The amazing shrinking woman (I hope!)

Tig, what exactly is Brisket? :blush5:

No need to blush, Jess! My boss asked me what it was last week and despite the fact that I eat it and love it, I had no idea what to say to him! It's more of a regional thing here (I live in the East but grew up in the Midwest).

So who else is coming with me to Tig's for brisket thanksgiving?!? She has enough spare!!! What time you want us over? Get that hot tub bubbling!! hahahahahaha

Happy Thanksgiving, Tig! Hope the brisket was amazing, we ended up having that on top of the barbecue ribs, barbecue smoked sausage, ham, and turkey.... Needless to say, I am stuffed!

Well done Tigpuppy! Read through most of the post (skimmed a couple sections) yesterday before I was motivated enough to get off my own duff again!

The before and after is certainly inspiring - kudos to you for being able to post them! Thank you for sharing your journey.

Not sure if you are still struggling with a good running bra - but a friend hooked me up with an Enell and I can actually run in it without my two friends bouncing everywhere (I'm currently around a E/F).

Ah huh! Thanks for the description Cabbie - lol @ Laura, thanks :)
I cook corned beef for the hubby and kids all the time, but I boil it.
Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgving, it sounds like such a nice holiday - maybe we should have it here in Australia!

Lol Jess I reckon we have something similar - Australia Day :p except instead of turkey we have prawns and steaks on the bbq. Nothing really happens in the middle of winter here... I reckon we should start having Christmas in the middle of winter, it'd be so much more fun!

Sorry I've been MIA this weekend. Had a lovely time at home with the hubby and kids, ate WAY to much yummy food (losing weight would be SO MUCH easier if I wasn't such a darn good cook!), and have been pretty lazy except for running at least every other day, sometimes more.

Just a quick post before I head off to bed. It's back to work tomorrow again. BAH! It's going to be a long week, but it's the start of a new week and soon a new month. Back on to the old chuck wagon for me as I think I've gained about 3 to 5 lbs over the last week or so.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and I'll be back tomorrow to catch up on journals!

Just finished a somewhat painful 3 mile run. Sports bra + regular bra + rug burns on your shoulders (don't ask) = OUCHIES when you run!!!! Other then that, it feels so good to be running again! Being sick and not running for almost 2 weeks didn't seem to set me back very much (thank goodness!)

I had big long post typed up about holidays and family (mine in partiuclar) with an explanation of all the drama and weirdness in my family then decided not to post it. I don't think you kind folks want to read thru all that crap.

So instead I have to tell you about THE BEST compliment I have ever recieved to date since losing weight. When I got home from work tonight I was changing out of my work clothes into my running clothes when my 9 year old daughter came in. I was feeling crappy because I stepped on the scale (when I had told myself I wasn't going to) and confirmed that I had gained a little over 4 lbs from all the bad food choices the last week or so. Didn't help that I haven't been drinking much water either until today. I drank 2 libers but only peed 3 times - so all that water is still in me somewhere. Anyway, my daughter was laying on my bed watching me and she said "You know what mom? You look REALLY sexy! I mean you are totally HOT now!" I don't know why it meant so much to me, but it did. Her telling me that I was fat last year was one of the most hurtful things ever said to me, so maybe that's why? I could see the pride shining in her eyes and it meant the world to me knowing that she could be proud to tell people I'm her mother and not be ashamed.

Well, that's all folks! I'm off to bed because I have to get up extra early to drive up to the city for work tomorrow (if I can get out of my yard that is!) with lots of meetings scheduled. We've gotten a couple more inches of snow, and the 40 mph winds have piled it up into drifts all over. I'm getting so sick of winter already, and there are still 4 or 5 months of it left to go!

Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bugs out! (as my twins would say)

You know why it meant more coming from your daughter? Because they're honest! Well at that age anyway :)

That's so cool!

PS Lol @ the rug burns! It sounds like someone else thinks you're one sexy mama too

Okay so somehow I missed the rug burn line... HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!? I must be slipping...

Oh and for the record, as a man... I find the whole sprots bra and extra support thing amusing on my level because frankly I don't have to wear one... But I can see the point. It's a shame that the girls cause so much trouble for you well endowed ladies who choose to run. It's why I've recommended cycling to certain moonbeamish friends...:sifone:

Ok, so the rug burn story..... Highlight to read and only read if TMI stuff doesn't bother you....

I was showing hubby how awesome my tummy looks when I'm sort of upside down with my head, neck and shoulders on the floor, knees bent and my rear up in the air. Everything sort of slides up and smoothes out and I look like I'm 18 again. Well, apparently he's always really loved my hip bones (which he could see for the first time in a decade or 2 when I was in that particular position) and one thing sort of led to another which led to my head and shoulders remaining on the floor but with my feet on his shoulders. I guess I got a bit carried away in the moment because I didn't notice until AFTER how badly my shoulders were burning - because I'd rubbed the skin off of them! OUCH!

So now I try not to wince or show how much it hurts when taking my coat on and off, or lifting the shoulder strap of my laptop bag because I DO NOT want people to notice and have to explain this one! :blush5:

awww Tig that made me laugh :)

And your daughter from what I read in earlier post is so awesome, you deserve the compliment and to be proud yourself of getting this far!

PS. Hope the rug burns heal up fast!

Your rugburn explanation cracked me up! It sounds like 'frisky' is making a regular return in your house.

As for your daughter - just a thought - perhaps her compliment meant so much because you really value the opinion of the ones you love most.

Ok, so I'm back down to 138.2 this morning from 139.7 on Monday morning. I've had a very good food day so far and am under 1100 cals for the day. I haven't had a single unhealthy snack today - not even chocolate! I had to work tonight, but am finished now so was doing some half assed ab toning exercises but all I really want to do is pig out on the frozen cheesecake I bought for hubby. He was asking me to make some from scratch, but I know he'll only eat a piece or 2 and then I'll be stuck eating the rest so it doesn't go to waste. So I've been making excuses not to make it. Then at the store tonight I found individual slices of cheesecake in the frozen dessert area. So I picked up a couple for him so that I wouldn't be tempted by having a WHOLE cheesecase in the house, but he can still get his cheesecake fix.

HELP!!!! I NEED AN INTERVENTION!!!!

MUST. RESIST. THE. CHEESECAKE!!!!!!!!

LOL at the rug burn story and double LOL at Cabby's comment.
I love it when the family compliment me. I always hated it when my husband or kids introduced me to people as I felt as though I was letting them down by the way I looked and it is a great feeling that they can be proud of me now. Not they weren't already proud of me as I always get on well with my kids friends but it's just a silly feeling that I always had inside.
