:) At least he kicked the metal ring and not you... Toes have the advantage that even when broken they´re usually not too much trouble as long as you´re wearing stiff-soled shoes.

I bought a bunch of dried peaches and figs online that are supposed to be here tomorrow (your fault). I'll let you know if they stink.

LaMa, I remember breaking my toe last year and still running on it. He said it didn't bother him too much yesterday, but he's constantly in flip flops so we'll see how long it is before he jams it again.

Q, I hope your peaches are ugly as heck but delicious as can be! I ate my last two foot peaches yesterday. Next up is trader Joe's dried persimmons. On constant rotation is solar dried bananas, those things are amazing.

My family used to go camping every weekend when I was a kid. They had a seasonal site with a nice trailer. I loved being brought up in that kind of environment. I'm not the typical girly girl. I like to get down and dirty. I like to catch frogs and turtles. So much fun! :)

Great job on the running. Sounds like you're enjoying the nice weather. It's going to be a beautiful week too.

Mandy, I'm with you, as I kid I wanted to play in the mud and catch turtles and frogs and our regional specialties: horny toads and crawdads. Crawdads burrow into holes near the water, and the distinguishing factor between my brothers and I was that I would NOT stick my hand down a hole to try and catch one. I'll pluck mine from the bottom of the creek, thank you very much.

I'm going for a three mile run with my coworkers after work today. Not sure if I've mentioned it before, but we're doing a 200+ mile relay race in September. It's called Reach the Beach, and I've done it before and it's amazing. My company is awesome and organizes a bunch of teams every other year. When we did it two years ago I organized weekly runs with the girls so I'm doing it again this time around. It's a nice way to hang out while doing something good for ourselves. Usually when we hang out we're eating nachos and doing shots of Fireball. This is better.

Thanks Q! Did 3.25 in 34:57. Ran the first two miles with a buddy then broke off to finish up on my own. There were five of us total, including one little speed demon.

Food yesterday was decent for the majority of the day. My one downfall was eating popcorn at 9pm just because it was there. I had mochi for dessert (200 cals worth) but then G popped up some popcorn that I could/should have declined but I didn't.

Oh, my Monday fail was eating a stuffed sopapilla for lunch. A sopapilla is fried dough, and I got mine a stuffed as an avocado BLT. It was from a food truck and I've been eyeing it for a while. I'm glad I got it though, because it was just ok, therefore I don't have to keep thinking I'm missing it on something wonderful. I know I'm not.

Isn't it good when a food fail turns into a win? I feel like that with most desserts at restaurants or cafes. Things look scrumptious, but 9 times out of 10 they are disappointing, so I mostly say no.

Ah... but what if it had been scrumptious and you'd needed to get it every day? I do feel that fried stuff gets less satisfying when I eat healthily for longer periods of time.
Good job running btw!

Ha ha LaMa. Even if something IS scrumptious I don't NEED it ever.Fried stuff makes me feel ill just thinking about it. I haven't eaten anything deep fried for years.
Go the running Oaks! It sounds like you have a really good work environment. In life that's half the battle xo Cate

LaMa, it was a risk I had to take :) I think I would have gotten physically sick pretty quickly had I gotten attached to sopapillas! There is a cookie truck nearby pretty regularly that I will not allow myself to visit, though, because that is NOT a risk I'm willing to take. It'll take a lot longer for me to get sick of fresh baked cookies.

I grew up in a different part of the country where it was not unusual to use a deep fryer pretty frequently. When I moved here and discovered that people cooked French fries in the OVEN I was horrified. But now I'm just thankful I managed to stay the size I did.

Not a cookie kind of person here, but french fries? :reddevil::drool5::svengo::willy_nilly: So glad I came to like them better ovenbaked. I could easily gain a kilo every week eating fries!

Nice warm and sunny day in New England! Too bad I prefer to run when the temps are low and the skies are cloudy. Fought hard for my 6.3 miles this morning. It was 75°F when I finished, and I was pooooped. Q, what have your temps been lately? I know my body will adjust a little, I just need to give it some time.

I've got a base for homemade ice cream chilling in the fridge. It's my first attempt at ice cream with eggs yolks, which meant I had six egg whites to use up if I didn't want to just toss 'em. G and I split an egg white omelette (with an extra whole egg) and didn't find it enjoyable whatsoever. Give me my yolks!

Thanks, Mystic!!! I keep it slow pretty much all the time, but especially for the long hot runs! Yesterday took me 1 hr and 13 minutes, which was a speed of 5.16 miles per hour. Boo, I never actually calculate the mph on my long runs, so now I'm sad, haha. Naw, it was too hot for me to push myself, and I took walk breaks when I needed them.

Today's food has been snacky. Grape Nuts and a banana, a smoothie (with oats and kale), freeze dried corn and dried persimmons. Dinner is my favorite - taco salad!

The ice cream came out tasty but plain. I need texture and all we added was caramel sauce. But I made too much for my ice cream maker so I need to churn the rest tonight. I'll add some toffee bits to add some crunch. Then it will be worth the calories!

Egg white omelets need to be filled with sausage and cheese and bacon to be edible, thus eliminating the purpose of an egg white omelet. At least in my opinion...

LJ, ours had steak and cheese and it still wasn't enough! There are far worse things in my diet that I should be getting rid of... Egg yolks will definitely be sticking around.

LaMa, I didn't get a bowl of my second batch last night but I did lick clean any utensils or machine parts that were used in the ice cream making! It's going to be close to 90? here today, I'll need something to help survive my lack of air conditioning.

Oaks it's been in the 70s and 80s here. We've had so much rain! I don't think it's been 90 yet which is odd.

I think over 5 mph for that long is respectable.
