The amazing shrinking woman (I hope!)

I refuse to put cheesecake in my house.
Cheesecake is evil.
I like to reasonably believe that I can eat most foods in moderation, but cheesecake is not one of those foods.

It's too delicious.

Tig, seriously, awesome story, but umm... pictures please...

EEEEEEWWWW!!!!!!!!! Why would you want to see pictures of scabby rug burns???

Every time I see big scabs like this it always makes me remember the time when I was about 10 years old I had fallen and scraped my shin from just below the knee to just above my foot and about an inch and a half wide. It was huge and UGLY! And when it healed, the scab came off in one big long piece.

Know what I did with it? :reddevil:

I told my brother it was beef jerky and he ate it!!!! :smilielol5:

OMG that is gross but I have to admit that sometimes as I child I used to eat the scabs off my knees. I would be sick if I saw a kid do that now!!!!!

Ahhh.... (big sigh) I feel SO good right now! Just finished a nice 3 mile run and have that pleasantly sore feeling in my legs. Relaxing with my feet up and waiting for it to be bedtime for the kids so hubby and I can enjoy some peace and quiet. The weather must be changing or something because they are all acting like they are NUTS!

I'm thinking a lot of what I gained over Thanksgiving must have been water retention because I was down to 137.6 this morning. I had a super good food day today with no naughty snacks. And I was abl to resist the cheesecake. :drool5: I asked hubby to hide it. Otherwise I'm sure it would be gone.

Tomorrow I work in the city and I'm meeting an old friend there for lunch. We used to get together once a month for lunch, but she started a new job last fall and I broke my arm and was on leave till it healed so we got out of the habit. I've only seen her once since then. The last time I saw her was this last July. I loved the look on her face when I walked in. She was SO surprised and how much weight I'd lost, which was around 25 or 30 lbs at that time if I remember right. I can't wait to see her reaction to almost 50 lbs being gone. Have been trying to figure out what I should wear.... Hmmm.... Decisions, decisions, decisions!

You guys are disgusting!!! Eating scabs!?!??! YUK! I'm with Cabbie on this one! Although, the rug burn story is hillarious Tig - nearly matches Flumes giving the neighbours a show in the hot tub...

WOw, can't wait to hear what your friend thinks of the new you - how exciting!! Its like a big reveal on a TV show!! I;ve just got an invite to an Xmas night out from some guys I used to work with and I haven't seen them since the summer, so I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction from them too.

Well done on dodging the chesecake!
I hope you have a lovely lunch out tomorrow, your mate is going to freak out when she sees you :coolgleamA:

AWESOME day today!

My friend and I arrived at the same time for lunch so we both had our heavy winter coats on. We were both talking at once saying how good it was to see the other and asking how the other had been while we waited to be seated. When we got to our table and took our coats off my friend's jaw literrally dropped to the floor. She said "I'm sorry, I don't mean to stare but LOOK AT YOU!!!! Oh my gosh! You look so GREAT!!!" It made me feel so good and so proud of myself for accomplishing what I have so far. Several times during lunch while we were chatting she kept shaking her head and saying that she just could NOT believe how different I look. It put a smile on my for the rest of the day and put me into SUCH a good mood.

Even the disaster of supper tonight didn't get me down! I was running an hour late because my last meeting of the day went WAY over on time, so I ran thru a wendy's drive thru to pick up supper for hubby because he had pool league tonight and needed to eat before he left, but wouldn't have time to wait around for me to fix supper. I ordered him a burger and a small bowl of chili with cheese. The girl at the window set the bag with the food in it on the counter just inside the window while she took my debit card to swipe. It's been terribly windy and the wind caught the bag and blew it off the counter. She tried to grab for it, but the bag ripped down the side and the contents went flying. I swear it was just like a cartoon because the bowl of chili flew up in the air and she fumbled it trying to catch it, but ended up making it hit the drive thru window, which made the lid pop off the container. Chili flew EVERYWHERE! All over her, the window, the counter, and the side of my car. The poor girl had SUCH a horrified look on her face - I felt bad for her. But I busted out laughing and could NOT stop! She apologized and refunded my money, plus CAREFULLY gave me a new bag of food. She offered to pay to have my car washed, but I told her that wasn't really necessary, especially since my car was already so dirty from the slushy, muddy roads.

My daughter's dog wanted to clean every spec of chili off my car as soon as I pulled up in front of the house - so we had to grab her and lock her in her kennel until I could clean it off so she wouldn't get sick from any chemicals that may be on my car from what ever it is they put on the roads to melt the ice around here. When I was done we let her back outside and she just about ran my husband over trying to get to my car to find if I had missed any. She was so disappointed not to find anything, so hubby took pity on her and let her lick out his empty chili bowl.

Today's a rest day, so no exercise for me. Gonna put my feet up and have a glass of wine, then head off to dreamland. I'm SO glad that tomorrow is Friday - it's been a LONG week. The week back after a long 4 day weekend always seems extra, super long to me.

Stay healthy everyone!

That must have been such a wonderful feeling!!!! You’ve worked hard, it’s nice to have those moments where you can show it off without even having to say a word.

Don’t you love it when people working in fast food or retail or similar industries actually show they care and have a heart? My boyfriend and I went to Boston Market one day maybe 15 minutes from closing time, and they were all out of turkey (the only thing we get). They apologized, we went on our way, and maybe 5 days later we were back there, again somewhat close to closing time. I made sure they had turkey right off the bat (nicely enough, I was just checking!); the man asks if we had been in there recently when there was none left, we said yes, and he immediately took 50% off of our meals! I was so surprised!

Great reaction from your friend. It amazes me that some people seem to go really overboard about it and others don't even appear to notice. It actually embarrasses me when I get too much of a reaction as I have never really like the attention on me but it gives me a good feeling thinking about it afterwards.

Boy, am I tuckered out tonight! The kids had a 4-H meeting last night and we barely made it home afterwards in the snowstorm that hit. Then this morning the kids and I went out with hubby to help feed the cows. The cow pasture is about 1/4 of a mile from our house, so I decided to walk out while hubby drove out in the tractor after clearing some snow out of the yard. We weren't even out of the yard when the twins were whining about their legs being tired (the snow is just above their knees) so I went back and grabbed a sled. I pulled one of them on the sled while carrying the other on my back.

After the cattle were fed, we walked back home and I made lunch while hubby moved more snow and the kids played outside on the snow piles. After lunch hubby and the twins laid down for a nap and I went for a nice 7 mile run. I felt awesome afterwards!

But boy, by tonight I'm so shot! I can barely keep my eyes open. But I stepped on the scale a little bit ago and I'm down to 136.4 again. Another day or 2 and I should be back down to my pre-Thanksgiving weight! WOO HOO!

That's AWESOME about the reaction from your friend and well deserved!
I had to laugh too about the drive thru -how nice that she was so worried too.
Well done on the loss as well :)
You really inspire me so much Tigs :)

Wow great run Tigs! 7 miles! W00t! I am longing to get back to running but the weather here has been terrible...although I am sort of dreading it too becaues I will be so out of running-shape!

Great reaction from your friend! I bet that made you feel a million dollars! Makes it all worth it! When I went round to see two of my friends, wearing my new skirt suit, the other day witha pair of very high heels. I walked in and they said "oh my goodness you've gone all Ruth" - who is a mutal friend of ours, very slim, known for wearing very feminine business wear with extremely expensive high heeled shoes and looking fab...so I felt great at being likened to her!

I'd love it if someone said that about me too! Bet that had you smiling the whole rest of the day!

Well, walked out again to help hubby feed the cattle, this time pulling 2 sleds with the twins on them. I wasn't watching the gate very well and some of the cattle almost got out, so I had to run my butt off to head them off. I noticed something weird though. It's hard to explain, but I almost felt sort of dizzy or disoriented from looking out a distance as I ran. I'm not sure if my brain and eyes are so used to what it sees while I run on the treadmill that it doesn't know how to correctly process that bobbing up and down vision when I run outside any more. It was very disturbing and made me feel 'off'. Maybe this spring after all the snow is melted I will have to try running outside again to to 'undo' this? Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced something like this?

Anyway, stepped on the scale today and I was back down to 135.4, which is a tiny bit less than the lowest I have been so far. I was SO excited to see that I've finally undone all the bad eating I did over Thanksgiving.

It's kind of nice to know that I can splurge for a while, but then I can always get back down to where I want to be again. I think right now my 'panic weight' is 140 - if I hit that again I know I have to get my rear in gear and start making things go back the other direction again. I don't EVER want to go above that again!

Some of you may have noticed that I now have an avvie picture by my name. My 9 year old daughter sometimes peeks over my shoulder when I'm on here and she keeps bugging me about why I don't have a picture and everyone else does. So I finally made one. Hopefully if anyone IRL sees it, they won't recognize it as me quite so easily. And hopefully now all you folks on here won't just think of me as that fat chick in the ugly granny undies! :coolgleamA:

Well, it's Monday and back to the grind of work and all that. I have a mandatory all staff meeting on Wednesday that I'm both dreading and looking forward to. I dread sitting there trying to stay awake for 4 hours straight, but am looking forward to hearing people's reactions to seeing me after another long spell. We also have a department Christmas party/luncheon next week. We used to have a formal Christmas gala every year, but attendance has been really down the past few years and it was decided to change it to a bowling party. Well, I'd never attended the formal one (mainly because I've had small children to deal with, or else the weather hasn't cooperated) but I sort of wish we were having that this year instead of a huge bowling party. I'd love to dress up and show off my new figure! And since I sort of hate bowling, I doubt I'll attend the party.

Hubby's shooting club usually has a big Christmas party every year as well, but almost none of the members showed up to the last shoot of the year back in October, which is when they usually set the date - so no date got set. No one has said anything about having one this year. So other than the fireman's ball (hubby is a volunteer fireman for our district) there don't appear to be very many parties going on this year.

Everyone's all bah humbug I guess!

I love the new pic! A little mystery, a little intrigue.... two things all of us ladies should have a little of!
