn't gated but only residence and their guests are allowed to use the lake.

I did pretty decent today. I did enter things into MFP but they are mostly guestimates. When I make my lasagna next I need to actual measure and enter it as a recipe so I know the actual cals, and I was at my mom's for supper so just had to guess on some of the portion sizes and such (we had mini farmer sausage in a bun with condiments, fries and ketchup) I also had a can of coke when I was signing the offer to purchase on the house. Cals were around 1900 supposedly, which I was a tad sad about since I thought I had done ok today. Will be more careful tomorrow.

I also went for a nice decent lengthed walk with my mom and all the dogs after supper.

Thank you.

Today, for the first time in AGES, I ate an appropriate amount of calories!! 1508 was my final (roughly, I THINK my lasagna is a little less than the one I have been using on MFP but till I make it again I don't have an exact amount for that).
I also wore my fitbit for the first time in forever. Unfortunately I forgot to take it off while I rode my horse and that always makes the numbers super wonky. Adds about 3000 steps, and added 3 flights of stairs, which of course makes the cals higher than they should be. I did go in and manually change my cals and so far am at about 2066 cals. I've walked around 6000 steps. I think I am going to go for a walk and try to get them 7500.

My banker feels that I'll probably be ok to get the mortgage without too much deposit, but my bankers likes to get ones hopes up haha.
I'm gearing up for a horse show in a couple of weeks, so really gotta be very diligent about riding. With all that's going on with the house situation and work being quite busy (had a week and a half of slightly slower work, but it's shot back up to busy again) I can sometimes feel a bit tired and lazy. But If I don't ride as I should, we will be less likely to have a good show. And my horse just recently had to have some time off due to a face abscess he somehow managed to get.
For those that have not seen me and my horse here's a quick pic

The two of you look really great together! And having an extra incentive to go riding will probably help with the eating and exercise, yesno?

Thank you. Going to the barn definitely takes up some of my evening, and I tend to over eat most in the evening so it does help to keep busy.

I did go for a walk today, quite a long one, and actually racked up about 11000 steps (14400 is what my fitbit said, but I have to minus 3000 for riding) and just under 2500 cals.
Gonna make sure I take my fitbit off for riding tomorrow to get a more accurate step/cal count (though I did go back and 'fix' that calorie count from riding, but you can't fix the step count)

That's a great photo Mystic! Well done on having a good day! Give some thought to changing your diary settings please so your MFP friends(incl me :)) we can look at what you eat. If nothing else, I find it interesting. I used to keep mine hidden. I won't mention anything you eat in here, if you do, I promise, xo Cate

Just popping in with my weigh in. 170.2. Happy to see that number starting to go down despite only 2 days of relatively decent eating.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Angie. I want to wish everyone well on your weight loss journey. It took me about a year to lose over 60 pounds in a healthy, natural manner. I am so happy for the journey and it has taught me so much about myself. Feel free to check out my before and after pictures on my facebook page.

My goal now is to help people along their journey. I am so blessed. Giving back to help others is very gratifying!

Best wishes!

I'm not decided yet if I will open my diary on MFP or not. I don't really care to have people comment on WHAT I ate, I just want it to be under my allowed calories.

I had meant to take one of my enchiladas to work today as well as strawberries for lunch, but totally forgot my strawberries. My enchilada is only about 288 cals or so, and I didn't have anything else to eat till I got home from my riding lesson at about 6:30 so was pretty hungry. I also had wanted to bring my water bottle along (I like to fill it most of the way with water, then freeze it over night so I have cold water all day). I'm so bad about drinking water that 90% of the time on a work day I don't drink anything from the evening before until I get home from work and riding. So I go about 20+ hours without drinking anything. Helps to not have to pee too much, but probably not wise.
Got great news that my brother, who currently lives about 8 hours away is going to be moving back to our city! At one point in time both of my brothers lived about 8 hours away (and not close to each other either), a year or so ago my older brother and his family moved back and now my younger brother and his family is moving back (and are pregnant with their 2nd kid). It will be so great for all of us to be back together again.

I also had a great riding lesson today. My horse tried really hard even when it was difficult.

Food wise I did great!! I love it when you get to the end of the day and have TONS of calories left over, so you can have that snack and not be all worried about going over. I finished my cals at about 1312. I'm aiming for around 1400-1500 during the week a day so I have a bit of play on the weekends. That worked well for me last time. I'm also gonna try to finish eating around 9:00pm, not for any 'don't eat after 7pm' diet reasoning, but because I tend to overeat in the evenings having a but off time helps me to stop.

I also walked 13,400 steps (went for a LONG walk in the evening), 10 flights of stairs (though my fitbit missed a flight so said 9), went 5.69 miles, and burned 2400 cals. I really want to add in some 30DS or something but haven't yet had the gumption.

Quite happy with today.

Water retained in your tissue gets in the way of a fine figure as much as fat does so it´s just as great to get rid of it. Congratulations!

Anyone else having issues replying? My message area is blank (no box to write in) so I have to click 'submit reply' which then opens up to the next screen that says 'your message is too short' (duh, because there is no message box to write in) and then I can reply in that box.

Anywho. Had a really lazy day today. Work wasn't lazy, but I felt so spent after it (it wasn't a super hard day either) that instead of riding I went home afterwards. I then almost didn't go for a walk (my steps for the day at that point was like 4000) partly due to laziness, and partly due to it lightening like crazy outside. But I DO have a gym IN my building, so the lightening REALLY wasn't an excuse. Finally at 9:30 I got my butt up off the couch and went down to the gym. Had to do 50 mins at a pace of about 3.8 to get my 10,000 steps in.
I also walked 5 miles altogether today, did 12 flights of stairs (possibly 1 or 2 more as my fitbit usually misses a couple), and burned about 2300 cals (for the day).
Was over 100% on everything so happy with that, especially since I so wanted to do nothing. My fitbit really helped me to get myself going today.

Ate well too. Ended up a bit below 1500 cals. Since I got home fairly early compared to usual I was worried that I might over eat having so much spare time to toodle away. So instead of making the food that I had prepared that was just a microwave away from being ready to eat, I made a casserole which took probably an hour and a half to make. I ate some strawberries while waiting, but pushed back my dinner to a more normal dinner time then what I might have if I was just warming something up in the microwave.
One more day of work then a long weekend! Might check out a dog show that is going on this weekend, want to do something outdoorsy on sunday. I wanted to do a hike but my friend isn't into hikes so maybe a bike ride or something. If I felt more comfy in a bathing suit we'd probably hit the beach but alas, not this year. Next year baby!

Still can't convince myself to do any actual 'hard' exercise even though I know it's much more beneficial than walking. Gonna keep trying to convince myself. It's like, I can either do something that makes me move, think, jump around for 30 mins that's far more beneficial than walking, or I can slowly put one foot in front of the other for a 50 min walk. It should be an easier choice than it is.

I'm having exactly the same trouble & have to click on "go advanced" every time. I thought it was something to do with my internet connection! Phew! I'll report it in a sec.
Great day Mystic!!
You pushed yourself when you felt lazy & you ate really well. Fantastic! I am going to make sure I have a better day today, but I do need to go change into my exercise gear. I'm dressed for "town" & we don't have air-con & I'm feeling lazy...... There! You have inspired me to get off my butt. Thanks Mystic, xo Cate

Good work on the diet and the walking. The hard exercise is the hard part. Hence the word 'hard'. :) But you'll get there, it's not good to kill yourself right after starting back up anyway.

Thanks MrVee. I'm gonna try hard to do 3DS today. Crossing fingers.

Since today was a friday, as so an 'official weigh in' day here are the stats.

Starting Weight: 171
Current Weight: 169 (-2)
Mini Goal Weight: 165 by August 15th
Goal Weight: 120

4 pounds to go till I hit my mini goal weight. And only 2 weeks to do it.

So, unfortunately, I did not gather the energy to do 30ds NOR get in my 10,000 steps.
I did however stick to my calories, coming in under 1500. Walked about 6200 steps, 8 flights of stairs, 2.6 mi, and 2055 calories burned. Still a 500 cal deficit which is good.
On the weekends I will allow a little more freedom with what I eat (I eat less than I need to during the week so even with eating more on weekends my weekly average 'per day' cal count is 1700), but I'm gonna try to be quite active as well.
Gonna try for 13000 steps tomorrow, hopefully with 30ds thrown in.
