The mind is the enemy

I like the idea of the adult coloring book - kinda like paint-by-numbers, without the numbers!

I didn't even count calories from the beer party. I just know it was a LOT.

Sounds like we both had rough weekends. I can totally relate to what you went through. :(

I probably sound like a broken record, but man I'm so happy to have spring weather back. I love being able to go for walks after work again. Good way to burn off steam. I hope your hip handles your increased running well. :)

Mandy we all sound like broken records, so that's totally ok!! Although now that it's sometimes nice out those dips back into winter weather are getting everyone riled up. Everyone was SO MAD that it snowed on Saturday! Personally, I thought it was pretty because all it did was coat the trees for a little bit.

Went for a run last night after work. 3.25 miles, everything felt good. Followed it up with....two slices of pizza. The last two pieces from Sunday, thank goodness it's gone. I also had a piece for lunch, with some Greek yogurt. That was leftover from Monday because I only ate one of the two pieces I brought to work. So if you're keeping count, that's 7 slices over three days. I'm not eating pizza for a while, I immediately felt heavy and yucky after last night's. Totally negated the happy feeling after the run.

Random memory regarding broken records: I used to have an alcoholic for a neighbor and he´d pace his living room for what felt like hours - very slowly - saying "time and time again" over and over again.

In other news: you´re making me want to eat pizza, despite the bad feels afterward.

We get catered lunch at the office every Friday and guess what we're having this week?? PIZZA! No one is forcing me to eat it, but it's free and delicious. When the G man makes pizza he likes to get creative with toppings. Last weekend was a buffalo chicken with jalapenos and pineapple, and a black bean with steak. So basically an open faced burrito. H E A V Y. I can eat some pizza in large quantities but not that one.

In running news, I didn't run today. I had a route all planned out but I've had a lot of trouble sleeping this week so I've been using that as an excuse to avoid morning workouts. I love my G man to death but his snoring lately is killing me. I think I've got some earplugs around, I've gotta put those on the night stand. I think the bedroom has been a little too warm for me, I've been falling asleep ok but keep waking up hot in the middle of the night and unable to fall back asleep because of the noise level. We need to do something about that soon.

"Snore-eze" Much as I hate spam & advertising, this stuff is brilliant! It was recommended to me by a woman in a health food shop & has made a lot of difference. G's snoring was driving me crazy at one stage!

Ooo pizza... I´m not actually a pizza person but I could just murder one right now! No fan of adventurous toppings though, I like simple things like onions, mushrooms and plenty of garlic and chilies on mine. And a little feta. On a nice crispy crust... I´m starting to drool here!

Hello everyone out there! I am happy to report it has been four days since I last ate pizza. And I have no pizza in my immediate future. Thank goodness. I've been a little ::ahem:: backed up for a while, and as I typed out that first sentence I realized it was probably due to a cheese overload. Things are back to normal now and I'd like to keep them that way.

In running news, I've gotten off my bum three times in the past four days. Today was 3.6 miles, yesterday was 1.5, and Sunday was 3.25. Give or take. Sunday was 3 minute 'sprints' with 3 minutes of slow recovery, times five. This was the first time I've done speedwork outside that was more than thirty seconds. It was uncomfortably hard in the best possible way.

The wind was being a b#tch that day, Q! My times for the sprints varied from 9:15 to 10:15. For the 10:15 one I was running directly into the wind and cursed out loud before giving up and making an abrupt 180 degree turn. For the 9:15 one I had forgotten I had one more to do but was thankfully running with the wind at my back.

My motivation comes and goes, Jen. We've had super rainy weather the past few days but this weekend is supposed to be nice, so I'll get my bum out there again!

It's Friday and I'm not in the mood to do any work. Unfortunately they don't pay me to surf the web so I gotta buckle down for at least a bit.

I had been craving pizza like crazy before my horse show trip. For a good 2-3 weeks. Finally once I got there I knew they always had a pizza hut concession stand and I got pizza nearly everyday!!
Great jobs on the runs!

Haha, Chef, you had me laughing with that! Mystic, the option to have just a slice or two of pizza is nice. We always get/make too much. The same is true for Chinese food. But not at all true for salads or grilled chicken. Nobody over-eats spinach or cucumbers!

The weather right now is amazing. We grilled for the first time today, and I went our for four miles of walk/run intervals. Did six fast intervals, quarter mile each. Ranged from 9:14 to 10:13.

Yesterday.... Yesterday was a waste. I know I say this a lot, but I really need to change my drinking habits. I can't handle myself when out with co-workers. I was about ninety seconds away from going home on Friday when I got an invite to go to our local watering hole, with the assurance that it "wasn't going to be a crazy night." Well, flash forward a bit and it's 2:15 am when I got into a cab to go home. Saturday was spent recovering and feeling mad at myself for the self-inflicted misery. I spent more time at the bars on Friday than I did at work. Not cool, Laura. Not cool.

Whoops... I´m glad alcohol isn´t my kind of poison, good luck figuring out control-strategies!
