Starting Over

I just got back from running. I ran the first mile in 8 minutes and 19 seconds. Woot!! The full 3 miles took me 28 minutes and 23 seconds so I definitely slowed down a bit after the first one. My HR monitor shows my calories burned at 353. I can't believe I have slacked off so much the past two weeks. Now that the party is over I can concentrate more on my training.

I had about 65 carbs today. My husband cooked some yummy beef quesadillas with low carb tortillas for dinner. Mmmmm! I think I'll have a low carb ice cream pop before bed (6 carbs). Good night all!

I have decided to have a higher carb day today. This was decided when I smelled popcorn and HAD to have some. :) This WHOLE bag of popcorn puts me at 80 carbs today and then I'll have a dinner of about 20 carbs. Maybe cycling the carbs between higher and lower will help the weight continue to come off.

Tonight is weight training. Plus cooking, laundry, playing with Annabelle, light cleaning, and preparation for tomorrow. This alone should burn 300 calories!

Okay I mean it this time. I WILL NOT be weighing myslef for a week. I keep seeing 168 and it makes me super happy but I am getting antsy waiting for it to drop some more. Sean has threatened to hide the scale from me. I have my measurements from 8 months ago and I haven't updated them yet. I will do this in the morning so I can see how many inches I have lost.

Has anybody got any thrilling plans this weekend? I will be shoe shopping with my daughter tomorrow and am having a Bloody Mary Sunday with the girls. Mmmmm!

Amazing morning! I woke up at 5am to a crying baby. My husband had to go in at 2am to fly all day so I put her in bed with me and managed to get her to sleep for a couple more hours. I LOVE cuddling with my daughter in the mornings. We got up at 7 and started our day. I took a shower and let her crawl in with me after I was finished rinsing. I decided to just bathe her in the shower with me. It was so fun watching her stick her face under the spray and giggle hysterically. I dry her off, slather her with lotion and put her in a blue dress and let her play while I brush my teeth and blowdry my hair. We ate breakfast and cuddled on the couch until she fell asleep for her morning nap. I am now lounging next to the window and drinking a huge mug of steaming coffee. It is 60 degrees outside and sunny. Beautiful day! This has been the kind of morning you only see on tv commercials or in the movies. Perfect. Annabelle and I are going to Barnes and Noble to browse the books and drink coffee, then shoe shopping and the park. I am having Bloody Mary Sunday with some girlfriends this afternoon so I need to go make up Amy's Famous Bloody Mary Mix. I have a couple of secret ingredients from my bartending days that make them taste so damn good. I usually make homemade mixers and give them away at Christmas in pretty bottles as gifts.

I have decided to take this weekend off from low carb foods to refeed. I pigged out on gyros, hummus and warm pita bread yesterday. This is my splurge food and I only allow myself to have it every few months. I usually just settle for a greek salad. I haven't ran this weekend but did walk around the zoo yesterday for 3 1/2 hours with a couple friend and their two kids. oday it's the park with the stroller and I'll see how I feel after the Bloody Mary's.

I hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend.

No bloody mary's for me. :( I spent 4 hours trying to find shoes for my daughter. We went to 7 store and nobody had size 3 shoes, not even nike. I ended up having to get her Payless shoes which was a last resort. They cute, just not what I wanted. By the time I got home my husband was back from flying all day and was all whiny because he was tired. I had to nix the Sunday drinking to watch the baby while Sean napped. We had fun so it wasn't a bust.

Today is definitely a friggin Monday. I'm tired and have a damn cold now. I also have to sort 5 copies of a 50-page contract because our damn printer refuses to collate. I'm about to throw the bitch in the river.

Awww, Amy.. I'm sorry your weekend didn't go as planned. I'm surprise you couldn't find shoes for Annabelle. Freaking odd. As for the cold... oooh, girl.. I had my bout with that shit this past week. It went from a head cold to a fever then to chest congestion. Yippy me! Anyways, I hope you start feeling better, girly. Hey... did you find a gown yet?

Did you end up finding a nice dress for the ball that matches your H's outfit?

We also found it nearly impossible to find shoes for the baby around that size. I finally got two gorgeous pairs of sandals at zappos.com for the summer. I looked recently and they have tons of shoes but they didn't have anything I was looking for this time around. Some of the stuff is ridiculously priced at $100 for baby shoes. Okey dokey!

$100 for baby shoes?! Geez!

I have found a couple of dresses that I like and the awesome thing is that they are 75% off! Woot! I'm thinking a black satin halter dress. Plain but elegant. I've got to get my hair did and a facial before the event. I never get dressed up like this so Sean wants me to go all out. The ball is in the hot spot in downtown Little Rock so we are going bar hopping in our formal wear with all our friends after the event. Should be fun! My mother is coming into town to babysit Bella all night so we can have a good time. I am actually startig to look forward to it.

Well, gotta get a shower after my run then I'm going to bed. Talk at ya tomorrow!

Oh, that night out sounds like so much fun. You're going to look great, you toned biatch (all that weight lifting and running must have you looking REALLY tight!). How are you getting your hair did? LOL What of your nails? Oh yeah, and what kind of shoes? I hope they'll be marginally comfortable.

But do check out the site for shoes, they have so many choices and some end up being a good deal (like the lovely sandals we got) though like I said, some of the stuff is priced a tad high for something the child will wear for 2 months .

Thanks B! I'm not sure how I am weraing my hair just yet. It's crazy curly. It actually looks alot like Sarah Jessica Parker's curls, just darker brown and a little shorter now since I cut it off during pregnancy. I'm just getting a simple manicure for my nails. I don't like to have them fake or painted. As for the shoes, they will be comfortable and only 2-3 inches. Probably a black peep toe pump. It has been so long since I have dressed up like this.

I will be checking that site today for more shoes. Bella needs black ones for some of her new fall and winter clothing. It is so much fun having a little girl to shop for!

Yesterday:

1347 calories
62 net carbs
Ran 3.5 miles = 400 calories

TOM is here so I will definitely be staying away from the scale for the next few days.

The shopping for our little girls is just TOO fun! The clothes are so sweet, and its fun to pick the style you want them to go with.

I am absolutely LOVING the peep toe shoes, they are so sexy IMHO. I also wear between 2 and 3 inches, anything else and I'm having a shitty night and I never wear them again. I have to be comfortable while still looking decent. 2 1/2 feels the best to me.

As for the nails, I get a tranculent white, it looks really clean but not fake or overdone. I personally also dont like fake nails or wraps on nails, that's not really my style.
