Starting Over

That's so cute about the baby :). Great that she's so into books. The hiking sounds so fun too, you're so lucky you live near some trails.

Have you tried slowly increasing your calories so you're maintaining on a higher calorie range? After you start maintaining on more, you can cut again to lose. You've probably tried this as I remember you had increased, but how did that work out? Did you gain or how long did you do it and what happened. Amy, its not normal to survive and maintain on 1500 calories esp. when including exercise. You need to get to the bottom of this I think and keep trying different things til you figure it out. Not that you seem to have much time to spend on this .

Great job on the event location! Its caring people like you that make the world go round.

Hey Claud! I took a break for two weeks from the low cals. I ate at maintenance (2300-2500) the entire time and didn't gain any, so that's good. I cut them back down a week ago and haven't weighed myself so I don't know if it's working. The doc said it will take 2-4 months for the higher dose os synthroid to be fully effective. He said to be patient and it will get easier once my levels are more towards the middle of "normal" rather than in the "low-normal" range. I am not stressing about it right now. I am a toned and muscular 167lbs so I'm okay with it for now. The bodyfat will come off eventually.

Hey honey,

first off, I'm loving the fact that both you and Sean are nerds. Me and Sean are the same way. haha Also... "Goodnight Moon" is such a sweet story.. the first couple of times. After that.. well, yah...lol I hope the Canstruction event is going well. Is this running only until Thanksgiving or all the way until Christmas? I remember collecting food cans/ donations for years when my mom was a part of the Can Food Drive California during the holidays when she was working in real estate.

As for your weight loss, if I wasn't doing the Christmas Challenge, I'd probably weigh myself once a month also. I'm not a big fan of those damn scales. Well, wishing you, Sean and baby a wonderful week, doll.

PS I can't email this damn video via
my phone. Sprint fucked up my service
so now I need to get a new cellphone. It's
ridiculous.

Hey Sexy Lady! The canstruction event is actually in January and February, it just takes this long to plan. I am having to round up schools for the competition, find and book celebrity judges, get donations from local businesses and politicians, get other architects to volunteer their time with the kids, etc. I am also the graphic designer for all the promotional items and information booklets. Needless to say, I'm friggin exhausted. Mentally.

Goodnight Moon is painful after the 10th time. As is "Guess How Much I Love You?" My daughter just looks too damn cute when she brings the book to me. I can't say no. :)

How sweet! When I was a baby,my parents were pretty poor and gave me books to play with. At 8 months old, I'd sit in a pile of books and pretend to read them. I'm currently trying to read 4 books at a time and it isn't working for me, LOL!!

I really hope your thyroid issues clear up and you can drop some more weight without struggling so much! My problem is just self control :( Have a great Tuesday!

Hey There!!!

I loved reading to my sons, we did that religiously every night before bed. I tell you what years later when finally they could read to me and visa-versa those big Harry Potter books came out and well, we ENJOYED every single one!! Plus, we went and saw those movies together as well. I was their Cub Scout leader, so hiking we did a LOT of, need I say more. LOL LOL I miss those days.

I think it's wonderful you have a big event planned, and your obtaining all those donations, I just LOVE that stuff!! I used to put Thanksgiving boxes together and our troop would give them out to families who couldn't afford a dinner. I also grab several angels off the giving tree during Christmas and get tons of stuff, I'm all about bringing unity and help to our fellow families.

Did you see last weekends "Extreme Home Makeover"?? It was about a single dad raising 5 boys in a really bad neighborhood, I cried during the ENTIRE SHOW! I just can't watch those, they tear me up!!! That family is AWESOME! the dad is a good role model for his sons, it was incredible. I give YOU KUDOS for giving back to your community, WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!!!

HUGS!
Kim

Thanks CG and MLB!!

My husband and I put a huge emphasis on education so we are always trying to find new and exciting ways for our kids to learn.

Thanks for the kind words MLB. I have found that charity work is a passion of mine. I have been doing them for years and have just recently made my way into the big ones here in Little Rock. I support so many causes that by the end of the year I am just exhausted. If it isn't breast cancer then it's hunger, diabetes, leukemia, our troops overseas, etc. They keep me very busy. I hope my children will learn to be kind and generous and there's no better way to show them than through our actions.

Wow Amy, you sound like you could do really well in being a professional events planner. Ever considered that for a career?

That's amazing that you were able to eat so much more and not gain. A very good sign. I'll look forward to your weight report in a month ha ha. Will hope for the best but I'm glad you're happy with where you're at. That's an important place to be. As for me, not so much! Ha ha.

TTYL girl!

HAHAHA We chit-chatted so much in my diary, and you didn't post anything today, so hmmmmmm what to say??? HOW ABOUT HAVE A FANTASTIC EVENING, I'll be checking in on you tomorrow!
HUGS!

All in all, you're amazing, Amy. Since I first met you, you've been heading charity events. This Canstruction event sounds awesome. I can just imagine the amount of work placed into all of this. I'm sure you'll also come up with a nifty webpage to advertise the following, which I would love to check out and send to friends up in Arkansas. Damn... you're a hardworking woman and a busy mommy on that end. Kudos to you, doll!

You ladies are too damn sweet. I appreciate your compliments, I truly do. I think the difference with people who do charitable work is that some of us do it because we really want to make a difference and some do it to give themselves a pat on the back. I have met a few people who would help with some charities just to fill a bullet on their damn resume. Pathetic.

I'm sure some of can agree that there are some days that make you sick to your stomach at how messed up the world is. The world that our kids are growing up in. It's disgusting. Pedophiles disgust me the worst. God help any person who tries to hurt my daughter. The torture and mutilation that sick fucker would incur would make a mortician barf.

AMEN SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!! :coolgleamA:

In my opinion, who cares about the resume, I like being asked to do things, because other people have referred me, and it's all word of mouth. Anybody can fancy up a resume!! :smilielol5: But when other people say good, positive things about you, that's what counts! :seeya:

I'm sure you have people that do that quite often for you, as I'm totally impressed at what you do, and for others. You have a good soul!

I agree. I live in a bubble, though....SC area is pretty rich and there are lots of resources for women and children. I feel like Sidhartha sometimes

My H gets home today!! Woot! I pick him up at the airport at noon then we are going for a REAL lunch date. No baby, no friends, no co-workers. I can't wait! We are goingto this amazing restaurant called Brave New Restaurant (bravenewrestaurant.com). Amazing food!

I will be weighing in at the gym in the morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the refeed worked.

Sean and I have a busy weekend. Gym in the morning, then groceries, then a birthday party for one of Bella's little friends, then a 30th birthday party for one of my girlfriends. Good mexican food and margaritas. I will probably get an extra hour at the gym and keep my calories low during the day to allow for a little splurging tomorrow night. Time to unwind! Sunday we will be going to Pinnacle Mountain for a half day hike. Bella loves to hike and the weather will be nice and cool so it should be fun. I am going to have to schedule a few hours of "Mommy and Daddy time" to make up for the week Sean has been gone. Damn I missed him!
