Well, my cals for yesterday(according to FitDay) were 1393. I burned off 383 with exercise. So, my total cals were 1010. Does that mean I had too few cals? Do my calories have to be 1200 BEFORE factoring in exercise or after?

I am hoping to be at least in the 190's by Christmas. Of course that is a small achievable goal. I wonder if I should not up it to something more difficult to keep me on track and challenged.

There is nothing wrong w/ a smaller goal. It may keep you from getting discouraged, as opposted to if you make a big goal and then fail to make it.

I'm in a hurry today, but i'll make sure to stop by a little later, ok??

A pretty good day today. I actually had the energy to run and play tag with the kids while at the playground today. This healthy life stuff is good for more than just me, I see:) I have a cold and I am SICK of it. I want to call in sick tomorrow, but mommies don't get days off.

Tomorrow is piano lessons and it is cardio day. I would love to see another drop in the scale, but who wouldn't right? I am going to be taken my measurements again in a few days....THAT is where I would really love to see the drop.
 
Tiffany, your doing fantastic, keep up the good work. It's so nice to have that extra energy isn't it?? YOU GO GIRL!!!!! :D You will have to show us some before and afters also. I see you've already lost 27lbs that's a lot of weight, I'm sure your seeing it already. Have a good rest of your day!!

Thanks, girls. I am SICK! I just had a cold the last few days, but I woke up this morning and I am just flat out sick now. UGH I could desperately use a day in bed. I am going to try and lay around as much as I can today. I feel like maybe the flu. My muscles hurt(but that COULD be from 45 minutes of weight training last night)lol
 
I'm sorry your not feeling well today. :( Your body probably hurts from the weight lifting, but be sure to drink a lot of fluids today. Does your stomach feel bad too?? You need sleep girlfriend, and more sleep. Maybe your hubby can help out a little tonight with the kids so you can get a little R&R. ;) I wish I could help!!! Well, I am only 3 hours away right?? LOL If I was closer I would help in a heart beat!! Take care of yourself.!!

I am so ill. It is amazing that I got any exercise at all since it is a chore to even hold my head up. I am taking a LARGE dose of NyQuil and going straight to bed. My husband cooked me home made Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner and is going to watch the kids while I sack out for the night. Ahhhhhhhhh.........zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I think it can be good for you.
Sweating out the bad stuff, as long as you aren't dehydrated and don't get dizzy.

I decided to get up in the morning and walk a bit before work. I'm only working a half day and it might give me a little bit of energy.

You raised a good question about the calorie/exercise thing. I wondered about that too.
Here's what I think...
You exercise for these reasons:

aerobic: to burn excess calories and/or to get your cardiovascular system healthy.

anaerobic/strength training: to build lean body mass, get stronger/tone.

Fun: you enjoy shaking your booty. ;)

So, in my opinion, you might want to set your calories on the day that you exercise a little more. Because if you're resting body needs 1200, then you probably should stay around that same amount after you exercise.
So even if it isn't just to burn extra calories its good for your heart!

If you're just doing the anaerobic exercise you probably won't burn as many calories so 1200 would probably be fine for that day.

Double check this, I'd hate to discourage you from doing whats positive for your body, but I'd not want you to do anything that is going to cause harm to it either :)
 
Morning Tif, I hope your feeling better ;) Your husband is a doll for making you soup and taking care of the kids while you sleep. I can't believe you worked out yesterday, DAMN!! are you trying to really drain yourself?? you need energy to heal, so take it easy and just relax for a couple days, don't worry about your work out so much, focus on healing your body and making a speedy recovery. I hope your up and going soon. Take care :)

Just checking in. I still don't feel 100%, but I am MUCH,MUCH better than I was.

I went back on the calorie calculator and posted a wuestion in Harsh Truth and have decided that I am ending up with too few cals after exercise. I devised a plan to change things up a bit. I will try it for a few weeks to see if it is effective before committing to it entirely. We shall see.

I hope all you that check in on me are doing wonderfully, I will be sure to stop by your diaries and check back on you soon. God bless.
 
YEAH!! Your back and better, I'm so happy!! You know you were my first bud on this website, I can't lose your support now. ;) Did you have the flu??? Oh I think your right on to few calories, I'm glad you see that, you need those calories to keep fuel in you to help give you that boost of energy to work out, AND keep you free of sickness. But, your on the right track again, keep going. I think maybe you and your hubby should take a little weekend venture out somewhere, and really get your strenghth back. Do you have the opportunity to do something like that??? You sound so busy taking care of children, school, house stuff. I think maybe this sickness was your body telling you to take some time off, enjoy yourself and savor the weight you have lost so far, because 20 something pounds is a lot. !! I can't wait to reach that goal. You should be proud of yourself, I am!!! :p I'll chat at you a little later, my hubby needs to check out his football teams website. Welcome back!

Thanks, Kim. And yes, there are plans in the works for an Aunt of mine(her name is Kim, too) to take the girls for a few days to a week and give me and Alan some much needed time off.

I start classes next Monday! so excited:) My weigh in today was 227!! I lost FIVE POUNDS this week!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I know not to expect that every week, but I intend to enjoy every second of it when it does happen.
 
YES!! Your taking time off to relax, Good for you! I need to do the same thing myself. Oh and 5lbs WOW, that's awesome, I'm happy for you, that just goes to show you work hard for something and it will happen. Good Job!!

And NO MA'AM! No more real pizza for me. I guess I never really payed attention to the calories in that stuff. HOLY COW! I ate some the other day and THEN looked to see how many cals...900! WHAT???!!!!?? That is about HALF my cals for the day...NO thank you! I will have to reserve it for VERY special times. But, I suppose we can still have "cyber pizza".

I took my measurements this morning and compared them to the ones I took about a month ago. I have lost about and inch all over the place....more in some places. Such as my waist..almost 2 inches!!

I need a better scale. Can anyone recommend one?

After you said this, I went ahead and tried on my next size down jeans. THEY FIT!!!!! They are not exactly the fit I want, but I can button and zip them with no grunting or sucking in...and NO lying on the bed to do them up! YAY!
I had noticed a few days ago that I could pull my current jeans down without unbuttoning or unzipping them. That HAS to mean progress, right!!??!
 
You Betcha!! I'm so proud of you Tif!! DANG, isn't that just an awesome feeling, getting into something smaller. You keep going, soon you will be wearing those hot jeans, you know the kind when you bend over your crack hangs out. LOL LOL hey the guys dig those jeans. Oh and don't forget to put that thong on to, that has to be showing as well to get the real effects. :D But all joking aside, you have done wonderful, Hip, hip, hurray for Tiffany!! two thumbs up my friend! :)
