Happy Happy Happy with myself today.
Work was ok. I hate working Saturdays, then only having a one day weekend, then a 6 day work week right after. The 6 day work week isn't SO bad as the days just kinda blend together and you forget how many you have worked, but the one day weekends are killer. I got off work around 1pm.
I then headed to the barn. I tried to make every task at the barn aid in my step count.
I usually let my horse graze for a bit before I bring him in to ride. Usually just for a minute or 2 but today I let him graze longer as I brought my step count from under 2000 to 3000.
Then as I was getting him ready I took one thing from my tack box at a time to bring over and use so I had to make as many trips as possible. I didn't think, so put him in a tack stall close to my box so I made extra loops in my walk there and back to get in more steps. I was shocked to see I had gone from 3000 steps to 4000 steps just while tacking him up.
I wanted to ride outside today since it's gonna be one of the last nice days before fall/winter. The outdoor arena was too wet to ride in so I went on a trail ride. It was going great till just before I went to turn around. Suddenly Elis (my horse) saw a group of 'horse eating' horses! The other horses we had passed on our trip were obviously herbivores, but he knew these horses were cannibals. We went sideways and backwards down into a steep, deep ditch (though he was gonna lose his footing and fall straight down on top of me) in his attempt to save us both from these crazy beasts that obviously threatened our very lives.
Ya, my horse is kinda dumb.
We did finally get our crap together and relaxed enough for a nice ride home.
After getting back to the barn I again tried to do as many extra steps while untacking as I could. I told myself even before tacking up that I wanted to get to 6000 steps before leaving the barn. After I gave him a cooling spray down I let him graze again while I worked on getting more steps in. I tried looking for more frogs but came up empty. After a bit I made my 6000 steps, but Elis away and headed home.
Got home around 4. Relaxed for a little bit while searching for quiche recipes.
I found one to try and at 5ish I started to make it for supper. I used a lot off egg whites and just a couple whole eggs to really bring the calories down. I put it in the oven and set the timer and I had MEANT to do my DVD as it was baking but totally forgot till it was too late. I ate a couple pieces, and had originally planned to have 3 pieces, but after 2, even though they were quite good, I was craving something sweeter so had a bowl of grapes.
I then did my Jillian DVD. I've been switching it up and not doing 'the plan'. Did RI30 Week 1 the first day I did it, the next day I did week 2 and today I did week 3. Not entirely sure why. I think partly cause I don't want to get bored with doing the same workout for a week.
This got my steps to around 7800, but since I was so bad yesterday and did so few steps I really wanted to also get my steps in. It was already nearly 8pm and my friend wanted to hang out at 9, but I was determined to get my steps. So I got ready and headed down to the gym where I ran 7 mins at a speed of 5.5 (I started at 4.7 but it felt too easy, so I moved to 5.0, but it still felt to easy, so I moved it to 5.5). At the end of the 7 mins I was feeling my combined workout so I walked for a min then ran for another 7 mins at 5.0 (I think), walked a minute, then ran 4 mins at 4.7 to bring it up to the 20 min mark. I think walked for 5 mins before getting off.
I headed to my friend's house with still having over 500 cals left for the day. I had decided to allow myself a can or 2 of coke and maybe some popcorn if I fit it into my cals. I got to my friend's place and he had no coke left, he only had 'crappy' drinks, so we ended up walking to the convenience store to get some. It actually saved me some cals because instead of 2 cans of coke (160 each time 2 = 320 cals) I got a small bottle with was 260 cals. I then had half a bag of popcorn.
I got home and took the stairs up to my apartment, let my dog out and we went down the stairs to outside so he could go to the bathroom. Walked around to another entrance of the building, both for the extra walking as well as to drop off the bag of poo, then back down the hall and to the stairs again. I was after 12 so it counts towards 'tomorrow's' totals but I wanted to write about it now because it seems like something that happened 'today' and that I won't remember after a nights sleep 'tomorrow'.
