The big oak (Quercus) needs to drop some dead limbs!

Than you Justina! Rough day yesterday. I got home and fell asleep on the couch. 3150 calories yesterday. I'm going for a juice fast today at least through the workday. I've been eating the whole day's calories before dinner. We haven't gotten a juicer yet, but the gas station we are going to has naked juice which is better than regular bottled juice I think.

I drank my bottled juices today and had a light dinner. We bought a juicer so we experimented after dinnner. I had tomato/apple juice and orange juice. Sooooo yummy and it made me feel so much better! Thank you for your encouragement Justina! I went with the higher priced juicer that was the one in the movie. Not because it was in the movie, but because we have that brand of toaster at work and it is the nicest toaster I've ever used and it has held up to more than 30 people's regular use.

I had 1,750 calories today. That's 600 under which makes up for most of yesterday. I was pretty exhausted by the field work today, but I feel much better after the fresh juice. I'm still tired, but not exhausted at the moment.

I saw this speckled king snake today in an old refrigerator someone dumped out in the woods. It isn't in very good focus. King snakes eat other snakes and give live birth. I've only seen 3 speckled king snakes while working. The second was yesterday and the third today. Weird and they were several miles apart and looked different as well. I've seen lots of snakes lately.

This is a Texas rat snake climbing a tree that I saw yesterday. It was about 6 feet long.

Neither of these snakes are venomous.

Great job, Q! I haven't done a full day of juicing yet, but I've replaced a meal here and there. As long as I'm losing I'll keep on with my standard diet, but I may pull out the juice card if I need a bump. The snake shots are cool.

Nice snakes, next time I encounter a Taipan or King brown I should takes some pics. Sounds like your going to enjoy your new juicer :)

Awesome news on the juicer!! I wanna get one of those juicers too! :) I hope it works out for you and your wife!
BTW there are tons of recipes online for free on joe's website.

Tru: When I worked in Biopharmaceuticals we used a venom enzyme from the inland taipan in an experimental process. The snake farm was in Australia so I never dealt with the snakes directly, but I watched them milk venom on a video.

Thanks Justina I love it! I've been able to eat one meal a day and otherwise drink a smoothie and juice. I'm at 320.4 today. I imagine I'll be in the 3teens in the morning.

Under 2000 calories yesterday.

I had a short day in the field yesterday and I rode my bike for an hour after my evening vegetable juice. Turnip green juice tastes like butt by the way. I was hungry before bed after the hour on a bike and a shower so I had a couple sips of juice and slept better than I have in weeks.

I wasn't 100% sold on juicing and I still wish it was easier to clean, but I am super impressed by how great I feel after a fresh juice. I was tired and cranky last night and I did not intend to exercise and I thought I would need to eat dinner after the juice. Once I drank my juice I had an intense hour on the bike, showered, and then stayed active on my feet until I realized it was 11:30.

I took out all of my jeans and tried them on last night. I'm happy to report that I now fit into six pairs of jeans/pants that did not fit the last time I tried them on (3 or 4 weeks ago). 42s are huge, 40s are a bit big or fit, and 38s fit or are a bit snug. Everything I own that I can't wear are smaller 38s and size 36s. The 42s are going to charity.

Thanks Sunflower!

I'm still soda free, but I honestly haven't even thought about it in a few days. I haven't drank alcohol in 109 days (I used an online days between calculator) and I rarely think about it which is odd as I drank some amount almost daily. It's probably been 10 months since the last timed I had any tobacco.

Without the soda I'm more straightedge than a straightedger.

I never thought I'd be like this as I had soda in a baby bottle, my father smoked in the house growing up, I smoked/dipped/chewed regularly at 14, and started drinking around then too. I don't miss any of it.

Good work on dropping some more pounds.

You're also more straight edge now than on a particularly irritable day. Be proud :)

Thanks V! I've been rewarded for my good behavior with terrible back spasms. I carried a very heavy and awkward printer yesterday and apparently it messed up my back. I managed to get a half hour of walking in before it struck.

I am glad you feel better when juicing yay!! I know : washing the juicer is meh! We do job-sharing for that reason. One person prepares the veggies/fruit for juicing, & does the juicing, the other washes up :)

I hope your back is back to normal soon! Have a nice weekend!

Thanks Justina! My back feels way better this morning.

I weighed in at 318.4 so I'm finally in the 3teens.

I probably had too few calories yesterday, but I wasn't thinking about food or juice once my back hurt. I had about 1800 calories for Friday. I realize that when I have a smoothie and a juice for 2 meal replacements that I really don't have to count calories as my meal choices have been moderate and healthy.

Congrats on the loss! I started about a week ago and I've went from 424 to 412 with only 3 days in the gym. Had trouble with temptation today and had a pepsi and Chinese food but you have gave me tons more motivation. Will continue to follow your progress. Thanks!

Sunflower and Justina: The back is much better. I would call it touchy. It doesn't hurt, but I have to be careful and I get a little twinge of spasm here and there.

I'm taking it easy today as I have to be in the field first thing tomorrow morning. My allergies are pretty bad right now. I walked around outside for the outdoor points, but it was less than a half hour so no ex points. I'll probably do the same today.

Cory: I listened to the Minor Threat EP yesterday. I've got the straightedge.

Ed: Welcome and congrats on your weight loss. You should start a diary if you haven't already.
