This Trucker Fights Back

Also, thanks live4fitness... I think if I gave myself a cheat day, that I would cheat after the cheat day because I wouldnt be able to stop. I think since I blew it Sunday, I told myself that I could blow it today too. Then one thing piled up after another, and I gave in and had an extremely bad food day. I am talking fried fish, fried potatoes, fried chicken, gumbo, ding dong... very bad day. And I know better! My worst fear, gaining it all back.

I am so sorry. Stress sucks!!!. If you can't do cheat days then by god don't ;) I love mine but I understand about how hard it is to get back on track. Some sundays are hard for me. Saturdays are my cheat days.

I had knee surgery last month and December was a hard month. We enjoyed the holidays a little too much, I think a little bit had to do with depression of the knee surgery and not getting to go to the gym like I like to. I gained 10 pounds:( :(. But now I am back on track. I have a goal of abs my summer time. We shall see.

Hello T2, Looks like they stole your thread again!

It's ok really, I'm not comfortable with the 'resident expert' thing anyhow. Clearly it's best left in the hands of those 'qualified'

Well I got 2 miles in on the bike last night and another 2.7 this morning. The current weather pattern indicates the bike will more than likely be my poison for a good while, after today it looks like not much above single digit and teen degrees will be the norm for daytime highs. It was just a matter of time before the 'real' winter reared its ugly head. All I can do is be thankful I have another option here for my walking.

Being mindful of spamming (which I don't like) I do have to challenge you to research a man named Dr. Timothy Brantley. He just appeared on TV and brought out clear containers of what the average American eats per year in sugar and fat. I almost fell out of my chair seeing what 156 pounds of meat fat looks like !! Another perspective is that almost exactly the amount of fat I lost and it really hit home.

I don't sway very easily into the 'I got the cure'-type sales pitchmen but a person could go along way hearing what this man has to say - especially diabetics. I don't advocate his medicinal junk he sells but if I had 24.95 to blow, I would probably buy the book and sort out food facts and foo foo the sales pitch components. He really seems to know his stuff. If your menu is suffering with 'why' should I be eating this, his explanations take care of the 'whys' and certainly cover the 'whats' too.

I hope you all have a strong day today :)

Hey Randy,
How are you today??
Do you have a walk planned?

There's no way I can miss mine - the weather has been perfect, no wind, I'm still left wondering who took our winter - it's generally raining this time of year!

Good morning Debi :)

I'm sitting enjoying some Nyquil so who knows if I'll doze off before the peak 'warmth' of today hits. I'm really left with no place to walk anyway because everything is snow-covered

With the media bouncing this 'global warming' vs. 'El Nino' thing, I'm not sure which stole your winter, all I know it's keeping gas prices down :D which is a good thing.

I remember having a 45 rpm record "It never rains in Southern California" when I was kid. So that song was a lie ??

Enjoy your walk today Debi :) All I can do is que up Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" in re: being out there walking in the beautiful SoCal weather.

Gads - I didn't realize you were on the Nyquil. Did I ever tell you I got addicted to that stuff? I had a cold, had a bottle in the cupboard, rummaged around and took a shot before I went to sleep. Nice. It wasn't a full bottle, so I had to buy another one before the cold was out. Somewhere after the 2nd or 3rd bottle, I realized I couldn't remember WHEN my cold had ended.

I haven't had Nyquil since LOL!

Scary stuff ;)

And Hammond knew it:
Out of work, I'm out of my head
Out of self respect, I'm out of bread
I'm underloved, I'm underfed, I wanna go home
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

We just had a local police log story in the paper about a C-store clerk who drank all the Nyquil that was on the shelf during her shift. I guess she forgot about the cameras or just didn't care, either way, she was arrested.

I can see people getting hooked on this stuff, it's a decent mild buzz, add a shot of whiskey and you got something special :)

Bright...

LMAO! Something special is right!

Thanks bro, You're doing an awesome job yourself. I like how you help others on here too. You really help out a lot, keep up the great effort

Nyquil has the opposite effect for me. I actually get fairly hyper and my heart starts pounding. It landed me in the ER once. I avoid that now and take just regular tylenol cold or advil cold & sinus meds. They don't really work, but it makes me feel better taking something ;-) Good luck with your cold. I'm fighting one, too. This weather stinks! I'm California Dreamin' for sure!

Hope you get to feeling better soon! That snow did us in too. But the sun's out and it's suposed to get in the mid 40's so it's melting and leaving us with mud!! I don't know which is worse!!:)

-32 when I woke up this morning. Oh well. Got out of the house at least already, and I've made arrangements for tomorrow for the kids, so I can get on the treadmill for as long as I want. :D

How's it going Randy? Feel any better today?

man what kinda drug deals did i stumble into this morning.

you Nyquil addicts! :D

Lol at the clerk that nicked it.

Looks good on you DQ :)

I gave you my cold ?? all I did was type 'xo' :p

Thank you ladies for the forum love about my cold. I just let my body sleep when it said to and slept away a whole night. Kinda sucks eating supper (soup) at midnight and I hope I can doze back off here in a couple hours, if not I can always ride the bike I suppose :p
