I read your post and started laughing. I have the same thinking always when I see the people putting too high incline on the treadmill :D People holding on with the hands and the legs are half flying all the time :) I always have the idea to go to those people and say something, but I am afraid they can take it not that well :(

But otherwise MysticRealm you are doing great job. Was reading your previous diary as well and it seems once you set the mind to losing weight, you just go for your goal!! :)

You've made some great progress!

Record your steps for the day before you use the treadmill a few times and then you'll know a good average. The nyou can work hard at whatever you want for an equal time that it takes on the treadmill to reach your step goal and you have met your goal as far as calories burned/work done. Variety is great physically and mentally. I hope you get to the 150's soon.

So after bad mouthing my fitbit yesterday, I LOST it today!!
I was busy with work and painting my grooming shop, and know roughly how many steps I get at work during the day so really didn't need to check it.
I get home after work and grocery shopping and take out my phone to sync it to my fitbit and it doesn't sync. I quickly go to look at it only to discover it's not there!! For some reason it's been getting jostled a little loose lately, and had fallen off once before on another day but I noticed it right away. I texted my mom that I lost it and she asked when I had had it. I told her that I had put it on in the morning but hadn't checked it during the day so I had no idea when I had had it last. I immediately went back to my vehicle and drove to work. I turned my phone app on so I could see if it would sync as I was searching so I would know that I was getting close. My shops a bit of a mess due to the fact that we are painting so a lot of places for it to hide. I searched the entire place, including sticking my phone into the vacuum canister to ensure it didn't get sucked up as we were vacuuming. No dice, it never synced and I didn't see anything. I also checked outside my shop on the line I took to get to and from my car for the day. Nothing.
So then I had to go to the grocery store. I asked at customer service if anyone had turned it in, but they didn't. My worst fear was that either it had fallen off while in the parking lots and was crushed by a car, or someone had just picked it up and taken it. I again tried to use my phone to help me search, walking along slightly bent over to get my phone closer to the ground, man did I get some weird looks! Heard someone say 'what the hell?!' as I walked by, and another actually asked me what I was doing haha.
Well, I had no luck in the grocery store. I then remembered that I had gone to the drugstore next to my shop for a few things during the day, so I drove back to my shop and searched where I went in the drugstore and asked the lady at the front if someone had turned something in. Again I left empty handed.
I then had one last hope and thought. Maybe I had just THOUGHT I put it on in the morning, because I put it on every morning, but actually hadn't. I drove back to my house and took the stairs up to check the stairwell, nothing there. I was thinking, usually I would have left my fitbit in the bathroom where I normally change so why would it have not synced if that's where I had left it since I was, uh hem... on the toilet when I had tried to sync my phone earlier. I got home, went right to the bathroom and it wasn't there :(
Before I went on this wild goose chase I had put a load of laundry in the washer, it hit me that maybe I had actually forgotten to take my fitbit off my night shirt, and my night shirt was in the washer. Find my night shirt in there and low and behold, there's my fit bit! Still clipped on tight! I pray as I hit the button to see if it was still alive... it worked!!! It survived a full wash cycle in my washer!! Hurray!!
I was so worried I would have to shell out another 100 or so bucks for another one, then be without one for a while!
However the search did stress me out today and I didn't have the best day. I have no idea my steps (though searching for it all over certainly would have added up to quite a few!) or stairs or miles of cals burned, but I would say I likely ate at or below maintenance today.
I didn't do any additional walking, and didn't eat great. Not horrendous, but not great.
Finished just under 2100 cals, but I wanted to have a good day as I know I won't eat great due to camping all this weekend.

Official Weigh in Day

Starting Weight: 171
Current Weight: 161.4 (-1.2)
New Mini Goal: 158 by Sept 12th
Mini Goal Weight: 165 by August 15th *Made it by August 15*
Goal Weight: 120

Not a crazy drop, but I didn't have the best week so I'm happy with it, and if I try hard I could still make my next mini goal.

A couple of extra notes.
I don't understand why people put the incline so high on the treamill, then hang onto the front of the treadmill the whole time! It completely defeats the purpose of you have the incline so high!
Because people be crazy!

I see this all the time too. As long as you don't go too fast, it shouldn't be too hard to keep your balance at the max 15% incline without holding anything. Depending on what kind of shape you're in it could tire you out in a big hurry, but you should be able to stay balanced.

I'm glad you found your fitbit and it's now the cleanest fitbit in all of Canada! Congrats!

Also congrats on the low number on the scale.

Thank you.
Back from camping today. Overall it was a good time. I don't think I got all my steps in everyday, which I was a little surprised by, but you do spend a lot of time just sitting around the campfire so I can understand. We did one short trip where we did a short 'hike' so got him some hills there, and went to a museum once day so got some steps in. The most steps I got was Saturday night from 1am to 7:30am where I was up sick almost all night (I think due to too many sweets and such during the day) and I felt best walking around, rather than sitting or lying down. I walked about 5000 steps during that time.
The next day I made sure to eat much less and no sweets and had a much better night this last night.
My cals will have been too high I'm sure, but tomorrow I will get right back on track and there shouldn't be much damage.

Here are my fitbit stats for the last few days
Friday:
Steps: 3,600
Stairs: 5
Miles: 1.52
Calories Burned: 2027

Saturday:
Steps: 7,400
Stairs: 42
Miles: 3.12
Calories Burned: 2159

Sunday:
Steps: 8,900
Stairs: 13
Miles: 3.74
Calories Burned: 1908 (weird that I burned less this day than I did on friday even though I did a lot more steps, stairs, and miles)

Will post later today for what my fitbit says I did today. Not expecting high numbers unless I can convince myself to get on the treadmill.

Sounds like an enjoyable week-end Mystic. That won't have done you any harm. Cheers, Cate

Really happy with myself today.
I went for supper at my mom's, didn't pay much mind to how much I was eating, and had a can of pop.
However I got home, changed, and headed to the gym. I was initially gonna try to just get in as many steps as I could but I wouldn't force myself to get the full 10,000 if I didn't feel like it. When I got to the gym I decided I'd try to be good and run 10mins, walk 1 min and get my steps.
I started to run (after a 5 min walk warm up) and as I got close to the 10 min run mark I thought I was still feeling really good so I decided I'd try to run till the 15 min mark. I put my towel over the timer on the treadmill so I couldn't constantly check it and tried to lose myself in my show. I also upped my running speed from 4.7 to 5. I then I just kept running, not only running, but feeling good doing it. I ran for 39 mins straight (which is when I hit my 10,000 steps), then bumped my speed up to 8 to sprint the last minute. I then cooled out with a 10 min walk. I couldn't believe how good I felt the whole run. I do think it helped a lot that I couldn't just look up and check my time, I had to move my towel so I did it less and could lose myself in my show, but I also think I'm gaining a bit of fitness. I'm just really happy that I didn't just try to be lazy and think 'I'll pick it back up tomorrow', but that I just did it and felt good doing it.
I don't know my cals for the day, but I will be back to tracking tomorrow.

Today's Totals:
Steps: 11,600
Stairs: 7 (I thought I had reached my stairs, but it showed I had gone up 4 flights of stairs while driving home from camping so I minused that from the 11 it said I had)
Miles: 5.67
Calories Burned: 2141 (at 11pm)

Thanks.
163.4 this morning due to the camping trip and higher sodium foods. Hopefully I can get it to drop by official weigh in on friday.

A good day today.
Decent day at work, got a little more painting done in my shop.
Went and worked my horse. I didn't ride but 'lunged' him (had him loose in the arena and made him walk trot and canter) and made sure I really kept moving to get more steps in. I was listening to music so by the time I was done working him I was dancing and singing all around the arena. I danced around so much that instead of being around 4-5 thousands steps at that point in the day I was at over 8000 steps.
Since I got so many steps in and want to get back into weight lifting I decided to skip the treadmill and do jillian micheals dvd. I did workout one on RI30. I got a good workout in, was sweating, feeling the burn. I was surprised that it only gave me around 1000-1500 steps of so, so that's something I'll have to remember.
Even after that workout, I did get my steps, but not my miles. I also didn't get my stairs for the day (knew I wouldn't get any stairs from the dvd). So I went out and wandered the halls of my condo building (which is huge). Went back and forth a bit, down hallways I've never been down, all the way to elevator number 5 (there are at least 1 to 2 more elevators in my building) up and down stairs till I finally accumulated enough to fulfill my daily requirements (though as I say that, I wonder if my fitbit accounted for my stairs properly. I wonder if it didn't add some stairs where I didn't do stairs, such as while driving)
Made a yummy chicken recipe today.

Today's Totals
Calories: 1401
Steps: 12,000
Stairs: It says 11 but looking at the times it said I took 3 of those flights, I wonder if it actually wasn't 8 flights, though I also know that it misread me as doing less stairs than I did while walking around my building so maybe it all evens out)
Miles: 5.04
Calories Burned: 2322 (at 10:30pm)

Toda's Deficit: 921

Great job on the running.

While you were dancing and singing around the arena, did your horse give you any funny looks?

Thank you.
I went clothes shopping today after work for the first time since last november. I was slightly dreading it, since I am still a long way from being at all close to my ideal weight and lately(ie. since I got fat again) anytime I've gone shopping (or even tried on a lot of my clothes if I haven't worn them in a while) I just feel super fat and like nothing looks good on me. Virtually EVERYTHING looked quite good on me. I fit into medium sized shirts all round, no larges. I did buy 2 things that will look better once I lose about 10 more pounds (the shirt will look better sooner than the dress) but, especially the shirt, isn't unwearable at my current weight. It made my really happy to try things on and feel like I looked good in them. I only went shopping today cause my mom had a big discount coupon for the store so I got 150 bucks off my 390 dollar purchase.
It did disrupt my schedule a bit in terms of working out and I couldn't get to the barn. I did go to the treadmill and get my steps/miles in, even had it at a slight incline (though not near as much as the girl next to me who was hanging onto the treadmill for dear life :willy_nilly: ). I THINK what I'm gonna try to do is do one day making sure I get all my steps in, then do a jillian DVD the next day, while trying to get maybe 7000 steps in. It's amazing how much it often takes to even get it to 7000. I will have to see what those days look like. I mostly should focus on my calorie burn, especially those days, than my steps.
Ate well. Had my usual sandwich for lunch, had tomato soup w/ cheese and garlic, and saltine crackers for supper. I got a 170 frozen yogurt treat at the mall, and after my workout I had grapes and watermelon.

Today's Totals
Calories: 1401
Steps: 11,000
Stairs: 12
Miles: 5.3
Calories Burned: 2159 (at 10:30pm)

Today's Deficit: 758

Note to Self: Buy more 'perfect portions' baggies.
I went to bake up some chicken for a recipe today. Only needed a couple of chicken breasts, however I ran out of thos little baggies I use to separate my chicken before it goes into a bigger ziplock back then into the freezer. I should have used my head and done other things to make sure they didn't all stick together but I hadn't felt like putting the effort in at the time. Now I ended up with a massive chunk of like 8 small chicken breasts all stuck together. I tried to microwave them a tiny bit to see if I could get them separated, but by the time I could get them mostly apart I had had to microwave them so much that they were too thawed to refreeze. So I had to bake them all. Was going to make a chicken enchilada recipe today and a ground beef lasagna (so I had food in my freezer for the next couple weeks), but due to my chicken incident I had to look up something else to make with chicken and cottage cheese (my cottage cheese needed to be used before it went old), so ended up with Chicken lasagna.
I had went to the barn today, tried to get in as many steps there as I could. When I got home I got my chickens all baked, my lasagna made and put into the oven, I then did my jillian dvd workout while my food was baking. After that I still had some time before my food was done so I got everything ready for the enchiladas I'll bake up tomorrow and put that in the freezer. By the time my food was finally done it was already 8:30. I could have a pretty big piece (really 2 pieces), but still had cals for watermelon and grapes. I was so full by the end of having my lasagna, watermelon, and grapes, all roughly within an hour time frame, that I couldn't even finish my grapes and I was still under my cal goal by over 100. Couldn't eat anymore though.

I didn't get my steps in today because I did the jillian DVD. I had been hoping to get in at least 7000 steps still, but even with doing a lot of extra walking/dancing/jogging at the barn I couldn't get there. I did make sure to get my stairs in, but didn't make my mile goal either.
It's hard to accept not getting those goals done, but to do that and the jillian dvd's just seems like a LOT of working out in one day and I don't want to burn myself out and dread my crazy long, hard workouts everyday.
Found a cute frog at the barn today. Was able to catch him (frogs are quite easy to catch, I'm surprised that they live very long haha).
