But yeah, im still scared they wont allow me to do the donation. (donating a kidney for my brother for those new to my diary).

Can we write you letters of recommendation? I can't believe how they just use BMI -- what a crock!

arg another crap morning, clearly its not an allergy anymore but something else. My face is all swollen up again this morning.. more like an infection.
Rather than going to a doctor, ill snarfle some of the antibiotics i have stashed in a cupboard like the cheap person i am. If its still a problem tomorrow ill see the doc and postpone the hospital appt till next week.

I hate being sick :/

Sorry you are feeling well. Hope it's something that can resolve fairly quickly. I'm so happy for you that your weight is way within the range for your appt at the hospital. I'm really hoping that you will be allowed to have the surgery.
You are truly an awesome person!!

Swollen face, eh? Ever tried cetirizine type allergy meds? Zyrtec? Or the newer type levocetirizine, Xyzal the med's called here.. They are over the counter meds in small packages here, no side effects, so it's possible to try those and see if they help.
Or have you already found another explanation for the long face? :rotflmao:

Sorry you aren't feeling well! I hope your anitibiotics work!!! I totally save all kinds of medicines!! Going to the doctor is just not fun.... except the scale part:) I went on Monday and I was 36lbs down from the last time they weighed me:) It was a nice feeling:) I hope you feel better soon!!

Quick post here catching up with everyone here and updating my weight for a challenge.

Yeah gas is expensive here - since its summer cycling is a great idea.
Are you sure you're bike is too small? it costs next to nothing to take it to the bike shop and have it refitted especially for your size and weight. Most will do it free.
It would be infinatly cheaper to replace the seat or give the old one an overhaul than to buy an expensive new one.

The reasons i bought myself a brand new expensive one was because of the amount of riding i did (and i rode the old one to death lol), and also because i was trying to employ a hobby that i can continue after the weight is lost so it never comes back again.

As for the hobbies thing, ive tried running and weights amoung other things ... why limit myself :)

And on a brighter note! ive lost 7.2lb since the 1st of this month! im super happy! the hospitals scales will have to be a fair way out to weigh me over the exact weight now lol :D

Oh and arg - i have an allergy face - eyes all puffed up and looking like a shar pei dog :/

Yay and congrats on that big drop 7.2 is alot...........Lol my son is having bad
allergies but the doctors say he can't have the kind we have with the pollen and mold ect his are food related(NOT ) As soon as I take him outside his eyes start watering and swelling his nose starts running so I know he does have allergies plus my hubby as a child was alergic to everything I mean grass, bee's certain soaps laundry detyergents you name it.
I hope you get to feeling better and as for the hospital you are a hell of alot healthier today than a year ago and like you said losing a 100 lbs should put you as a donar? I really hope everything works out for you and your bro,Tammy

ok well face was worse this morning - i looked like that chick who had surgery to look like a cat and just looked plain ugly and f*&%$d up.

(Jocelyn Wildenstein)

Went to local hospital who said no hes pretty sure it IS an allergy not an infection (he seemed somewhat clueless though and perscribed me the same antihistamine im already taking). Ill continue with the antibiotics anyway to be on the safe side - its that bad.
I havnt done any exercise since the weekends 30km which sucked, im getting ansty sitting doing nothing. I might go do some laps tonight if i have time.

I went to the hospital, told reception my name and details then sat down, i noticed their scales in the corner so i jumped on ... it said 0.5kg to heavy for the operation (grr! that 0.5 extra was breakfast! i lost another lb overnight last night!).
Lucky for me the nurse saw me getting off when she came over to call me and just asked me 'oh how much did you weigh love?'
I did not even hesitate in lieing and saying 85kg - i call it sweedish rounding.

So, the blood tests and other were interesting. My liver is got odd results, i dont fully understand it (lotsa medical jargon).
Basicly one number is supposed to be between 0 and 45 and its 70 .. that could be attributed to either fatty liver which will sort itself with weight loss or just not have adjusted because of the loss.
A test done in 2003 (i dont ever reall having this test in 2003 seriously!) said that the very same anomaliy was detected back then but it was well over 100 then .. so whatever it is has improved.
Doctor was very happy with the weight loss btw :)
Anyway donation can go ahead so long as some other tests they do show that its functioning ok so thats good.
The other thing was that my resting heart rate is definatly 48, according to hospital digital recordery thingee. So thats down from the 90-100 it used to be.
And It turns out i have a heart murmer .... this is not a bad thing ... its because im fit - my heart is pumping blood so much more efficiantly that it makes a wooshing noise which is the mermur - but again they will double check and do tests to verify that again.
My blood pressure is 106/60 which is excellent. It used to be 140/85 last time i recall getting it checked.

So glad they OK'd the operation! Your numbers are great -- 106/60 is just incredible, and a resting pulse of 48 is getting near Lance Armstrong's! I have no idea what the liver stuff is all about, but I'm glad it's improving.

Hope your allergy clears up soon!

Howdy Wishes,
Yay congrats on the go ahead...also gr8 heart rate
blood preasure not sure what the liver thing means? I hope you have
a nice holiday weekend,Tammy

sorry to everyone - i havnt even posted anywhere but here once a day for the last half week whilst ive been sick. Arg i feel slack!

I very very very much appretiate your support and posts and comments. Im on a swath of drugs of which i cant drive on for some (darned super strength antihistamines) so im stoned half the time. When im not on those im on the sterioid pills which make me go the other way (somewhat hyper/crazy). Plus im still taking the antibiotics of course and my skin is now all peeling (though today the swelling was NOT worse for once .. not better yet .. but not worse!)
I never got to go cycling last night, i probably wouldnt have gone far if i had. However i did go up and visit the group and met some other woman who ride with them and had some great old yarns with them.
I said i would ride with them 2 weeks ago but so far ive been sick the entire time!
One of the guys even laughed and said 'you know one of these days you are gonna have to bring your bike to one of these rides ...'

Anyway now i have a full day of work ahead of me and im like 17 days behind schedule for numerous customers. Looks like i may have to put in some overtime this weekend :/

This might be a really stupid question, but have you by any chance changed your hair colour lately? My aunt had a crazy allergic reaction about a year ago from hair dye. The swelling on the face sounded familiar, so I asked her about it. She said yes, swelling of the face and the airways and later rash all over the body.
Anyway, ignore that if it's not relevant.
I hope the rest of the tests go well! :)
Juliette

Heh my hair is the least coloured its been in about 17 years :)
Its been blue, red, orange, green, pink, purple, etc etc .. every colour of the rainbow.

Currently its normal with blonde streaks, and nah im pretty sure its not an allergy, theres nothing wrong with my breathing or rest of me. Just the medication makes me feel odd.

Thanks though :D

well, darn im feeling tons better today. Tomorrow im riding my 90km! :D

My daughter now has a new $300 bike. Its a veryu very good one for the price. So tomorrow i go for 2 rides, one with a group in the morning and 1 in the arvo with my daughter.

Also in an attempt to encourage my kids into sports, my youngest daughter has taken up running.
So i have committed monday weds and friday running with one daughter and tuesday and thursday cycling with the other leaving me with sunday for cycling on my own or with daughter (depending on how far/fast we go) and saturday off unless there is a race

Hey you - Im sorry you havent been feeling well - glad to hear you are feeling better :) Congrats on the weight loss this month that is totally awesome you rock girl !!! It is also great you are supporting your girls and encouraging them to get more active and such :):):) What a great way to spend time together...

I'm sorry you're still not feeling well.

Congrats on your test results. Even though your liver test was 70 at least it majorly improved. It's funny because just yesterday I asked the dr we work with about the whole fatty liver thing. I was dictatyping all week and so a lot of the abdominal ultrasound reports had the whole fatty liver thing. I asked him what can cause it and he said things like drinking or being overweight. I asked if it will improve with weight loss and he said it would. I asked if there were any major risks with fatty liver and he said not really, he said it might slightly decrease liver function but nothing serious.

So don't worry about! There's nothing serious with it and it'll keep improving with along with the rest of you!

I hope you feel better soon!

Hey Wishes, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. I think I remember some of those hair colors from previous pictures. It is great that you're passing on your work out ethic to your children.

ok so i didnt do 90km today, did 55km. But i found a really awesome group to ride with so i will be going next week and every week thereafter also :)

Yeah im trying to encourage my kids to do more exercise. I made them up exercise log books, and explained that because they were USING more energy they got to eat more (they loved that idea lol)
My oldest daughter is like i used to be, very active, very skinny, and eats a ton of food. Ive tried to explain to her that when she slows down as an adult the bad eating habits are harder to get rid of ... anyway shes happy to realize that she needs to eat about 6 muesili bars an hour whilst riding the bike *G*

The blue hair was my fav <3

Girl, I got mad respect for your cycling skills. You're advanced and what great shape you must be in. My flat trail rides ain't jack compared to what you do and I already know I'll never be what you are on two wheels.

I'm glad to see you're feeling better.

Happy riding Wishy :)

HI Wishes *waves*

I have to tell ya, your doing such a great thing for your kids!! My kids are so thin and healthy, but I don't reallly encourage excersize like I should. Good for you! It inspires me to be more of a motivator for my kids!
