SunnyDee's Diary

Just stopping by your diary. It looks like your pretty close to your goal. You've worked hard. I'm impressed. I know what you mean about refusing to "believe" something is clean unless you cleaned it. I have that same problem. I'm definitely a little OCD, for sure. Thank you so much for stopping by my diary, I have seen you post a lot on here (I used to be a major lurker)....

-Sam:)
Thanks for the nice comments! Yeah, I generally post quite a bit on here. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a little freaky about stuff being clean. If I do it myself, I know it's done right. But I'm that way about a lot of things. So maybe I'm more narcissistic than obsessive-compulsive. :p

I hope the rest of the time with your parents went well and that you don't miss them too much when they leave. And we'll be here, should you need company. ;)
They just left about 15 mins ago, so the initial loneliness has kicked in. But it will subside shortly. I'll be in excellent spirits by the time I go out with the girls tonight. WHOOO!

I certainly will. :)

I tried tuna today for the first time since I was a kid. I never liked it, but I think it's because I always associate tuna with mayo... and I hate mayo. Laura left 20 cans of tuna here (no joke!) and left me a note telling me to eat some, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I mixed vinegar into it and really liked it! So now I have another meat to incorporate into my diet.

If you don't eat too much of it (Mercury content) tuna is really low cal and makes packs some nutritional muscle. I lhave had a taste for a tuna melt for awhile. Even with cheese its really not bad.

Hey Sunnydee. I am glad to hear you tried tuna. I usually mix mine with some light miracle whip, spicy mustard, and sometimes pickles and celery. It's really pretty good... Seasoning it with dill isn't bad either. I just still get nervous about what the healthy amount to eat is. I now eat it a few times per week due to the fact that it is a cheap and lean protein :)

I noticed that most people who are trying to lose weight seem to turn to tuna, so I thought it was worth a shot. My doctor tells me because of my UC I need to eat fish/seafood at least once or twice a week to keep my digestion working smoothly. So now I have another fish thing to eat!

I'm going to the gym shortly. It's soooo wonderful to be back to my own gym. I can't wait to go! And I'm actually going to wear shorts rather than sweat pants. I usually hide my legs because they are incredibly white, but now I have nice tanned legs. lol Which I've been showing off lots lately.

Lots to do today. Getting together with my buddy Kyle later to do some hardcore MCAT studying. I start my summer job tomorrow. Same job I've done three summers in a row - instructing at a camp for high school students who want to pursue health care careers. It's a pretty sweet job.

tuna you can mix with a variety of things... none of them being mayo :) pick a salad dressing you like and you can use that.. :D even plain vinegar is really tasty :)

Yay for trying something new - atta girl :)

I'd eat tuna every day if i could, what holds me back with it is the amount of sodium in it.. and the low sodium stuff just doesn't taste aa good :D

Yuck I hate mayo also!!! Gag!! But I do like mirical whip and it's lower fat especially if you get the lite stuff! I can eat tuna ok, it's not my fav as nit contains fish, but I can eat it. Have I mentioned I hate fish? Hope you don't studt so hard that you fry your brain! Have a great day!!:)

I would just like to take a moment in praise of nicely tanned legs...Ah OK. Good luck with that summer job. That does sound like a pretty sweet gig. Have a great week!

I wondered about mixing it with salad dressing. I didn't so if it would taste weird or not. I may try it though. Plain vinegar is what I tried and enjoyed.

I also hate Miracle Whip! I'm one of those people who really can't tell the difference between mayo and Miracle Whip. They taste the same to me! That taste being much like crap.

They're quite nice! lol I'm usually white as a sheet, so this is a huge deal to me.

Yay for tuna!!

I am a fish taco fan--would have those every other day, myself. :)
I'm pretty sure I could never eat it that often. But it's nice to have another option!

Have fun at your summer job! :) Sounds like a very worthwhile thing to do.
It's the best job ever, I'm pretty sure. lol

The plan to start posting my food again hasn't been working out too well. Between work and studyng for the MCAT, I'm gonna have one busy, busy, busy summer. I'm proud to say I've been doing extremely well this week. I've eaten an insane amount of fruit. Much more than I usually do. But last night I had ice cream after supper and then ate some ketchup chips later on with my friend. Not so good! We'll call that my cheat day for the week. And I didn't get to the gym today. But I'm definitely going tomorrow.

Steve posted somewhere about the value of the occassional cheat day. They do help reassure your body that you're not starving and that is even more important as you get closer to goal.

I certainly do enjoy the occasional cheat day. :) I'd be such a sad person if I wasn't allowed to have them.

Just got back from the gym a little while ago. I had a fantastic workout. Weights were really good today, but my running was cut short because I got a horrible stitch. I haven't gotten a stitch in a long time, but I got a really bad one today. I keept slowing down more and more, hoping that the low intensity would help, but it didn't. :( So I only ran for 16 mins. But oh well. I walked for a long time to make up for it.

Well, I'm off for a long day of MCAT studying!
