The amazing shrinking woman (I hope!)

Tig, I know what you mean about seeing people and loving when they comment. I've avidly avoided posting anything on facebook about losing, because I want people to just see me. I'm actually going to see a few high school friends this weekend and I'm really excited for that!

Good job on the exercising and it's great that your wedding ring fits again. Lol, I'm having the opposite problem. I almost never wear mine now because it falls off! I'll get it resized when I get down to my goal weight. Don't worry, you'll get used to wearing it in no time.

And don't worry about "only" losing 4 pounds. You are getting so skinny now that it's bound to slow down. Bet you look great! Keep it up!

Thanks for the encouraging words Mizzie! I really appreciate it!

I think I'm even more sore today than I was yesterday from lifting weights. But today is my rest day, so I'm hoping to be back to normal by tomorrow.

I went over a bit on calories today because I had cake at the baby shower and tonight hubby begged me to make some caramel filled chocolate chip cookies and I had one. Back on the old chuck wagon again tomorrow.

And tomorrow is a running day! YAY!

Great going. You are now at my dream weight which I hope to be at sometime in the next few months.
I think that I need to do what you do and plan the exercise routine instead of just deciding day by day. I need more discipline. You are very inspiring :D

Having the workout schedule has really helped me stay on track I think. At first if I missed a day, I would double up the next day, or else skip my rest day and work out to make up for the missed day. I felt like I was always trying to play catch up, then would feel like not even working out at all - so missed even more days. Now if I miss a day, I just say the heck with it and get right back into the routine the next day. I find overall I end up working out more of the days in a week doing that then if I would try to make up missed days.

Life happens so I figure it's ok to give myself a break sometimes.

Awesome. What a lucky guy!!! :hurray:

:D

Hubby's friends are always telling him the same thing and ask if I have any sisters he can introduce them to. He just laughs at them and tells them my sisters are NOTHING like me. I'm an original, and they'll never find someone like me for themselves.

At least I know he appreciates what he's got!

Aiming to gain weight is just a matter of self discipline. If you're really serious about it then you should have self discipline & self motivation - proper exercise, proper diet. No one will ever help you except by yourself. Not even any exercise gadgets or weight control pills will ever help you aim your goal in losing weight if you dont have self discipline.

Now if I miss a day, I just say the heck with it and get right back into the routine the next day.
That sounds like a good plan. Treat it the same way as eating. If I have a bad day eating I just put it behind me and start again.

I had my daughter take my updated progress pictures last night. I'm not seeing a lot of difference from month to month, but lately I'm only losing 5 lbs a month. But compared to my original pics - WOW! I most definately see a difference! I'm just tickled to death every time I look at the before and now pictures side by side.

A coworker gave me one of those scales that measures body fat and hydration because the cover for the battery compartment is missing and she just bought a new one. I stepped on this morning and it said I was 139.8, 27% body fat, and 51% water (which I understand means I'm sufficiently hydrated). I think I'm gonna like this new toy!!! Especially when it gives me numbers like that!

Yesterday was a hectic day. My car has been vibrating while driving higher speeds, so I took it in to the shop over my lunch hour to see if maybe a tire was out of balance or something. Turned out that a ball joint was busted. Plus I needed new tires. So almost 6 hours and $600 later I finally got out of there. I was NOT a happy camper. My healthy snacks were at my office, along with my water bottle. I was tired and cranky by the time I headed home, so just picked up McDonalds for everyone. I had a 4 pc chicken nugget kids meal with apples and milk, so actually wasn't too bad for calories. I was WAY under for calories for the day though. But by the time I got home I was too tired to even keep my eyes open. I skipped lifting weights and just went to bed. My thinking is that the lower cals for the day cancel out the fact that I didn't work out on a scheduled day.

Looking forward to my run tonight though!!!

Here are my updated pics beside my originals. Scale said 140.2 last night when they were taken.

GIRL!! That body comparison is CRAZY! Looks like you lost those 45 pounds AND twenty years off the condition of your skin!!! Mother-Daughter comparison!!

THANKS! It's amazing what a little bit of a tan does for skin covered with stretch marks!

Wow Tig, seriously that comparison says it all!! What a change - you must feel so chuffed when you look at those photographs - all that hard work worth it! WELL DONE!

Thanks everyone!!!

Sorry I've been a bit absent over the last few days. The day that I had to have my car worked on I picked up a cross stitch kit from a kraft store near the shop and worked on it to kill time. I've never done one before - and I'm afraid now I'm addicted!!! It's all I do lately in my spare time.

Speaking of being addicted... I've been running on my scheduled days, but the last week I haven't managed to make myself get up and lift weights once. Shame on me. I'm really, really, really gonna try tomorrow (my next weights day). But really? I'd rather run.

WHOA!!! Did I just say that???!?!?!?!?

I can't believe how many people lately have told me (when they found out I've started running) that they admire me and all that, but they just can't run. That they aren't runners. They have so many excuses and don't even want to hear about how they really could become a runner if they wanted to. If I can do it, ANYONE can!

lol, I'm jealous! I'm working on the running thing, but it's slow going. I've been on "week one" of the Couch to 5K since the start of summer! I did "week 2" once last week though, so that's progress, I guess. I'm working on it though.

What's the cross stitch picture of? I also do cross stitch, although I go in spurts, where it's all I do for a while, then I don't touch it for months. I have a beautiful angel picture I'm doing for my mom that's been half done for a couple of years, I really need to work on that. Too busy...

Good luck with the weight lifting tomorrow! Or running... lol Either way, it's exercise, right? ^_^

I know exactly what you mean Tigs - I was SO not a runny person. I would never have expected to be doing this. Particularly without like getting breathless or a stitch or anything - to run for an hour without stopping?!?! Up and down hills?!?! That's mad. Ok, so I am slow but heck, I get there! My message has to be if I can do it then anyone can. There's like this crunch point - when you can run say 8 mins or so...then one day just keep going until 12 mins...then 15...then 20...and suddenly you are a runny person!!

I can completely believe that you'd rather run than lift weights - it is so much more satisfying and compared to running, other exercise just seems a bit boring and too much like hard work! Weird!!

You'll get there with the running if you really want it to happen - it just takes time!

The cross stitch is about a 1 foot square with a single hydrangia in the middle with 2 borders of 2 different widths outside of it with hydrangias and leaves. Lots of pretty blues. It is supposed to be made into a throw pillow, but I think I may frame it instead and hang it on the wall.

Tigs, all you need to do now is master the art of cross-stitching WHILST running!! You could do it all day long!
