Thanks Sunflower! The postive outlook is that I keep people in compliance of the environmental regulations. The reality is that current US regulations are weak and have little to no enforcement, so I mostly keep corporations in legal compliance while they degrade and destroy the local ecosystems. I would much rather work for real environmental protection, but that isn't a viable option.
We do manage a few mitigation banks where we actively improve an ecosystem in order to offset impacts to wetlands, but that is the minority of my job.
My favorite scenario is when I survey a very large project and then once the field work is complete they cancel it. No stupid report writing and all the cool stuff I've seen doesn't get bulldozed. Obviously a client that does that often won't be around long so that scenario is rare.
I went over calories yesterday, but I had a long and difficult day of field work and was very hungry. I did manage juice for breakfast and lunch, but I ate dinner and then snacked. I kept it fairly healthy, I just ate too much. I was too tired for the bike last night but I got tons of exercise already. I don't think last night will derail my progress.
I'm wearing size 38 pants, size 42 belt, a 2xl polo and 2xl sweater today and everything fits the loosest it has so far.
I'll be back on the bike tonight after my juice dinner as I'm going to have lunch with my wife for a change.
