Big hugs!

Happy Birthday Tig.
:party::party:
I haven't checked in for a couple of days so sorry I'm late. The weekend without the kids sounds like a great gift :)

Thanks Flumes and Eycky!

I was back down to 138.2 this morning with the arrival of that TOM for me. Really crampy today, so hoping my run tonight will make me feel better.

The weather is really lousy too. We've gotten a couple inches of snow already during the night, and 2 to 3 more expected thru the day. The worst part is the 30 to 50 mile per hour wind causing white out blizzard conditions. It's just one of those days when you wish you could just stay home in bed all day under the warm covers instead of braving the cold to go to work. :ack2:

Hi Tig, been busy a couple of days so haven't had a chance to stop by. Sayin 'ello now though...

'Ello...

Oh yeah, where the F--- do you live that its already blasting you with snow... I'm not liking the sound of that...

Hello yourself! :seeya: Good to see you on again.

I live in ND. We ended up with just a few inches of snow in our area, but others further north got over 9 inches in the last couple of days. Winter has officially begun here I guess.

Today was another new number day! 136.6 baby! WOO HOO!!!! Less than a pound to go till the 50 pound mark - I'm so freakin' over the moon about that!!!! :coolgleamA:

Today may have set me back a teeny bit though. Our office has a Halloween decorating/dress up contest every year. My project team has won the decorating contest for the last 5 years running. So today we all took a long lunch, ordered in pizza (I ate 2 slices) and decorated our area as a haunted forest. We are software developers, so of course our whole office is one big cubicle farm. We covered the walls up and down the hallway between the cubicles with this wallpaper stuff that has skulls, spider webs, spiders and such all over them. Then we brought in these big 10 foot tall tree branches and attached them to the walls. Next we took that spider web stuff and stretched it between the trees so that it's this long, arched hallway over your head as you walk down the hall. Of course there are bats and spiders and such hanging from the trees and webs. At the entrance to our area we put several of the biggest trees and a couple of big tree stumps with axe's in them and fake severed heads on them. There are ghosts in various spots as well. And a big sign that says Welcome to the Haunted Forest - where only the trees will hear you scream. It looks AWESOME!!!

One of the other teams came over to look at our handiwork and said that they WERE going to decorate, but now they realize they might as well not bother because we'll win anyway.

Then on the way home tonight the kids wanted me to pick up McDonalds. I see they have their holiday pumpkin pies out now - 2 for $1. So guess what I had for supper? I'll give you a hint - it only cost me $1. It was YUMMY though!

Calories probably weren't all that bad today - but sodium was thru the roof. I think the sodium does me in more than anything else lately.

Tomorrow I will be better with my healthy food choices. I PROMISE!

Boy can I tell I overdid the salt yesterday. Woke up this morning with insanely dry mouth, puffiness everywhere, and up 4 lbs from yesterday morning! :willy_nilly: Can you say "WATER RETENTION"?

Today I'm making healthy food choices - complete turn around from yesterday.

Breakfast yesterday - Chocolate Clif Builder bar
Breakfast today - Total cereal with blueberries and skim milk

Morning snack yesterday - 4 pieces Hersey's Bliss dark chocolate
Morning snack today - 1 cup grapes

Lunch yesterday - 2 large slices of Pizza Hut Pizza - 1 was pepperoni, 1 supreme, and 1 can V8 juice (low sodium at least)
Lunch today (planned) - Tuna on whole wheat with pickles and light micacle whip, 1/2 cup carrots, 1 1/2 cups skim milk

Afternoon snack yesterday - bag of pretzels (MORE salt!)
Afternoon snack today (planned) - 1 apple

Supper yesterday - 2 McDonalds Pumkin Pies
Supper today (planned) - grilled chicken, brown rice, steamed veggies

Evening snack yesterday - 1 small glass of sangria, 2 BIG handfulls of corn puffs (still more salt!)
Evening snack today (planned) - none, ok maybe 1 small glass of wine - I LOVE my wine!

I need to drink TONS of water as well to flush out all that sodium.

I've been reading about how you should change your exercise routine to use different sets of muscles. I do that when I lift weights (probably because I get so bored with it and don't like it very much) but I run 3 days a week almost without fail lately. Monday is my slow day - 3 miles at a nice easy pace (usually cuz I'm still sore from Saturdays). Wednesday is my fast day - also 3 miles, but push it as hard as I can. Saturdays lately I've been going over 6 miles at a fairly easy pace, but I figure the longer distance will build endurance, right? Is that changing it enough or doesn't it matter if I'm always running? I've read that you should mix in eliptical training, aerobics, or other cardio. But I'm really enjoying the running and it's been easy for me to stick with it - so that's better than nothing, right? At least I'm getting some exercise I figure. I've also been hearing a lot lately about how running isn't the best exercise as you get older because it's harder on your body, especially your knees. Maybe I need to look around for a used eliptical trainer or something like that? My sister loves hers and says she'd rather do that because she says she "can't run". What ever that means.

I noticed something this morning as I was getting ready for work. My hair is finally starting to grow back!!!! YAY!!!! It's not quite an inch long and sticks straight up, giving me sort of a fuzzy bird look. I have to load up on hair care products to make them behave until they are long enough to lay in with the rest of my hair. It'll be years before my hair gets back to how it was before I lost weight. It was down to my waist until I cut it as a 'reward' for getting half way to my weight loss goal. Now it goes to the middle of my back - with the exception of my new fuzzy growth of course! :troll:

Well, enough rambling for today.....

Post a photo of your office, it sounds great. Halloween is starting to take off a bit here in Spain but nowhere near to the level of your part of the world. It always seem that if I buy sweets for the kids then none come knocking but if I don't buy them they come and I have to pretend not to be in. I really don't want to fill the house full of goodies incase nobody comes and then they will be around tempting myself and mostly my daughter who has got back to healthy eating these last couple of weeks.

Sounds like you certainly are mixing it up exercise-wise. I try to alternate between longer slow runs and fast short ones to mix up my speed.

I'm perplexed trying to imagine your hair style that is short and fuzzy and long down to your back!

The short hairs stand straight up thru the long hairs, especially along my part line when it's freshly washed and towel dried, but I don't have any hair junk in it yet.

*******

Well, I had a nice 6 mile run this afternoon. I probably should have gone further considering how much of my kids' Halloween candy from school I've snitched already. Naughty me.

I was attempting to sleep in this morning, but the twins came in and climbed into my bed. They were crawling over me and laying on me when one of them asked what those hard pokey things were. Here she was talking about my ribs and hip bones! When I lay flat on my back all the loose skin slides back and you can actually see my ribs and hips. I can't remember the last time I could see them! I think it's kinda cool! Too bad I can't stay laying flat on my back all the time to make my tummy look that good.

LOL, I hear you! I wish I could lay down with my arms stretched up over my head all the time. Then my tummy looks just like I want it to.

Glad to see that you are doing so well! So close to your goal. Grats!

Tig, I'm also perplexed about he hair... why was it a concern about it growing? I haven't "known" you that long so I must have missed something..?

sodium weight is a pain. It bugs me too sometimes. Overall, I don't fluctuate like I used to, because of my current situation, but sodium will definitely give me a short term bump. That being said, congrats on the new low, you'll be right back there in a day or so, and you must look hot as hell :drool5:

When I first started losing weight I lost pretty fast (2 to 3 lbs a week) and I think my body went into some sort of starvation mode because my hair first stopped growing, then started falling out. Big handfulls of it every morning. I've lost 1/3 to 1/2 of my hair already. It's finally going the other direction (thanks goodness!) but the damage is done and it's not something that can be fixed quickly.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!

Halloween is my all time favorite holiday because it's also my wedding anniversary. Hubby and I have been married for 19 years today. WOO HOO!!! The first 10 years or so we were kid free, and I'm glad we waited so long to have a family because we really got to enjoy each other while we were young enough to do so. By the time the kid years are thru (another 15 to 20) we may be too old and tired to enjoy being child free. Well, I won't be that old I guess, but hubby is 12 years older than me. And he always says I'm really hard on him :reddevil: so he is going to age even faster.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm going to try to stay away from the kids' candy. Wish me luck!

That makes two of us Tigpuppy, I'm vowing not to eat any candy either, its hard because at work they made me do the shopping, so what did I do? I got good stuff, but stuff I wasn't in love with, result: less temptation lol...

Congrats on your anniversary! Its cool to see people who stick together and reach that kind of milestone!

Well, today turned out to be a dud in all sorts of ways. I didn't make my goal of 135 - but I'm not far off. It's still that TOM for me, so I'm hoping that some time in the next week I'll be there.

We also have a couple of sick kids. We had thought about going out for supper, while hubby's mom took the kids around for trick or treating. But it's about 30 degrees tonight, with a nasty wind, so we decided we'd stay home with the kids, and bribe them with candy into not going trick or treating. Instead we had popcorn and a movie night. Hubby and I will go out next weekend to celebrate our anniversary when my mom has the kids.

I went 'fancy' shopping this last week and picked up one of those gifts that are for me, but that hubby will like. I've always had a hard time finding lingere to fit me because if I find something that fits on the bottom or around the waist, then the top is usually way too small and my boobs squish out/fall out all over the place. If I find something that I can actually fit my boobs into, then the bottom and/or waist doesn't fit at all. Well I lucked out and found a red lace bustier (is that how it's spelled???) with black trim and garters. Then you could buy the bottoms seperate in which ever style you liked (bikini, boys cut, thong, etc) so I picked the thong version. I haven't worn a thong since I had my first kid. I used to wear them all the time back in high school and college, but as some of you ladies may know, after you have kids sometimes you end up with hemeriod problems. Thongs aren't exactly comfortable if you have issues with them. Well, I haven't had issues in a LONG time, but by then I was too fat to wear them (I thought anyway) so I quit wearing them. I think my butt is still a bit too dimpled with cellulite to wear them, but I'm going to bite the bullet and give them a try anyway. Hubby will get a kick of them at least.

It's going to be a busy, long week at work. But then I have a whole entire kid free weekend to look forward to! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Sorry that your day didn't go as planned but at least you've got a great weekend to look forward to. I'm sure that the last thing that your husband will notice is cellulite once you have your sexy undies on!!!!!!
