A belated happy birthday to your mom! Hope you´re having fun running that obstacle course today and the cravings stay away despite the calorie burn.

Your killing it on the step count on your fitbit! I just got mine yesterday and synced it to my account last night, too late to make a really good day one. And today is sunday and its house cleaning and meal prep day (a new thing for me), so I'm not getting as many as I'd like.

Thanks guys. I've really enjoyed having my fitbit connected to MFP. Great motivator and sometimes I get to eat more!

Today I had my Spartan 5km race. OMG was it ever muddy and disgusting. We had a good bit of rain the last few days and it was at a bmx bike race track so it was all mud/dirt to start off with, but the rain made it much much worse. Ankle deep half the time. Tons of running up and down hills to start which seemed surprisingly easy. The obstacles though were tough. The first real obstacle was monkey bars. I kept seeing people fall off them while I was waiting for my turn to go and wondered why people found monkey bars so hard, but the trouble was that they had ZERO grip, then they were slippery from mud from people's hands. I could not hold onto them. When you don't complete an obstacle you have to do 30 burpees before being allowed to continue. I did probably 6 sets of burpees. One at the monkey bars, one at the balance beam (only a 2X4 stood up so you had to walk on the 2" part), one at this wall you had to shimmy around, one at a rope you had to climb straight up like 20ft, and I can't remember what the other 1-2 I failed at were. I probably accomplished 3 or 4 obstacles on my own but the rest I needed a helping hand with. And the fire you had to jump wasn't working for my round so that was disappointing. It wasn't quite the 'feel good' race that my first race was were I could accomplish everything and run the whole thing, but maybe it was a better view of what my tough mudder might be like, though I hope I can accomplish a few more obstacles unassisted. The big things I need to work on are upper body strength and almost as important, grip strength, however I won't be able to build those up by as much as I need in the 3 weeks before my tough mudder.

I then went home and had a long HOT shower, changed into fleece-y comfy pj's and relaxed for a while, but then I did get myself up twice throughout the day to go for walks.
I ended up eating more than I thought I'd be able to while still staying under my weekly goal!

Nice job on your race! Obstacle based races are much less predictable so training is tougher and perfection is at least partially a matter of chance.

Thanks guys.

A big jump up to 147.2 this morning for whatever reason. It could be sore muscles from the race yesterday. My upper body (arms, abs, back, chest) are quite stiff. My lower body is ok though, I think due to my running, then hiking and sports this last month too.

So SHOULD have lost a pound last week.

BAD eating day today. Felt really tired, especially at the end of the day. I got home and just 'needed' to eat. So I had 2 servings of chocolate. I then though I had gotten things under control when I forced myself to get up and go walk to the grocery store. But on the way I ended up going to the mall and getting a slice of pizza and garlic roll, then a large frozen yogurt. After my grocery shop I came home and just kept eating. And couldn't convince myself to do any more walking.
I think I can still recover from this and eat under my weekly cals but I just can't seem to truly getting my eating under control for the last 6+ weeks. But I suppose I just need to keep trying because at least then I won't fall totally off track.
I need to clean my house as there is someone likely coming to look at it tomorrow (they wanted to come today, but with only 10 mins notice while I was at work and my house was NOT clean). It's already 10:15 and I should for sure be in bed by 11 so I really need to get going with that.
In a bit of a tift with my best friend. I asked her to come support me at my race on sunday and she chose to hang out with the guy she's seeing instead so I got a bit upset with her and now she's upset with me for getting upset with her.

You can be really proud of yourself for not throwing in the towel and actually counting the calories you ate! I think it´s normal to feel more hungry after an event like your Spartan run, maybe you could try eating more (slow-release) carbs after physical strain? I know you´re supposed to have protein but we normally all eat plenty of those anyway and I find that a large plate of wholemeal pasta (with veg and other healthy stuff) helps keep me away from the snacks later. The weight-jump definitely sounds like water weight though!

:iagree: with all the above Mystic! Water weight for sure & you will lose weight because you're working hard & are so determined! Good luck with the showing!! xoC

Thanks guys. I really was not hungry, I just haven't quite beaten these cravings/bad eating habits. I generally don't have an issue eating carbs though!

147.6 this morning due to my bad eating day yesterday.

Well, I nearly made up for half of my over eating that I did yesterday with today's food/exercise. So just a couple more days if I'm good and I should have it 'paid off'.
Got off work a bit early then went home and went on the treadmill. It was actually a weight lifting day but my arms were still quite sore from the race and I wanted to burn off as many cals as I could to make up for yesterday's bad eating so decided to just do a cardio day. Spent 65 min on the treadmill, 50 mins of those running. 5.64 miles.
I then got my lazy butt to the barn to ride my horse! He was quite a good boy. Had to move some jump equipment around and oh boy were there spiders!
I then went to my mom's house as most of the family was down for supper. Had 2 pieces of pie instead of the 1 I should have had. After most people left I took my poodle and my mom's doberman out for a walk. It was a really pleasant walk until... halfway through I suddenly had to pee, and BADLY. I was probably a good 3km's away from home. It's a new community so there are no stores or gas stations! I tried to go to one of the show homes along my walk but they were already closed! I STRONGLY debated upon knocking on a stranger's door to beg to use their toilet! I finally decided that I could (would?) make it and walked as fast as my bladder could handle back to my mom's house. I made it but it was tough!

Calories Eaten: 1413 (I had to guess on the calories in my pie pieces but hopefully that's pretty close)

Ah, the joys of being a woman... On the other hand: when an unknown man with a dobermann in tow knocks on a door hoping to use the toilet it´s quite a bit less likely to open than when a woman does :) Back in the day when I´d go hiking with my sister I had quite a lot of gut trouble and if it hit me in populated areas there would be no other option than to ask random strangers. They were always nice about it and let me in, but I´m not sure I´d do the same if I were alone.

I'm very glad you made it back to your Mum's Mystic! :D There really should be more public toilets! Good for you having a good eating & exercising day. How did the showing go? xoC

Thanks guys! Yes, if there had even been a gas station I would have been so happy! The walk was less comfy for the last half!
I actually had 2 showings. Not sure how the one yesterday went, heard nothing from it. But I got back to my house close to when the people today were about to leave. I hid down the hall (didn't want them to see the dog), and when they left I head the lady say 'I liked this one' and 'I really like this one' so crossing fingers they pursue it further.

145.4 this morning. Nice to see it coming down but it still so high up yet.

Busy day today. Had a light day of work, only working till around 2 (we slow down due to school starting), then headed to the barn to ride my horse. Really want to get him fit and in shape for some shows in October so I can have him for sale then.
After that I came home and had a snack as I was feeling hungry and knew I wouldn't eat till pretty late. Just before 5 I headed out for an hour walk with my dog because my house was being shown from 5-6. Probably was a 6ish km walk.
I then changed and drove over to have a 'run date' with a guy I met on the meetup group. He was the first guy that contacted me and then I never heard back from him. I guess he didn't frequent the meetup group site and so didn't see my message till last week. It was a pretty good time. Definitely pushed me speed wise for the distance, then we accidentally went 9km instead of the 7-8 I had planned. Decent conversation, and we ran around a reservoir that was quite pretty.
However close to the end of the run suddenly I felt terribly pain in the back of my thigh! I had gotten STUNG by something! Little fucker! I was minding my own business, running, so it had to just randomly choose to land on me as I was running just to sting me for no reason! I assume it was a wasp. I was painful for the rest of the run. All swollen and sore now. I may be going to a big fireworks display with the same dude tomorrow.
Didn't eat supper till close to 8pm.
Managed to make up for some more cals from my over eating on monday. Will have to see if I feel hungry tomorrow from having some larger deficits the last couple days.

Cals Eaten: 1628

That sounds like a great way to get to know someone. Was he nice to you when you got stung? That's important :) I hope you do go see the fireworks with him, that sounds like a date-date to me.

Thanks guys. WHen I got stung I yelled Ouch (and probably some profanities), and he said 'got stung' I said 'ya' then we kept running haha. It was a sting not a broken leg.

I woke up this morning with my tummy feeling like I had eaten too much bad food yesterday, despite it being a good day. Just a hair upset, like I would need to spend a bit of time on the toilet (sorry).
Got to work and initially I thought I might puke and felt quite bad. I almost called in my groomer to come groom my dogs so I could go home. But the feeling passed a bit and I had an easy day of only 3 dogs (we slow down around the start of school) so I got them done. Started to feel worse as the day went on.
Headed home around 1:15, crawled into bed and fell asleep off and on. By 3:30 I woke up and felt just awful. My chest is tight, I have a fever, my stomach is threatening out of both ends (and actually exiting liquid out the one end... sorry again tmi), sore joints, head fuzzy.
I called my mom and she brought me soda crackers and 7-up. She made me take a shower to cool my fever down and stayed with me a while till she had to meet someone.
Obviously I didn't go to the fireworks with that guy, however I plan to go to them on Saturday (it's a week long thing) with him. During my sleep right after work I actually had a nightmare about him! He broke into my mom's house twice, acted all creepy, brought a homeless guy friend with him, shot a flare type gun in the house (though no flares came out). Haha, no idea what that was about.
I told him I was sick and so couldn't go and he offered to bring my soup or something. I denied it (don't know him well enough to have him come to my house alone and don't need him seeing me all gross and sick yet if things are going to go farther) but it was nice of him.
My tummy troubles eased off a little around 5ish, probably cause there ain't much left in there, but still am often quite feverish and my joints and chest still feel awful. Because my tummy settled a bit I did take an advil for the fever and joint pain so hopefully that will help me sleep.
I obviously did not eat much at all. All I had was the crackers and 7-up.
Calories Eaten: 550

My official weigh in tomorrow will probably be not very truthful, but maybe this will get off that water weight that's been hanging around haha. If I feel better tomorrow I will probably eat semi close to maintenance, and do a lighter workout but still do a workout. I worry about my long run on saturday. If I don't feel well yet, then I would only try to do some walking if I feel up to it and probably stick to my soda cracker and 7-up diet as much as I can eat.
Unfortunately we aren't slow enough at work tomorrow for me to not work at all, and I have one of my most annoying dogs to groom in tomorrow morning first thing. It screams and barks the whole time and tries to be very uncooperative. I will try to have my mom help me bath some dogs, and give my groomer as many as she can handle. We aren't swamped tomorrow so hoping to be done by noon.

I won't go around to other people's diaries today as I need to try to sleep (tried earlier this evening and couldn't) however there is a possibility I won't be able to and may be able to come around sometime during the night.

Poor thing, get well soon! The sting was probably a horse fly or something, a wasp wouldn´t sting without provocation. They can be bad!
