The Road to Change...

Ok, so I just got back from Curves and before leaving the building, guess what I did? I weighed myself! AHHH!! lol. Got myself discouraged again cuz I'm still at 289. This is so stupid of me, what do I expect, to see a 10lb weight loss in a day or something??

I'm trying to think back to when I was on Jenny Craig (I lost 65lbs when I was on it years ago). I remember my mentality then, I was really excited about weight loss, I ate well, and I exercised. I remember running up and down our stairs several times a day.

The thing was though, the really ODD thing was was that I was on a 1200 calorie diet at the weight of 245lbs. Did they put me on the wrong calorie range??? Should I be on that now???

My friend has lost 70lbs by not even counting her calories. Should I just leave counting calories alone??

The logical answer is to do what's best for me, but I feel like I don't even know what that is. I guess I should just try SparkPeople first for a week or two, and if I still don't see any results, then try something else. I'm not looking to see lots of weight loss, I'll I'm asking for is a 1 or 2 lbs a week, but I haven't been given that.

Part of myself is saying just go give up, but a stronger part of myself is saying not to give up, and I won't. I know this is a learning process, a growth process, as well as a weight loss thing.

Breakfast- Scrambled Eggs, Cinnamon Toast
Snack - Banana
Lunch - Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp, Bread
Dinner - Ziti Parmesano with extra Parmesan Cheese
Snack - Graham Crackers with Peanut Butter and Banana on top

(And OMG this was delicious. EVERYBODY MUST try it HAS to be the best peanut butter I have ever tasted in my entire life. Soooo yummy and healthy too!!! :D

Total: 1560 Calories when I was suppose to have 1980-2330 Cals. But this is okay, just incase I get hungry again. :p I met all my other fat, protein and carb needs.

Now, I'm gonna go watch the movie Click because I need a good laugh. :p

Click made me cry like a dang baby..lol.

Hang in there girl - sometimes you just have to stick it out even when it gets so frustrating that you want to rip your ears off..lol. ;)

i know i get confused & frustrated too when it comes to finding something that works...there are so many options out there, my advice would be to try them out again for a 2 or 3 week period to see if they work and make sure to keep track of the effort and changes =-)

don't worry, you've lost 15 lbs so far! that 's wonderful, and it's not the end!

Thanks guys!!! :D

Yeah, I heard that it was full of Adam's humor and seriousness. I didn't watch it though, I watched John Tucker Must Die instead, lol. It was pretty good until the end, the ending sucked butt.

You're right. Not the end, I just gotta keep this going.

Today I feel LOADS better though, the Christmas spirit is getting to me. We finally got our tree, and we didn't use our old fake one, we got a real one instead. It's the first time since I was a kid that we got a real one. The smell of it is oozing through our house, flowing up our nostrils and illuminating a sense of jolly goodness in our heads. :D We decorated and went shopping and BOY am I tired!!!! It was certainly a good workout, and even though I'm tired, I still feel energetic, if that makes sense. Still haven't finished decorating yet, will get to everything tomorrow.

Worked out at Curves. I made one mistake though, while we were out, I didn't bring any food and everyone else was getting fast food, so I got a whopper, not bad though, still in range of everything calorie, fat and etc wise.

Food...

Breakfast- Banana and Corn Flakes
Snack - Breyers LIght Vanilla and Almond
Lunch- Burger King Whopper
Dinner - Lean Cuisine Steak, Chedder and Mushroom Panini
Snack- Snackwells Fat Free Devil's Food Cookie Cakes

Total: 1760 Calories

Nite. :)

You'll figure it out chicky...counting cals worked for me but when I have a lull in loosing weight I really need to step up my exercise...then I can drop pretty well...however...I need to eat almost perfectly well and exercise abt 1.5 hours a day on top of work, UGH it sucks but it works...you'll get there and you've already lost almost 20 lbs right that is great ... it is a slow ad frustrating process...

Thanks 2LA. :D

I was feeling a bit sick today. I bought some Zicam that I seen advertised on the tv, and it actually helped. I feel better, I hope it sticks.

There's no fruit in the house, and I didn't feel like buying any, so food today was vegatable-less and fruitless.

Breakfast - Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich,
Snack - Fat Free Cookie Cakes
Lunch - Lean Pockets Meatballs and Mozzarella
Snack - Oreo Thin Crisp
Dinner - Baked Chicken, Light Vanilla Ice Cream
Snack - Turkey Sandwich

Total: 1416 Calories. Was a little low on the Fat section, and the rest was okay, except I'm still low on calories.

Worked out at Curves (slow pace) and did aerobics (fast pace).

:)

Thanks, yeah, I wish I could get my mom to do it too. But you can't make people eat right and exercise. Oh well...

Okay, so I'm tired, and I'm still going to do some aerobics before I go to sleep.

Breakfast - Cheerios and a Banana
Lunch - Deluxe Pizza
Dinner - Sesame Chicken, quaker rice snacks, banana
Snack - Cookie Cakes

Total: 1,838 calories. Not bad. I'm suppose to be in the range of 1980-2330 for calories.

Exercise: Curves (Walked there and back) & Aerobics.

I'm going to weigh myself in the morning when I go to Curves, for the Christmas Challenge. Wish me luck.

HEy Change,

congrats on being 2lbs down!

MMm your cals look good to me....and they look yummy!

Hope your having a great weekend!

Thanks guys!!

So, I didn't post my calories last night... I had a lot of crap. lol. But whatever, I was still in calorie range- 2,041 cals. And I did Curves for exercising, I didn't do any aerobics, but the first thing I did this morning was roll out of bed, put on some workout clothes and started doing aerobics to make up for it.

I'm looking at my ticker, and the "8" in 287 looks likes a zero to me. I wish!!!!!! lol

At the rate you're going that "8" will be a "0" in no time. 17+ lbs is by no means an easy task.

IMO, you made it to the point where you can do this long term now - a la the addicted stage. Most people don't make it this far.

You're doing great !! :)
