Stickin' to it

The end of the school year is a joyful and horrible time isn't it. Its great to know you'll be done, but the last few busy weeks really suck.

Don't be jealous but I am finished class in a week and a half. WooHoo!!!! However you still have me beat as I have another year to go :(

Thanks luscious! I'm so excited to be back and on track.

I just did my cardio today. I wore my heart rate watch and pressed the button like every few minutes to try to get an accurate reading. I really need to find out what others think about those.

But I did W5D2 of the C25K and OMG.. I'm not sure how I'll make it through the 20 min run. YIKES! My legs right now are Jello. So 33 mins treadmill and 30 mins on the cross trainer hill intervals again. I'll post details in the c25k thread.

This morning the scale said 156.2, so while It's not that great, it's not too bad I guess. Hopefully it's because of TOM and I will see a pretty good drop by Monday.

Tash sweetie, don't worry about the weight gain. With all of this cardio, I don't see how you could HONESTLY be back up to 156. I'm with you on the TOM being at fault.

Congrats on doing so much exercise! You really do motivate me to run just those couple more minutes. You're motivation that I draw on, so thank you so much for being alive. I couldn't imagine not knowing ya'. LOL.

Hey everyone! Weight this morning.. 156.4 but that's ok I know I'm doing things right so hopefully it'll go down soon enough.

I hit the gym after my 8am class and did 60 mins on the elliptical on the fat burn mode heart rate was between 124 & 133 but I tried to keep it lower than 130. 4.20 miles in 60 minutes.

I'll go back to the gym later with hubby and probably walk or something. I was going to do C25K but I'm not sure I want to do that today.. I may give myself a break and try it out tomorrow.. the 20 minute run.

Saturday, we have a birthday party to go to and hopefully the weather is nice and cooperative.

So far today for food I've had

PBJ sammich
skim milk & ovaltine

Be patient with the weight....

I'm doing a real strict diet. Strict being a major understatements. And for the first few days I actually gained weight.

It will come as long as you're doing the right things consistently.
 
The weight is definitely going to budge. I can't get over how many miles you are doing. Its awesome. You definitely make me feel like a wuss. LOL. You'll be fine with the 20min run. It was tough but not "that" tough. Especially with the amount of cardio you're doing. I agree, though...if in doubt give yourself a day's break, then do it. You have to psych yourself up to it a bit. Just think, though, the beginning of week 6 is back to intervals. I can't believe we've made it this far in c to 5k, buddy!
 
Hey Tasha.

Great job on all the exercise. I gotta make sure I get my butt to the gym tonite after work... I know my weight is doing crazy things right now too but, I don't think I'm quite as consistent as you. I really struggle with keeping my diet in check sometimes. Working on it though.

Rachel, Sam, Steve, and luscious, thanks for your words of encouragement. They are really helping especially since all I'm seeing on the scale are increasing numbers lately.

I'm busting my ass counting every calorie and fat gram and still am only seeing upward movement. Yesterday I did 1.78 miles on the treadmill walking at an incline and 4.20 miles on the elliptical and ate <1700 calories and guess what.. I'm up another 1.5 lbs. It's so discouraging exercising so much and seeing no progress on the scale. I'm drinking at least 96 oz water daily.. UGH There hasn't been a big change in the way my clothes are fitting either so I can't measure by that too.

I'm just down in the dumps today I guess and well, I need to get myself to the gym for my C25K run.. maybe I'll just do it at home today. If I start feeling a little better later then I'll come visit diaries, but I don't want to foul up everyone else's. :(

Your dedication to both your food and exercise are inspiring! All the hard work and consistency will pay off in the end... Steve said so. :)
 
Thanks for visiting. Losing weight is a PITA! It's like you think you've got it all under control and bam a complete stop or 360. I'm sure it's your body readjusting. Just keep up the work and you will see the results.
 
Things will change, soon I know it. It is probably water or something else. I doubt it's fat. It sure as heck happened to me last week...but I think things are better now. Well, at least until I really screwed up yesterday...

Hang in there Tash. You've been doing very well. Have you taken measurements or a BF % lately? I just know it gets frustrating to weigh yourself, the scale can be so frustrating. Lately, the scale hasn't been moving down too much for me either but I just know I've probably lost a couple inches, and some BF.

Thank you all for your encouragement, sweatpea, tyly, Sam, Luscious!! I'm hoping I'm going to see a downward trend now.

So the weight thing is still driving me nuts. Hubby has decided that I'm more depressed because of the amount of time I spend counting calories and logging every single food that I eat and then once I see an increase (even though I've eaten less etc) that it hits me harder.

I'm hoping to see the numbers start moving down again rather than going up too.

I need to take my measurements as Sam suggested. My pant/short size still seems the same, although I did go shopping yesterday and found a dress that I thought was cute. It's a halter dress (from Kohl's) and I tried on a size 10 and it was the slightest amount too big, and I thought there would be no way an 8 would fit, but I was WRONG. It fit me perfectly. I know I won't fit into an 8 pants anytime soon, but I was so happy to see this dress fit so well.

I'm in a size 11-12 pant. the 12's are starting to feel a little looser on me, but I'm still a ways from a 10.


This weekend we went to a birthday party for my friends 4 yo. We had a great time. There was this pond that we took a walk around and then spent 30 or so minutes skipping rocks across. It was so much fun!

I got an invitation to a childhood friends baby shower (she is also married to my 1st cousin) but the invite came the weekend before the shower, and well, It's 5 hours away! UGH. Now I see why you send out invites and such before. Will it be terrible if I not go? Plus, she hasn't registered anywhere.. so I'm not sure what to get her.

Volleyball starts this week. We have a practice tonight, and our first game is Thursday! I'm hoping my finger (the one I tore a ligament on) can work without tape, but I'm afraid to try--hmm.. maybe I'll see how I can do setting with tape on the finger and then go from there. Now though, I'm going to have to start doing my strength training at a different time.. either before or after the games depending on their time.

Well, I've got to go to the gym and do my running. I'll catch you guys later!
 
Congrats on the dress, Tash!! That's so wonderful that you can fit into something that makes you feel so amazing. Just last weekend, I came home with a dynamite dress from Goodwill, and I cannot wait until the weather brightens up so I can wear it.

Hey, you'll be in a size 10 in no time. Every-time I feel a pair of jeans getting loose, it only takes me about a week-week and a half to fit into the next smallest size. Us running girls have that advantage darling. The amount of cardio we do is EXTREMELY good for our bodies and helps us reach our goal in a shorter time.

I don't see any problem with your inability to go to your childhood friend's shower. She knows, does she not, that you live so far away? Besides, if she does get perturbed, simply explain to her that the invite came in too short a notice. If she's the type of friend you'd want around your whole life, I'm sure she'll be coridal about it anyway. Personally, I understand time constraints, so I see no problem with your not wanting to drive ten hours round trip. Don't worry, I'm sure she will too. Just send the kid something...maybe a Onesie or a pair of OshKosh's. LOL.

I think it's awesome that you play volleyball. My boys play and it's so much fun to watch them. I was always terrible at the sport though. I could never serve the ball far enough and every time I lobbed the ball back over the net, I ended up whacking someone in the face. Needless to say, my retiring from the sport is sure to have saved the cosmetic world from rhinoplasties. Haha.

Lat Rows 110 lbs 2 sets 8
Abductors 90 lbs 2 sets 8-10
Adductors 90 lbs 3 sets 8-10

I also have volleyball tonight at 6:30 and will probably hit gym for more cardio then with hubby.
 
Thank you so much Rachel, I honestly didn't think the 8 would fit my hips but the 10 was definitely too big in my back area. I can't wait to wear it out once it's warm enough.
 
Today's weight: 155.8 I'm hoping that I'm finally breaking the 155's in and will stay there!

Yesterday's food:

pb&j on wheat (organic pb and low sugar jelly)

chicken tacos
salsa
4 tostito chips

snack:
Klondike slimabear ice cream bar
fiberone oats and pb bar.


After volleyball, the vanpool went through the drive in at Sonic and I soooo wanted to get a Reese's blast, but I contained myself and didn't get anything. I went home and had my 100 cal ice cream bar. YAY!!
