Starting Over

Can believe some people? This guy is a friggin father. People just don't take being a parent very seriously anymore.

A vacuum cleaner.... a piece of wood... and a detergent bottle....? Damn.... he's like the Mc Gyver of Perversion. Wow.... that's all I can say. HA!

This week I am changing things up a bit with my workout. I usually do all weight training at home so I can spend more time with my daughter. Now that she is going to bed at 7:30 for the night, I will be going back to the gym on base, which is an awesome facility. It has everything you could possibly want and it's free! I will be running 3 nights out of the week and workoug out at the gym 3 nights. I will be doing things differently with each workout than what I've been doing. I think my body is getting into a rut and used to my routine. I am SLOWLY losing the weight and I hope this will help speed it up. (fingers crossed)

Amy, you're so lucky to have that gym to go to. I think switching it up is an excellent plan! Let us know the details of your new workout when you settle on something. I'm getting bored myself at the gym so could use some ideas.

Hey C! I do love the perks of having a husband in the AF. Our base fitness center is HUGE and has everything you could possibly want. Plus all the fitness classes are only $3. They have certified trainers on staff that are free and others that charge. They even have a huge family room with tons of different machines around two large play areas for kids and babies. This lets all of us mommies work out with our kids. I love it.

How was your trip? Are you still in FL?

When we first got married, Sean was in the Army (Counter Intelligene Unit) and he kept saying that I could join the gym on base. Unfortunately, it was a drive and a half away from where we lived and the traffic was HORRIBLE no matter what time of day. I have met a number of military wives and it's amazing how they benefit more than civilian wives, but don't put that shit to good use:

1. Shopping at the NEX. Being given the chance to buy really healthy foods for MUCH cheaper than grocery stores.
2. Gyms that cost little to nothing with great staff support.
3. Dieticians/ nutritionists free.

At first I thought the whole "military wife" being lazy, etc etc was a stereotype, but goddamn.. it was amazing at how many freaking broads fit that to a T! Astonishing. But anyways.. love yas, ms ghetto booty... hahaaa!

I agree with you completely. There is no excuse for a military wife who lives within a reasonable distance from base to be out out shape and unhealthy. The USAF makes it so easy for us to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We have huge cycling clubs that get together weekly. We also have tons of amazing jogging trails on base that are great for training. The grocery selection at the commissary is awesome and way cheaper. We have FREE health insurance so we can get a consultation with a doc anytime. I have NO excuse to not work out other than pure laziness.

I also met my husband's new squadron commander and his wife at the ball and she is absolutely wonderful. She is a personal trainer and a triathlete. I am joining her running club next week. Now that this weight is FINALLY coming off, I feel myself getting more motivated to work even harder. I would love to do a triathlon one of these days. I am buying my husband and I bikes this christmas so we can start cycling. He's grumbling a bit about it but he'll get over it.

My birthday is in two weeks and I'd LOVE to lose 2-4lbs by then. Maybe this change will make it happen!

hey girlie !
your new workout plan sounds good :0)

sometimes i wish my boy would join the military, they offer so many benefits and its an awesome career choice, but i don't deal well with being alone, so don't think i would cope if he got deployed a year.

thanks for stopping in my diary. I know i need to focus hard on eating balanced breakfasts, its just if i oversleep im super rushed to dress and hit the gym. Normally i have a protein bar to grab, but if im out of them... eeeep !

anyways. have a good day :)

The military is good to their people. My husband has spent alot of time deployed but has been home for the past 2 years. His last deployment was in July of 2005. He is an instructor ppilot here right now so this buys him a few years of staying the hell out of the desert. It's nice because he spent 10 months out of each year in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2000-2005. I get him all to myself for awhile. :newangel:

Update: The Ball was alot of fun this past weekend. The food was amazing and we drank enough to float a boat. Needless to say we had a blast.

Mal, I will have pics to you sometime this week of all the hot guys in uniform. ;)

I am soooooooo looking forward to pix, lady. :D Also... before I forget... again, I freaking love that new avi. You two look so damn cute!

Thanks Sheryl. We call that our "prom pose". Lol! I should have pics tomorrow. I gotta show off my man. He was fucking hot in his uniform. Needless to say I didn't let him go to sleep until 3am. Ha!

Burned 639 calories at the gym tonight. I will post details tomorrow. Gonna go have dinner of grilled chicken and veggies. Then maybe a little desert (Sean). ;)

Nighty night!

Amy
