Stopinthe excuses & starting a diary

I did really get alot of info about why i struggle w/ my weight and the little things to change to help. she feels strongly that i have a hormone imbalance which isnt making this easy on me...so she made some suggestions...and also wants me to cut most of my carbs out... like down to maybe 1 serving a week of bread/pasta whichever. Even the whole wheat she said can be too much on you. Its going to be a challenge doing that but i can do it.

Food for today

B: 1 pkt oatmeal

S: no snack

L: 2 egg omelet w/ 1 oz chicken, asparagus, red peppers, artichokes, 1 tsp parm ch. 1 4 oz yogurt
1 cup green tea

S: 1 banana w/ 1 tbsp PB
1 cup green tea

D: 4 oz salmon grilled w/ lemon & dill, steamed spinach, handful of cherry tomatoes w/ 1 oz mozz. ch.
1 4 oz glass of lite soy milk

water 100 oz

after tennis had a handful of mixed nuts

Exercise: 1.5 hrs tennis

Hmm sounds like a good idea, does she allow carbs in the form of fruits and veggies bc youll need to get fibre somehow. theres a huge spectrum of carbs out there did she mainly mean in the form bread and pastas and such...or like all carbs. sorry im not trying to be nosey just curious as to what your doing, sounds sorta like what im gonna atempt to do starting next week :)

Yes.. she does.. she really wants me to go w/ the natural carbs and not the processed ones mostly. I just eat more bread & pasta than i realized and even if its whole grain at times it still turns to fat... and w/ my hormone malfunction its working against me. Ive also started soy & flax oil caps... she has some other ideas also like more green tea and that kind of thing.

Food for today:
B: 1 pkt oatmeal w/ 1tbsp of PB in it, 1/2 banana
coffee w/ soy milk

S: slimfast low carb shake (20 gr protein, only 2 net carbs, 180 cal)

not sure about the rest.

Going to do my hill from hell here today to warm up for my 10K tomorrow... I ll be pushing the stroller & Ill take my time but i know ill burn some serious cal doing this...
probably do a lot of stretching tonight so that im limber & ready...I guess there are alot of hill at this 10K..so im a little apprehensive as to what my stamina will be..but excited to try it.
 
good for you for eating salmon! i tried it because i heard on oprah it has soooo many benefits. but i couldnt stand the taste of it and im not a picky eater!
love cold green tea in small amounts, but when i tried replacing my coffee with hot green tea, ended up with head in toilet.
 
Yeah..i cant do tea or water in the morning..but i love my coffee & dont intend to give it up. I do iced green tea also...love that.
 
Good luck on your 10K!!!! im so happy for you :D your gonna be great, go get em girl!!!
dont worry so much,pace your self at first :) usually we get all excited and pumped up and try and push too much in the first few k's, but i find if you go nice and steady the whole way you end up not as tired.

I think i just keep picturing this hill that never ends and i think..what am i nuts..i cant do this...but i know i can..its all about pacing myself you are absolutely right!

rest of my food:

L: mixed greens salad, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup taboli, 1 oz lean ham chopped, balsamic vinegar for dressing, 1 plum
1 4 oz v8

S: 15 thin crisp triscuits w/ red pepper humus (3tbsp) and one apple.
green tea

D: leftovers- chicken w/ veggies on pasta, soy milk 1/2 cup
mixed nuts for snack later

water 128 oz
supplements: 2 fish caps, 1 multivitamin
 
Saturdays food:
B: 1 pkt oatmeal , 1/2 whole wheat bagel 2/ PB, 1 banana
coffee w/ soy milk

no snack..just lots of watered down gatorade & water...
had a 1/2 sandwich when i finished the 10K

L: 3 egg omelet w/ 1 oz ham, asparagus, 2 slices of munster ch. 1/2 whole wheat bagel

D: 1 turkey burger w/out the bun, veggies on the grill

water: at least 150 oz

I did it ladies...I did my 10K..which i found out is the toughest in NE under 2 hrs ..even w/ the hills has us averaging over 3 mph
 
Thanks L! Im tired and a bit sore today but i feel like i did something amazing yesterday..then my hubby and I went to a concert until 11pm last nite and i was on my feet most of the evening. The only down side is Im retaining fluid from yesterday and i think its the gatorade i drank..im up 2 lbs on the scale due to fluid...im gonna push the water today.
 
You did do something amazing girl!!! im very happy for you :D i remember the first one i did (for the march of dimes)you get such a feeling of accomplishment (sp?) when your done, glad that you had a great experience and that you had good weather to do it in.
i think retaining water is normal, drink lots of water today, cut back on the salts a little and everything will be back to normal in no time(that asparaguss trip you gave me works too)

yes..i was thinkin the same thing..i have some asparagus in my fridge and ill be comsumin that for lunch i believe!

Food for today... little tired today but not bad, really retaining fluid so im pushin the water hard.

B: 2 eggs, 3 slices of lean bacon, 1 slice of whole wheat toast w/ spray butter

S: 1 protein slimfast shake

L: large green salad w/ lean roast beef, 1 oz of cheese sliced, lots of veggies, balsamic vinegar, 1/4 c taboli

D: 2 small turkey burgers no bread, 3 bean salad & marinated mushrooms 1 small slice of watermelon. 40z soy milk

1 sugar free icecream bar 140 cal

exercise...just did some gardening & planted my veggie garden...took it kinda easy but have done lots of stretching today. I have tennis practice tomorrow nite so that will kick my butt too!

My tennis lesson got cancelled as everyone couldnt go & I just cant afford $60 on my own... at least w/ the others we split the cost. I guess Kathy Smith & I have a date for tonight...doin my fat burning workout.
Thanks to all of you for your support regarding the 10K..really it is so appreciated. I am so proud of myself. I just went & had coffee w/ an old friend and she said i look better than ive ever looked..which was really nice to hear.

D: 1 turkey burger & 1 small steak tip w/ 1/2 c 3 bean salad...leftovers
1 soy decaf lattee then I had a slice of pizza! bad, very naughty!

water 100 oz
green tea: 1 cup

exercise: only did stretches..never got any time to workout..bummer!

sorry about your tennis lesson sucks when plans fall through. but hey you got a compliment from a friend excellent!!means your doing it. way to go!! :)
 
Thanks L... today will make up for it..i never ended up working out and i wish i did cuz then my hubby has pizz in front of me and i had a piece..then this morning im like, why did i do that at 8:30 at nite! oh well, move on...
this morning I walked 3.5 miles in 1 hr and I have 2 hrs of tennis tonight..so that pizza isnt go stay w/ me long!
