SunnyDee's Diary

Hey Dee. Hope you're having a great day. I feel like I haven't been around lately. Too much to do at work. Cold here today, but we're supposed to get warm tomorrow.

Take Care.

Hi ladies! Thanks for stopping by.

Breakfast: 1 slice whole wheat bread w/ margarine & apple-strawberry jam, cran-grape juice
Snack: Brocolli florets & carrot sticks w/ calorie-wise ranch dip, 1 peanut butter cup, 1 chocolate chip cookie
Lunch: Turkey sandwich (2 slices ww bread, turkey breast, honey mustard), strawberry yogurt
Snack: Peach
Supper: 6 bite-size Italian meatballs, mixed veggies (green beans, carrots, peas, corn)

We had a social for our mental health patients at the hospital today. That's where the peanut butter cup and cookie came from.

. Is there any particular reason why you want to do courses over the summer? Or can they wait?

This may be confusing.. I'll try to make it simple though. Well, I have 91 credits. I need 120 to graduate and 36 of them have to be for my Major.

Out of the 91, 73 are gen ed courses and I need 18 more Major classes. soo.. 6 more classes for English Major .. I am trying to take 2 in the first summer session.. 1) Creative Writing and #2)African Literature. Second summer session 1)Islam and Middle Eastern Lit (which is a Seminar class==class that's gonna kick my ass with papers). Then I'll only need 3 more courses for Major.. which I'll take 2 in the fall and 1 in the spring. From there, I'll have 109 credits and will need 11 more credits to graduate.

6 of them can come from PE courses ...which I plan to utilize :) :)..and then I'll have to see about the other 5. This will put me as a college graduate in the Spring of 2009! ...I'll be turning 30 that year.. OUCH!!!

Photocrazed - Ok, I understand about the courses. In that case, I guess it really is best if you do some over the summer session. BOOOO ON SCHOOL! Waiting patiently for April 2008... and then I'm actually planning to do 4 years of med school!?! Is there something wrong with me?!?!

I didn't do any working out today. Took a day off, just for the heck of it. I weighed myself this morning and discovered that I have 1.8 lbs to lose before reaching my monthly goal. I was kind ticked... But, I have 10 days. And lots of people lose 2 lbs in 10 days, so why not me? Right? I'll make it. And when I do, I can say that things have been going along perfectly to plan. I will reach my goal within 3-4 more months. I'm excited!

Breakfast: Bowl of raisin & almond granola w/ skim milk
Lunch: Bowl of chili, whole wheat bun w/ 2 tsp margarine
Snack: Orange
Supper: Bowl of moose stew, 2 slices bread
Snack: Nectarine

Where are you girl?

I see you all over the forums, but you haven't posted an update yet!

How are you?
:)

I have good timing. I was hiding in the corner, waiting for you to come into my diary so I could post before you criticized me for not updating. :p

only 1.8 pounds to go?! that's great!

i have lost fairly slowly this month. not quite sure what the problem is, but at least i haven't gone up!

thanks for stopping my my diary! :)

Only 1.8lbs to go this month :) Still quite a ways to go before I reach my goal of 150.

You're right, Debi. Gradual, consistent weight loss is key. That's why I set the 3-5lb a month rule. It ensures that I'll make progress, but also ensures I'll be kind to myself. I know I could have lost all 20 lbs in 3 or 4 months if I really wanted to. But it wouldn't be worth it because I know I could never maintain that lifestyle and I would just pack it all back on.

Good morning! Good job on only having 1.8lbs left to lose this month! Losing slowly is definitely good if it means not depriving yourself. I agree with you that it has to be a lifestyle change otherwise those pounds will magically reappear!!

Woohoo, 1.8lbs left until you've reached your first goal. That is so good sunny. It's so awesome to see everyone making progress. Keep it up girl. I'll be right there with you to celebrate when you hit your goal.

Thanks for all the very encouraging words, everybody! It's very much appreciated. I really feel like I wouldn't be able to do this without everyone here. Everytime I come on here, I'm reminded that this goal is completely attainable and I have nothing to fret over. :) Like Debi said, there should be no reason to have to lose the weight all over again.

On that note... I have a birthday cake to bake. lol At least I'm making a low fat one :p It's the boyfriend's 22nd birthday tomorrow and we're having some people over tomorrow night, so I'm baking him a cake. I'm only gonna have one piece tomorrow night, so I won't wake up feeling like I've abused myself. Luckily, I've never been a huge fan of cake (except for cheescake and carrot cake!), which means there's only a slim chance of me overindulging anyway. I'm more concerned about him pigging out anyway. He's lost 30 lbs since late Fall 2006! He's gotten down to 197 (and he's totally hot! lol). So I feel guilty tempting him with bad food. I'm sure we'll both do fine.
