The road to loving myself!!!

Hey Forum!


I ended up not eating even the whole salad yesterday my stomach was killing me! I was way under on cal (not that I actually counting them....) under eating not something I strive for but when you sick forcing yourself to eat ain't the best thing....I did keep up with my water and went to bed so early..I will have to wake up at 5 am on monday for the first time in forever so it is better that I make this a very quiet and relaxing weekend!!!

I will weight in tommorow cause I am actually able to eat today

I had planned to make a vegie pasta dish for me (sautteed spinach, yellow and red pepper, garlic, red ogion, mushroom, walnut and feta cheese with a bit of olive oil and greek served over whole wheat pasta...)

This tast so good and it will make a great lunch on monday I will need those energy giving carbs after waking up at 5 am


so any idea on a to go breakfast? other then a smoothy I will need food! :) the solid kind!
 
:) My breakfast is usually just an extra portion of whatever it is I was having for dinner so I´m afraid I´m not much help there...

Here is my go to breakfast. It is pretty high in calories (~500), but it is healthy and very filling as well as yummy.

Overnight Oats
1.Smash 1 banana up in a bowl
2.Add the following:
1/3 cup oats
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1 cup nutmilk (we use unsweetend)
1/2 teaspoon to vanila or to taste
cinnamon and ginger to taste
3. cover and refrigerate over night
4. Add and mix in 1 tablespoon of peanut butter (or other nutbutter). We use nut butters without added sugar.

This is mostly raw ingredient and tastes ery good that way, but you can heat it if you prefer a hot breakfast.

It only takes a few minutes to prep and it keeps me full until lunch time. It provides good complete protein, healthy fats and omega acids, and fiber. Chia swells and provides a thick rich texture. We think it's tasty, but the disclaimer would be that we eat a vegan diet and our tastes may be a bit different.
 
Hey Quercus......I hate feeling like this and I am working on taking care of me...when I eat well and exercise I tend to feel better.....but getting to that place of feeling well takes more time each time I stop.....why do I even stop you ask? I am a all or nothing type of person....aka my worst own enemy....but I am working on that as well....little things instead of big things...because the little things I can live with....and they do add up!can I use any type of oat for that recipe?....cause is does sound good....I was a vegan from age 14 to 21 so bring on the recepies...I like that it is not diet stuff made in a manifacture but real food!!!

First day back at work was fun...but so exausting...just getting up at 5 am was brutal, and then they pilled work on my desk and expected me to be able to dive right in....cmon havent worked in this department since Jan 3....lol but I loved it hopefully in time this will be permanent and full time!!!

I've used rolled, thick cut, and steel cut oats and they all work fine. Steel cut are a bit hard if they don't soak long enough though. I ate it this morning. Yum.
 
Congrats on gainful employment! You are taking many positive steps I hope you will pause a moment and feel good about the positive changes you are making. You have stopped sinking and started to rise.
 
Thankyou Quercus....already added all the ingredients for the recepie to my grocerie list of next week...we only shop once a week we forget something we live with out it...Brawny I tend to be very critical....but maybe if I paused and celebrated the small victories, thing would feel better thank!

So day two of going to work.. My coworkers are all in today should be fun like a reunion. with work mixed into it! I am so not a morning person so this waking up at 5 am is hard but it's only for the next two days!!!! I feel stressed today, I am wondering how I will pay my sitter for the first two weeks....it will be 1 month before I get payed my first week, because I am a temp they hold back two weeks, kind of like a severance pay. After I start getting paid it wil be worth it. I will try and catch up on other diary in here today after work, with the kids at home on my days off I really don't get much computer time.

It´s not your fault you´re temperary, is it? Then why do they "punish" you for it? It don´t get company thinking, sorry, but I hope these two weeks will pass quickly for you and everything will be a bit easier then. Enjoy your "reunion"!

I don't think they are punishing...it's just that when you get hired as a temps they have a different procedure....and it is helpful when you leave cause we have to wait 2 weeks after the last payed period before we can start receiving benefits....with those two weeks being held it helps make the transition better....sucks at first but I guess that is how long the paper work takes to process,,,,,

Major migrain yesterday so I went straight to bed when I got home,,,,and I could have used more sleep still .....takes a while to get used to waking up at 5 I guess....tonight I have to catch up on all the diaries!
 
Ah, that I understand. I´m no good at these things :) Do you get migraine a lot or is it just the stress of starting work again and getting up early?
 
I think my migrain is a mix of different things...waking up at five....the heat, I drink less water and the added stress of work, this time of the year at the school board is so busy,,,,the busy time starts in May and will continue till October.....we have to restock the supplies in the school. Then there are the new classroom for wich we have to buy furniture. There are just a 1000 things to do and I am jumping in mid project....ergo stress, today I was already feeling like I was catching up. I have countless phone messages that where left last week that I have to reply too ! I love it but it is an adjustment! Also like Brawny I am a night owl!!!

Wow 3 days since my last visit on the forum....how times flies!!! This weekend wasn't spectacular in terms of eating but it was relaxing...just what I needed!!!

I will weigh in again on Friday cause I totally forgot! I wonder how it is going to turn out with all the humidity my wedding bands are really tight I think it is because I am not drinking enough water....we will see!

Water... Water... Water! Or something like that anyway. Don´t let your body dry out please, a small deficit already makes it harder to think and concentrate. Hope this week will be easier for you :)
 
I have to drink more water when this kind of heat happens......at work I tend to forget that how absorb I get

can stay on long today it's canada day and time to go celebrate.....in moderation cause 5 am will be here before i know it!!!
 
Hey people!!

Hi LaMaria

I had a blast, but did mostly active things like attend a parade, and then we went to my parents and spent the afternoon in the pool....and my mom cooks healthy 90% of the time!!!

I just wished Canada day had happened on a Friday!

Shawarma is a chicken wrap....they roast the chicken (or lamb or beef) on a spit and when you order it they shave it on the spit right onto a pita bread and they top it with hummus and garlic sauce (roasted garlic and olive oil, or mayo) you choose the veggies (lettuce, tomatoe, cucumbers etc,,,,) I think it is arabic...really really good you whould try it! I think some people call it a Doner. I love it!!!! but didn't get to eat it they only had the beef ones left when I got down to the cafereriat so I had a panini instead :(

today is lunch time and I only have had coffee soo far...can't really handle food my dog ( really the husband and kids dog ) was sick all night long....I personally don't really like the dog.....he took for ever to train and I don't have time in my life for it kids and husband want him so we keep him.....but why do I get stuck cleaning up after him....I have no clue but it is gross.....of course he has to sleep in our bed so it'S my bed room he got sick in....I love dogs....but I don't really want one in my house. They are so much work and all he does is growl after me, he is 10 now so it's not like we can just give him up he is very attached to the familly......so I am stuck cleaning up after him
and not eating when he gets sick :(
