those are totally cool. I love the speed laces. those glasses look great and they have the frames tat wont collect a puddle. VERY nice in deed.

Workouts are going great. my log is current.
The squats i did on Friday with my honey and the extended mountain bike trip with TJ yesterday, made my quads and glutz too sore. A long run seems like a bad idea, considering the training schedule for "week 10" next week.

Good luck on the adventure race. Tell more about it, will you.

Today was great. Spin class was unbelievably sweaty. I think I lost all the fluid in my body in one class. I pushed it hard. I went from there to 20 min of medium intensity running before swim class. Legs felt great, no problems going from such a hard cycle to running. Feeling really strong lately.

Later I went with my teammate to kayak. That was pretty comical. Inflatable kayaks suck. We got a great core workout...because we laughed our butts off:yelrotflmao:eek:ther than that my wrist just really hurts now, but it was fun anyway.

I'm eating super clean this week. Cravings are gone with the monthly torture so its a good time to revamp the diet.

To be absolutely honest I did take some pictures but I'm not happy with them, since they show the effects of going out three times a week (two of which involve beer). So I will probably wait until I have some real progress to show.

DUDE!!! As much as you post, and as high of regard as I, along with others, hold you in, I would like to ask you to alter this element of you routine. 2 - 3 times a week!!! Please.....

My computer is super slooowww today so I'm not hanging here long. I had to teach lessons this morning and then rush to a dentist appt. MAN I hate those. My mouth hurts. But I have no cavities STILL. I'm scared of fillings so its really good I've never had to have them done :D She did say my gums are receeding on my "canine" teeth and I had to think that must be so I can bare my teeth better when I'm racing and look meaner :D
All in all it was fine, it just used up my entire morning that I could workout and that kinda bummed me. I more than made up for it during the weekend-that I normally take off-but still. How do people who don't work out stand it? My body is in total "go" mode right now and I have to stay home. lol. ahhhh!!!
Its all good. I'll just go eat. hahaha

I get what you're sayin' - just have to figure out how to do both so one doesn't interfere too much with the other.

Besides...I just got my pearly whites cleaned today :)

I made it to the gym to swim. I took my 4 year old dtr swimmin after I did. shes a fish.

500 free warm up
200 back kick alternate flutter kick and fly on back
200 backstroke-work turns and streamlines
8x50 pace @ .55 (held .35-.37)
4x100 pace @ 1:40 (held 1:22-23)
8x25 butterfly fast tempo
12x50 hypoxic breathing (by 50's breath every: 2,3,4,5,6,7,7,6,5,4,3,2)
150 front skulling
150 alternate head up freestyle with finish skulling
200 alternate breast with fly kick/freestyle fast
3000yds

I felt strong but it was hard cause I went pretty much right after lunch so the first half it was harder to breathe. There is a reason our mothers told us to wait 30 min after eating to swim! Lunch wasn't heavy so it burned up pretty quick. Hypoxic breathing was challenging at the "7" but otherwise really fun. I have my class to sets like that a lot, builds lung capacity. I was happy with my paced swims. For not getting in much, or doing many weights, I'm doing okay holding onto my swim fitness.

what I meant to say is- that work out is soo impressive to a new swimmer like me it is hard to believe my swim could get that much better!

question... on back stroke I get panicky as I approach. Can you give me any hints to help with that?

Swim and spin tonight again.... my crotch is sore. I need biking shorts. Do you use those triathlon shorts? $100!!!! holy cow!

Biking I already do. Running most likely happen (knees get real mad at me when I run)

BUTT-hahaha you know what else I realized? I did that olympic length swim, with pockets!! drag in the swim! FAG shorts rule!! hahaha

FF-it takes a lot to get me in a "bad mood" no worries...and even then.. I seem to be just inches away from full on humor. My son knows how to get me there the best. I'll be scolding him for something and he gives me this "look", which will weaken me (my buddy is totally cute and handsom)...and then as I'm still lecturing for whatever, he makes some sort of totally stupidly hilarious face (he always has a new one) and then I crack and I'm laughing. ERRR. :rolleyes: whatcha gonna do

Backstroke: As you pass under the flags (you do have flags correct?) or once you hit the solid color on the lane lines start counting your strokes. Do this with a speed you most frequent to get a more accurate number. You should be "around" the same number each time. Just get into a habit of counting when you're on your back:) next you should learn backstroke flip turns. those are easy, fun and fast.

I saw you got some already...I don't use them, although I borrowed some for my last tri just so my transitions would be faster. I guess I've gotten *used* to the crotch issue or something but I remember at the beginning that was a huge problem. It gets better over time.. Tri shorts are just a good idea anyway, saves time...and don't worry, everyone looks gay together :D good times, good times
