The Gamer's Diary

Had a nice small dinner after a really nice hard workout. On the second loops of my new belt and it's still pretty loose too. Probably a couple more weeks and I will be about ready to try on some 46 size jeans!! Diet has gone pretty well, still no cokes or fast food or candy.

So ya things are going very very well. I waited one month for the first weight in and then did another one 2 weeks later since I had to go for my knee, that makes is 6 weeks and this Sunday will be week 9 so the beginning of Sept, I will be going in for another weight in. If I can pull 10 pounds out of my ass I will be beyond happy. Anyways, hope all is well with the rest of you.

Things are looking really good as of late, going to cook some chicken for dinner tonight and enjoy my weekend off as much as possible. My jeans are damn near falling off of me so I think it's time to go try on a pair of 46's. I might wait though, haven't fully decided on it yet.

My diet has been good, still doing a lot of sandwiches with whole grains, turkey, chicken, steak...haven't juiced in a while but I will probably try and start back up this weekend. Working out has been good as well, started to get used to my workout so I think I will try jogging again this weekend and try and get back into that. I am FINALLY able to do 2 100% real true push ups. Up to this point I still have to have my knees on the ground to preform them but being able to do 2 of them at 355 pounds says a lot. I am doing about 300 jumping jacks during each workout 70-100 each round, I remember almost 9 weeks ago I would be winded at 10 and now I can do almost 100 and still not be out of breath!

If I feel this good at 355 pounds....what is life like at 250? I want to get there so badly, but I know it will take time. I still have my goal of 80 pounds by December 31st., I am still not 100% sure I can make that but if I don't I will come pretty damn close and will still have lost a good amount of weight.

Anyways, I better get back to work, hope yall all have a good weekend!

ANice to see that you have come far RadioActive, I just finished my week 5 workout and I know what you mean about being winded at the start, but it does get easier with time. Just have to see that it doesn't get to easy.

Hope you get to your goal ASAP, and keep up the good work.

Good job with the pushups, they're pretty damn hard when you're overweight, I started on about 2-3 proper pushups and now can do about 15 before completely colapsing, it's amazing how fast you can improve, especially when you're building muscle and losing fat at the same time.

I've been pretty slack with my weights recently, we're in the middle of a 4 day solid LAN party and the snacks and drinking is going to leave me a few lbs heavier I'm fairly certain, oh well it's good fun, we played SWAT 4 last night drunk as hell and did pretty damn well, i think we got a 96% on one map which was hilarious.

Drunk LAN parties are AWESOME! Playing any game drunk with friends is always a good thing :p

I am just waiting to the new map and season to come out for league of legends, going to start playing in the competitive as soon as I can. I am not one of the best but I am in the top 5% I would imagine.

Another update for yall, I offically went down to a size 3x in my shirts and a size 46!!!!!! in my pants. The hard work is slowly paying off.....can't wait to see what December holds for me!

Allo we just cleared up the LAN, total damage weight is from 216 up from 213.2 so actually no too bad, about what I expected, managed to stay on whisky and pepsi max so total calories for 4 nights of solid drinking wasn't too bad.

We played LoL the last day for about 3-4 matches VS AI, managed to sneak in 18 champion kills and 3 assists so did fairly well, rest of the LAN was good as always, Sven Coop is hilarious, I still can't believe we owned SWAT 4 completely and utterly drunk.

Good work dropping down a few sizes in the clothes, despite not losing that much weight recently I've still been seeing a drop in clothes size, some old Jeans which I could no longer fit in to when I was 250lbs not only fit but they're getting loose as well, sometimes I think weight isn't even a good indicator of fat, not if you're working out and putting muscle on at the same time.

Ya I don't think it is either but at my weight it's a quick indicator of if I am losing or not. Later on I will be doing measurements to track progress. I go in on the 9th, if I can get 10 pounds I will be jumping and hugging anyone I can find lol.

I like LoL's new AI system they put in...it's a lot more aggressive and A LOT more smart as well. I think I got almost 1300 games played lol. I love playing it.

250 pounds sounds really nice haha. That's my main goal, since I am so big to begin with I don't think I'll need to get down minus 200 like a lot of the guys I see. I think at 230 will start look pretty damn amazing. Once I hit 350, it's 100 pounds till my goal weight. Gosh that sucks LOL.

I think by the time you get to 250 you'll realise that it's worth the stretch to get down in to your healthy range, I originally planned to hit the upper limit of my healthy weight range, I was never really interested in being skinny again (I used to be thin as a rake), but the closer I get to that target (over half way now) the more I think I'll just keep going, if you've come this far then why stop?

I think above everything my advice would be to not set hard limits initially, set goals like stepping stones by all means but setting a target weight is probably a bad idea you need to be flexible as you lose weight and adapt to how you feel, all that matters is that you're losing it initially and getting healthy.

Falling back in to the diet after the LAN has been easier than I thought it would, not craving fast food or anything like that, all the left over snacks have been chucked, back on the weights.

Wow that's a lot of LoL, I think i've played about 25 games total, I like it but not enough of a fan to go crazy, I'm bottling it all up for BF3 :)

I see what you mean, I can't say how I will feel in 9-10 months because this is the first time in my life I have given it 100%. I would love to have a hard body but that requires a SERIOUS diet and I just know I am not up for that haha. Perhaps later on I will be but since I don't eat veggies I doubt I will be able to get there haha.

That main goal is 250 but I have a small goal of 320 and then finally 300. Will I get 300 by December 31? I am not 100% sure. I need to get rid of 11 pounds a month to make that goal and I think that is asking quite alot. If I can get 6-8 pounds a month I will be MORE than happy. But 10-12 would be ideal. Last time I weight in I was down 26 pounds to a total of 355. Next weight in should put me at 345 and if all goes well 10 each month till December and that'll put me at 305. Just thinking about it makes me really happy. Granted at 300 I will still be a huge ass mother fucker.....it certinaly isn't 381 :p Plus I want to say, ya I lost 81 pounds in 6 months.

As far as LoL goes, ya I am an uber gamer nerd haha. It's LoL till StarWars MMO then Mass Effect 3 then D 3

Ok, I have been slacking hard! No update for 6 days! Not much to report thus far really. Weigh-in is on Friday and I a hoping for 10 pounds but 4 will put me at 30 pounds lost in almost 11 weeeks. Is that good? I guess thats good, who knows. HOPEFULLY its more than 4 haha, only got 4 months left to hit my 81 pound goal. On a good note, my washed and dried my 46 jeans and they fit perfectly today. I am used to really tight jeans because I was so big, now everything feels comfortable. I must be doing something right lol.

Anyways, hope all is well with everyone and I will update when I find out the results of the weigh-in.

Yeah 300 is still pretty large but once you've lost that much weight the diet will be par for the course, it's so easy to maintain once you've switched gears and you've got a new routine. I know about the jeans thing, I washed mine a few times once I got too big for them I was hoping they'd shrink to fit a bit better but they don't, now they basically can't stay up at all, I have to rely on a very tight belt haha!

I dropped the ball a bit last week, the week after the LAN party was a large gain despite dieting as normal, I can't really account for it other than the effects of too many calories is somewhat delayed over a number of days. This week I'm back down again but not back to where I was which is a bit depressing, thankfully the LAN party binges are only every 3-4 months.

How do you find time for that much LoL by the way? Each game of mine is 30 minutes minimum! I'm not that interested in star wars which is odd considering I'm a nerd, the MMO doesn't look like much special, I'm not a massive ME fan either to be honest, however D3 looks like it will be quite cool, I'm not a fan of some of the stuff they're doing though, like no LAN, and items for sale for real cash.

Good luck with your next weigh in, keep at it!

I have always been blessed in the fact that I never look as much as I really weight. I have big muscles and broad shoulders and am tall. I see other people who are the same weight and it's like night and day lol. I will look pretty amazing at 300 and once I hit 230.....IF I hit 230, my god, I know I am good looking already but 230? WOOOO! Ok enough mindless self indulgence lol.

I dropped a tiny ball today and ate a bag of flamin hot lays (small bag) for lunch, along side a turkey sammich and some chicken breast. 300 cals and 18g of mono/poly fat, 29g carbs....I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!! The difference in those and baked is just plain shocking. And I find that baked to taste a little bit better!

I have been playing LoL since beta release and day one of open servers. Only having 1300 games is pretty small compared to other vets like myself, who have 2000 games. I am stoked about the auction house for D3....it will be amazing! I will wait a month to play the Star Wars MMO after its release and see the reviews it gets. And don't get me started on ME series, I have so much invested in those characters emotionally speaking, i have yet to find a better story from a game. Right now though, it's LoL and Hellgate Global.

Hey :)

I'm a gamer losing weight too :) I went from 370 to 228 so far, still trying to get off my last 40 or so pounds :). I play LoL too, lol, and have been since beta. I wonder if we've run into each other before, haha. What's your in game name.. :) I game way less now than I used to, mostly because I spend so much time outside and doing stuff now lol

I actually used to be the same way, by the way, with the weight. Everyone always said I looked smaller than I weigh (actually they still say that), and I used to believe it. Looking back now at the pictures I think it's very obvious I was a little off, lol. Good luck on hitting your goal though bro. You're doing awesome. It's actually eerily similar to my own weight loss ventures, with the pant sizes lol. It started to cascade really quickly after that for me, and I hope it does for you too! I was in a 48 one week and then the next I was in like a 44. Now I'm in a 36, and it feels like just yesterday my 50s were too small.

PS I actually have a beta account for Swtor if you're interested in playing it, I can share the info with you as I'm not a fan of it, lol :)

Fat gamers unite :)

Glad to hear I'm not alone. Kiramon, would you say that you go out more often because you're thinner, or just less interested in games?

I'm not really sure if I play games a lot simply because I'm lazy and being fat is a product of that, or if it's the other way around and that games are easier for fat blokes to enjoy rather than being active. I find myself playing games a lot less than I used to, but I don't feel compelled to really go and be active, maybe my decision making is now driven by being out of shape, I'm not sure.

A little of both; I feel like I need to go out -- and nowadays I actually want to be out -- rather than be at home.

Hey Kiramon! It's nice to see another fellow gamer on the forums! I started about 11 pounds heavier than you did which isn't much. How long have you been losing weight for? How do you do it, etc. My routine has worked really well so far so I'ma stick to it until it doesn't lol. My name is LoL is CriticalRA, I think I got like 1300+ games played or something. I play games now because I enjoy them vs. not having anything to do like I did in the past. I don't compromise my time when friend want to play and I need to workout. And I am impressed with your amazing weight loss! 370-228 is something else! I personally have a very big build, lots of muscle, broad shoulders, etc. How do you like being at 228? My main goal is 225-230, I was thinking that would be fine given I am 6'3. Only way to know is to get there haha.

And hello Froseth!

UPDATE! I went in to see the doctor today for my 1 month check up. My last weight in a month ago was 355 and I am now at 342!!! 13 pounds in a month is AWESOME!!!OmJF)$JF)W$JW. That puts me at 39 pounds lost, so I will just call it 40. 41 more pounds to go till I hit my 81 pound goal by December 31. If this rate keeps up, I don't see any reason for not hitting that goal and maybe, beyond!

Hey man.

Grats on the weight loss keep going you can do it.

Although there are still some ERGH days, but it's definitely a much better feeling. Being able to go into stores and buy Larges/XLs and 36 pants and stuff... wooo. Shopping isn't depressing anymore, lol.

I know you're pretty set on being okay at 225-230, and while I think most people with a better weight distribution than me (im booby :() would look pretty decent at this weight, it's definitely bigger than I want to be -- and I think when you get there it might be bigger than you want to be, too. I mean, it's not like you can't do it. Once you lose the weight down to this weight, you know you can lose weight. So why stop? :)

You never told me if you wanted the swtor beta info :p

This is exactly my point of view, if you're capable of losing weight and you're set in a routine of losing it's best to try and get down into your "healthy" range at least, I think for me at 6'1" about 190lbs is the top of my "healthy" range, which is what my initial goal is, but I don't have any plans to stop there per se, I'll keep going until I feel it's the right time to stop, that's going to be based on what proportions I lose weight in. Ideally I want to get rid of my tummy and it might be the last place to flatten out so I might need to be bang in the middle of my healthy weight range or even lower to see it completely gone.

It might be that with loose skin larger proportions overall have a better look, it's entirely possible I'll diet down to a certain size and then cut the diet short depending on how awful I start to look, basically right now nothing is set in stone, and the time it's going to take to reach my rough goals is going to be a long while so chances are your perspective will change in that time.

Congrats on the loss RadioActive, I'm back on the downwards trend after the LAN party so nearly paid off that "debt" lol.

I played more LoL recently, I have about 30 bot games played now and tried my hand at PvP and won the first 3 games I played, woohoo. I'm sticking to Ashe at the moment I can use her fairly well now, just kiteing enemies as much as possible and luring impatient champions into traps. I actually went 11 kills and 0 deaths in my 3rd PvP game, I guess I'm ranked against newbs at the moment as soon as it pits me against someone good I'll get my arse kicked :)

Sorry I haven't update in a while!! Been kind of a crazy few days. Nothing new is going on really, just plugging away like usual. The third notch of my belt is getting pretty loose and ya things are good. Week 12 is tomorrow and I am pretty excited I made it this long with this much success. At this point if my body acts like last month, I should be at 42-43 pounds lost. CANNOT WAIT TO HIT 60!!

Can't get my ticker to show up in my sig :(

I have noticed that I am a carb whore. Whole grain rice, whole grain bread, I love it. Cheese and milk as well, yes I am sure esp. cheese the cons out weight the pros but theres just some things I can't give up LOL. I don't suspect I will be the type of person who will get down into the the very low 200s or even the high 100's. I try and always think about how it's just a in vs. out type of deal and it usually makes me feel a little bit better. But something feels off since I last weighed in. Can't put my finger on it. Still no fast food, cokes, junk food though. I COULD be working out a little more but I'm not lol. Been a little relax, perhaps to much. The question is, now that I am below 350....should I get a scale of my own? Or continue to go see the doctor every month. Part of my wants a scale but then I think I'll use it to much and becomes obsessed with it. But on the other hand, I wouldn't have to take off work JUST to weigh in. Also...what if my new scale shows a different number? I go off of the doctors digital scale, then I will have 2 different numbers. I probably could eat chicken for the rest of my life...if it wasn't so damned expensive.

My diet mainly consists of dry turkey sandwiches and a few baked chips, chicken, lean hamburger meat w/whole grain pasta and tomatoes or whole grain rice w/ beef or chicken in a brown gravy. I know gravy sounds bad but it's really not as bad as you think, atleast that's what the package says. Sooo really all I eat is about 4 different meals? I am sure some people would look at me weird for being so bland but I like these meals and I honestly could eat them for the rest of my life. The question is...once it gets down to the finish line...can I still lose and eat these types of foods? If not, I haven't let myself realize it yet. The last thing I want to is to know my future is doomed before it's even began.

Goal for this month...

1. Work out more

That's about it, I have done VERY well with having no junk or fast food and cokes. So since I have that on lock I guess the only thing I need to do more of is workout. So here is to another 13 pounds gone.

I need yalls opinions on if I should get a new scale or not. What do you think? Also...if anyone knows why my sig won't show up, I would love a fix for it.

Frosteh - Rock those bot games brother :p Annie bot is a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!!!! ( no rly, she is )

Kiramon - I will pass on the beta info, I will wait a while before I try it...if I even do at this point.
