Losing 4 pounds in a months which was 1/3 vacation sounds like a good deal to me :) Can't really help with the water I'm afraid: I simply always have a bottle or glass next to me (it's lunch time and I'm already at 2.5 liters...). Best of luck for your 10/10!

Thank you! I envy the people like you who drink water naturally and consistently. Weight loss aside, it's so important just for health..especially for someone like me who drinks too much wine. I'm going to do better with it!

I guess I don't feel comfortable drinking too much alcohol. My grandfather drank 8 liters of lager A DAY at some point and one of my uncles was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning four times before the time they found him too late :(

Hi guys. I decided to get my hair done as a reward for the 4lbs I've lost this month. I took this picture in my car before I walked into the salon and thought hey, I look pretty good- not too bad. Anyway I'm sitting here now waiting for my appointment. Maybe I will post before and after pictures if I'm brave enough!

So, I have something really great to report. To "normal" people, this is probably small, but given my recent struggle with alcohol, it's HUGE for me!! I've been trying for so long to decrease my drinking. I'd love to quit all together, but for now I am taking it slow. Ok, so here it goes. I haven't had any alcohol in TWO full days. The longest I've gone for a while now is 1 day and even 1 day was a huge struggle. But I haven't had any since Tuesday the 20th! It hasn't been easy, I get the craving as soon as I get in my car to drive home. I've been able to fight it off the past 2 days though! I'm just so sick of being drunk every night. I look around at friends and family and see that most people are able to deal with stress without that crutch and they seem perfectly fine, so why can't I do the same? My goal for now is no alcohol Mon-Thursday and I can drink on the weekend Fri-Sun. If I can do this, it will be a huuuuge positive change for my life. The biggest hurdle is talking myself out of it when the cravings hit. It's literally been an argument in my mind for the last 2 days. It's the worst as soon as I clock out from work and on the drive home and it's also pretty bad once I get home until my chores are done. Once I'm sitting down relaxing and eating dinner, the desire starts to fade. It's still there, but it's not screaming at me. I just need to remeber that when I'm talking myself off the cliff- just make it home to the point where you can relax and the voice should become softer and easier to fight. So yes, that's that. Very pleased!

Onto weight loss.....

Current weight: 126.2

New low weight since I started this journey. Yesterday I definitely didn't eat enough and it's because I ran out of food to actually eat. Dinner was left over boiled shrimp (but not very many) and the small portion that was left of the asparagus from earlier in the week (not very much at all either). My calories ended for the night at 920 which is obviously way too low. Then I realized that my wine is missing from my calories and that's why it's so low! I was still hungry after dinner, but not feverishly hungry to the point where I needed to go out and get more food. There was literally nothing left in the house to eat, so I just drank a large glass of water after dinner and hoped for the best in regards to hunger. Tonight I'm cleaning the house after work and I will have to make sure I buy enough food for dinner tonight. I definitely want to keep my calories at at least 1300 until I get to 115. After that, I can experiment to see what I need to eat for maintenance, but 900 is way too low.

6/21:
Forgot to log my food but, NO ALCOHOL!

6/22:
2 miles on treadmill @ 4mph
1 hardboiled egg & egg white - 100
Grapefruit (1/2) - 50
Tuna, avocado, balsamic vinaigrette - 320
2 Rice cakes with honey butter - 200
Asparagus - 30
Shrimp - 100
Arctic Zone pb - 100
Total: 920 calories
NO ALCOHOL!! *does a dance*

I've still been sucking at drinking enough water, need to do better with that. I think it would help if I bought a reusable water bottle. Definitely going to do that this weekend. Happy Friday!

Very well done on the alcohol front! You'll probably need to come up with another way to relieve stress (I dunno: walks, video games, pillow fights?) to make it easier in the long run but very well done!

You can do this, darling! I'm with LaMa on the replacement front but you'll soon see the benefits of cutting down! All the best of luck to you!

Ps: You're so slim! :)

Thank you Lama!! Yes, you are certainly right. I actually joined a gym yesterday, which I am so excited about. I plan to try out yoga a few times a week after work and maybe some other classes too. I hear yoga is good for stress relief.

So proud of you! Doesnt it feel amazing! That, lovely lady, is the wonderful feeling of CONTROL!
Sunflower, thank you so much. Funny enough, after you commented on one of my earlier posts, I went over to your diary to take a peak and ended up reading your diary from start to end a few weeks ago (shame on me for not leaving a comment!). I was very inspired by how you've managed to cut back your alcohol so drastically and also skip it many days. I meant to tell you that you're a very cool, beautiful, intelligent, funny, and strong girl! I'm still obviously very early in this "control thing" (today is day 3), but yes, it absolutely feels amazing. Waking up in the morning is the best after a good nights sleep knowing you didn't over consume the night before or make any of the questionable choices that come along with it (at least that did for me). So thank you for stopping by, I know you can relate. Go us!!

Correction, today would be day 4 (if I weren't drinking today)- yesterday was day 3.

Weight: 125.6

Good Morning! Lots of great things to report. Where do I start- I made it into the 125s this morning which was my first goal weight. I've been gunning for them for what feels like forever. It's awesome to finally see that number. I hit the 125s briefly in November of last year right before the holidays, but then I was back up to 130 not long after and never got back down. Prior to that, I haven't seen the 125s in about 2 years! I was small 112-117ish lbs for all of my early 20s. After 26ish, the pounds started to very slowly pile on. I'm 31 now.

Next, I joined a gym yesterday (LA Fitness)! It's so funny because I had been thinking about joining a gym for the past month. Currently I have a treadmill at home and that's all I use (but I do use it every single day). I went to LA Fitness' website a few weeks ago and their $89 initiation fee turned me off. So yesterday at work, I walked back into the office from lunch and LA Fitness had a booth setup there, trying to sell memberships. Low and behold, they were offering zero initiation fee for employees of my company. It was clearly meant to be! So of course I took advantage of that opportunity and now I am a member, yaaaay! They have all sorts of classes, a pool, basketball court, etc. I'm hoping to take classes like yoga and kick boxing a couple times a week after work to replace the drinking. It will both keep me busy and relieve stress at the same time. I'm also looking forward to using machines like the eliptical machine and the stair stepper, and the weights too!

What else. Yesterday was day 3 without drinking! Even though my plan is no drink mon-thurs and drink fri-sat, I pushed myself to skip Friday yesterday because I started this plan mid week and I just wanted to prove to myself that I could if I want to. Oddly enough, my urge while driving home from work yesterday on day 3 was eerily quiet. You'd think after a hellishly stressful work week and 2 days without it already, I would have been ready to pop the cork, but no. At one point I had a bit of a hint of a craving, but it was really easy to say no to. I don't expect next week to be easy like yesterday was. It was probably some sort of fluke of my mind, but anyway I'm not complaining.

Today is Saturday and I will be drinking some wine. We're going to the casino so I can play poker and my husband can play slots. Looking forward to a nice fun day. I worked about 55 hours last week and had to bring my laptop home because there's still more work to be done this weekend. That can wait until tomorrow though. I am determined to have some fun today! I also can't wait to see if I notice a difference in my body today when I put on my recreational clothes which are a bit tighter than my work clothes.

I won't be able to make it to LA Fitness today because we have the day booked, but I will definetly be going tomorrow to check it out and get in a good work out (so excited).

Yesterday's food:
1 hb egg and 1 egg white - 100
Grapefruit (1/2) -50
Corn crisps - 120
Protein box (grilled chicken, hummus, raw veggies, pita pocket) - 280
Greek yogurt - 130
Salmon - 90
Steamed broccoli/carrots - 100
Halo top chocolate chip cookie dough - 250
Total: 1,140
