SunnyDee's Diary

Good to see you back! Sleep tight!
Juliette
Ahhh... I was a lovely sleep, thank you :) I couldn't sleep as long as I wanted though. Oh well.

Hi Sunny!

I have to say I am soooo jealous, you got to see The Killers! Have fun with your par-tay this weekend and good luck with turning the sleep schedule around!

ann
It was a wicked concert! You should be jealous. lol

Ooo enjoy your weekend off!! :jump:
I most certainly will. That's a promise! I'm doing some cleaning and stuff now, to get that boring stuff out of the way.

Glad you're feeling better! Wow, you've been working so hard, Dee! I'm so amazed that you're switching up your sleeping schedules so effortlessly! I'd be a grumpy bunny if I did THAT! HAVE FUN PARTYING! Enjoy!!
It makes me a little grumpy. But I'm getting used to it. Such is the life of a shift worker!

Once again, I apologize for anyone whose diary I didn't visit. I just went into my recent posts through my profile and started hitting. If I didn't visit, it doesn't mean I don't care. I sure do. :) I'm just exhausted and on my way to bed. So I'll drop by tomorrow.
I have some good news... I think I've done it. I'm currently 1.5 lbs away from my goal weight! Crazy or what? I really can't believe I'm this close! It felt like this day would never come :) I don't feel like I'm quite as toned as I was, so I'm a little scared that I've lost weight from muscle mass. But that doesn't scare me too much because I know I have lost a ton of fat and I find it easier to build muscle than lose fat. I did see 149.8 on the weekend, but I was probably just dehydrated, so I'm not counting it. But the mere thought of being so close that I'm able to occassionally see numbers in the 140s... is just awesome. My weight fluctuates a couple of lbs like everybody's, so I suppose I could say I've reached my goal. But I won't because my official end-of-month weigh-in is on Thursday. Let's hope it goes well!!

Yeah, it's a great feeling! :jump: Official weigh-in is tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed for me. I badly overate at a buffet last night, so I don't expect to be any less than 151.5. But I can totally live with 151.5! I'll still have met my monthly goal and be ridiculously close to 150!

Thanks for the nice comments, everybody!
So the official number is 151.5. Not too shabby! I'm approaching the scariest part of this whole journey - keeping the weight off. Yikes. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'd like to be 145, so I still have a little more losing to do. I won't freak out if I don't make it to 145 though. lol I'll be very pleased with myself for having reached 150. I'd like to have all the fat I've lost in a big plastic bag to see what it looks like. Pretty damn nasty, I bet.
Anyway, I was in the middle of vacuuming and decided to take a break and come online. I should get back at it.

Less than a kilo - lordy !! Nice stuff Sunny !!

I <3 the meh on 145. I'm getting closer to that feeling too. I could stay where I'm at now and be just as happy as I would at 190.

Anyhoot, ZzZzZz in peace, we'll be quiet for ya ;)

Just got back from a couple of days across the border. Had quite a lovely time in the USA, but I'm pretty sure I'll pay when I step on the scales tomorrow. C'est la vie! We found a little hole in the wall that sold beer for $1.25. So I ended up having a nice night out for $2.50! HA! We met some friendly New Yorkers who were generous about buying drinks. Some of them were perhaps a little too friendly, especially when we told them we were Newfies. I take it we have a bit of a reputation. :p
It's my 22nd birthday! Or, at least it was before midnight. Now it's just the boring day after my birthday. So, that's also part of the reason I got so many free drinks and shots.
Matt will be here on Friday morning, which I'm obviously VERY excited about!!! That weekend will prove to be bad for the weight loss as well because I'm having a birthday party on Saturday night. There will be quite a lot of calories available for consumption. I'll try to behave.

Hey, try to enjoy your birthday celebrations in the midst of all that behaving, will you... ;)

Happy Birthday, Sunnyyyyyyyyy!

:hug2:

Thanks Juliette! Don't worry, I will definitely enjoy myself. :D

I weighed myself this morning. I gained 2 lbs during my excursion to the states. I blame Applebee's & Bob Evans. They were dangerously close to my hotel, constantly tempting me. I'm not getting bent outta shape over 2 lbs though. It'll be gone before I know it. Guess what else happened while I was across the border? I tried Olestra chips for the first time. NOT a pleasent experience. It made me very sick. That stuff's just messed up. Fat free or not, I hope Olestra is never approved in Canada!
On a brighter note, I did some shopping while I was there and finally bought some pants that fit! In size 8! Yay! One pair of jeans is the best pair of jeans I've ever had in my life. Sooo comfy. And makes my ass look even nicer than it already is. ;) Heehee

olestra used to come with a warning on it that it could give a person the hershey squirts :) it' definitely has a gross effect on people :D

Nice goinh on a size 8you are a skinny minny :D yay you :)

Yeah man, that stuff's just nasty! Other than that one bad eating experience, I enjoyed myelf quite nicely. Although, I always notice that the food portions are HUGE in the states. I can eat almost everything on my plate at Applebee's here, but I didn't even HALF (literally!) in New York.
I'm not quite a skinny minny, but definitely a skinnier minny! I'll admit, I feel pretty hot!

Congrats on the jeans! There's nothing quite like a well fitting pair... ;)
And you definitely have the right attitude towards those two pounds (which, of course, could already be gone as I'm sitting here writing this).
What is olestra exactly? Some kind of a fat substitute? It has not landed here yet, and I doubt it will. My people are extremely suspicious of everything artificial...
And...
Feeling hot is exactly what you should be doing! :D

Hey Dee,
Sorry I haven't been around lately. Very busy at work, barely keeping my head above water! Anyhow, congrats on the size 8! I looked at your ticker too.... WOW almost to your goal!

Keep up the good work!
Jenn

It was first marketed in the late 90s in a brand of potato chips - that were low fat and fairly low calorie but didnt taste like the baked potato chips...

Olestra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
However, by 2000 sales slowed to $200 million, largely caused by the unappealing health warning label, which was mandated by the FDA:
This Product Contains Olestra. Olestra may cause abdominal cramping and loose stools. Olestra inhibits the absorption of some vitamins and other nutrients. Vitamins A, D, E, and K have been addedDoesn't it make it sound yummy :D

Yuk. And thanks for the explanation. We don't have it. I think it's safe to say we don't miss it. I'm ok with fat, both in foods and in me, as long as it's of natural origin. ;)

Happy be-lated birthday!!! I ahven't been in , in a while and won't be around much for a while ,but want to drop in and check on my friends from time to time. Have a great day!!:)
