The long and winding road hurts my fat feet

1. The calorie counters on machines rarely account for weight and physical condition. Odds are if youre overweight, you're actually burning a lot more calories than the machine says.

2. Calories counters arent that accurate period is my theory. My HRM take my weight, age, MHR and RHR to calculate the calories burnt, and supposedly is a little more accurate because it gets a better sense of the work you are actually doing, as opposed to how many time the wheel turns on a bike or elliptical or what not. Am I banking on it being accurate- no. But its a good gauge of workout difficulty I guess. Now, that said I spent the entire workout at 165 BPM which is pretty intense for me. If I had a good diet going right now, I would be losing a ton of weight, but I am doing a ton of carbs to get energy for my workouts...and I probably have overdone it. I mean, its good amounts to eat if one were to want to maintain their weight, but since thats not the case with me....yeah.

My wife and I talked about it last night, and when we grocery shop tonight we are going to eat like hippies. She is one already, but one that cheats a lot. I tried to get her to join the forum, but hes not biting yet. If someone wants to email her to coax her I'll PM you her email. lol. Shes gonna kill me.

I think its great that your doing all the extra stuff like getting the heart rate monitor and finding out more information about health and fitness. I'm trying to do that as well. Particularly when it comes to the nutritional aspect of it.

FGT,
All this heart rate information is definitely making me wonder what my MHR & RHR is...I should know where I need to be working out.

As for having your wife join us - tell her we don't bite (much) ;)
But if she isn't motivated to be online, then she wouldn't stay long, I've found a lot of people I know simply couldn't do online journaling like this. It's not always easy.

she might find that she likes it here... but -- we like you and we need to hold on to the cute boys we have in this forum- there are so few... we need the testesterone to balance out all the estrogen... :D We don't want you dead... though... Iwan is writing an erotic murder mystery so perhaps..............

1. My wife is on like a billion forums, so thats not it.

2. Cute???? Whatev. Have you ladies seen that move Mask....yeah. Ok, maybe not. Ok, I get "cute" a lot...but they mean it in a "awww look at that puppy" kind of way. "awww....look at that chunky emo boy...."

get my drift?

Ok, time to peruse the recipes.

Yeah- I worked out in my cardio zone, and at the end of an hour, it felt like I could do it all over again..yet I had that worn out mellow post workout feeling. It was good.

As far as her hosting a party...who knows. I told her I called her a prude and she acted offended. I was like....maybe not a prude, but you wouldnt go to a party or anything, and the she says...I wouldnt huh.

I'm calling her bluff. Truth is I am a prude. Especially now that I am working out so much. My muscles are too tired. I saw a great quote on a Triathlon board though thats says "if you're too tired for a quickie, then you're overtraining." LWMIV.

LWMIV.... :D ya know-- overtraining isn't good for you in the long run.. maybe you need some....ummm.. cardio.. yeah :D

Biked 10 miles last night, and I woke up with the most terriblely strained calf muscle ever. Thankfully tonight is a swimming night, and I can stretch it out, and have it ready for my biking tommorow.

My body is already looking a lot tighter. This program I am doing is hardcore, but I like to see fast results.

I think I am ready for some other forms of cardio...if you know what I mean.

That phrase "if you know what I mean" can make anything sound dirty. At any rate, Watch out wifey! LWMIV! In honesty I do need to have a date night with her.

4 down- 68 to go.

Yeah, that picture was taken well after midnight. It was opeing weekend for "Cars" and my little brother was graduating that night, so after the graduation ceremony, we watched a 10:15 showing of Cars. Luke (blockhead Jr.) stayed away the whole time...but as you can tell, he turned into a zombie right after the movie. And that my friends, is living proof of the kind of responsible parenting I do.

Hey Tri, just checking in. It was great seeing the important people in your life other than Brady Quinn. I think I may give Spark Pages a shot now too.

FGT, wow, you've been really racking up the miles! I'm jealous... winter is fast appraching and I haven't been able to bike as often as in the summer. Partly due to work, and partly due to the fact that it's getting so damned cold here in northern ontario.... the last time I went out, I could cut glass :D
