Sparrows Experiment

The surprise, was a surprise..and I'm sure all you who have ever tried to pull off a surprise party can agree that it usually doesn't end up a surprise! My husband was indeed in the dark until he showed up. Success :D

About 60 people showed up on one of the hottest days we've had this year. It was 110 out there that day! HOT but fun.

I did end up being a piggie and eating cake and whatever else was there.

Spent the day at the lake yesterday wakeboarding. That is so hard to me. I'm sure I'd be a terrible snow boarder too. I got up but it is not nearly as easy or fun as regular skis. I felt like I couldn't do anything but just be towed because I was afraid of falling. With skis at least I can do little jumps and play with the wake of the boat. I got burned, which I hardly ever do becaue my skin is so used to the sun...and I'm sore from it all.

Today I'm 132 again. I'm sure my weekend of splurge wasn't the best thing to do. I decided I'll do some moderate cardio if I'm up to it but no weights for 2 weeks and keep a clean diet.
I did 60 min on the eliptical. I can always tell when I have an abundance of carbs in my system cause I sweat way more like I'm getting rid of the excess water or something. Hard to explain but its always like that! When I'm eating right I don't. I was a fountain today. gross.

break: big handful of almonds
lunch: protein shake with peanut butter

I'm finding it hard to eat normal in the summer. Its so hot and I feel so sick if I have to be out in it and my stomach is full. I do much better with shakes which keep my temp regular in the heat and digest quickly. I'm sure its not the best nutritional plan but I feel like its gotta work for now. I'd rather do it than feel sick and grumpy.

hey girl I was wondering where you were!

Don't trip on it, it'll get better just let the muscles rest for Christ's sake...seriously even the cardio just stay at moderate or below not vigorous!! LOL wakeboarding sounds fun ;)

I second that. Don't worry about not eating alot during the summer unless you need to depending on your workout and cardio. Just make sure you get plenty of liquids.

so I'm now realizing how dependent I'd gotten on weights. I'm going through withdrawl! I go to the gym and just stare longingly at them. haha. Plus I miss all my workout buddies. You know..the people who are ALWAYS at the gym the same time you are doing the same things you are but you hardly talk. You just nod that "knowing" nod like "hi there, yeah painful huh? good job, rock on..." haha.

I've done cardio although I said I'd lay off. I can't help it. For my SANITY i need it. I'm the worlds grumpiest mom without it. How do those non-exercising moms survive their world? I can only imagine the wrath their kids must endure. Maybe those moms don't even know what their missing!
My workouts feel so half done only going to the gym to do cardio and leaving. Plus I'm deathly afraid I'm UNdoing all I've done by burning up muscle but I'm keeping my protein high and carbs a little higher than normal too.
I still feel like I can't get past the 1200-1300 cal threshold or I gain weight SO easy and I just can't take that anymore. I feel like a cow!

Anyway, today is a day off. completely off...and I'm SOOO tired I think I could sleep it away.

I have major PMS today and I'm in total pain. Seems like these monthly meetings come way too soon. :(

Don't worry, a short break is not going to make you lose muscle. It would take a few weeks.
I know what you mean about not being able to take a real break from cardio. Moving is what I do, I can't sit still! I've got to do cardio for my sanity too!

OK another day. Lets do it right.
Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 4 egg whites, 1 egg
lunch: 1/2 c oatmeal, 2 scoop whey, 1 c soy milk, 1 apple (1 T nat. pb)
snack: celery, 2 T natty butter (1 fit n light yogurt)
dinner: 1/2 c rice, 2 c broccoli, 1 chicken breast, 1 T olive oil to stir fry the broccoli and chicken
water water water water 70+oz

This is 1350 without the items in () but if I can get those in without hurling it'll be around 1500..which would be fantastic.
I'm going on a walk today. that'll be fantastic too. Its finally not a thousand degrees today.

Looks good !! :)

Hope it really is OK.

I'm through snack and stuffed to my gills. I never have food with protein shakes. that was overkill. I ended up adding the pb. heck, why not.

My body is feeling way better lately. I feel pretty much recouperated. I'll ride out the week and then prob. start back next Monday. I'll work hard to bump cals up while I'm still laying low so that when I start exercising again it won't be too hard to keep them there or maybe, possibly go even higher. I've stalled at a certain number too long. I remember at the beginning of doing this being VERY uncomfortable physically eating so much. I was full, like very full allllll of the time. But I didn't gain weight at the beginning at all. I even lost some. It was when I got further into strength training that I was gaining weight, and I'm sure that had to do with my muscle gains. Anyway, so I guess I'm sort of expecting and looking for that uncomfortable feeling again (like how I feel RIGHT NOW) to know I'm doing things right. and I really hope my weight stays steady.

"She" how are you doing with your progress?
jpc you should post your workouts or diet sometime! You are so mysterious!...also...are you being affected by the insane rain in your neck of the woods?

Progress is ok. My weight is holding at the same number, but not to worried about it. I'll get back into the routine again. It'll take a day or too.

Good day. I ended up eating everything but the yogurt so it was 1450 cals. not too shabby. I swam this evening for about an hour. slow easy but nice swimming. wasn't looking for exercise, I was looking for relief. its darn hot, at least I'm not out on a pool deck. I cannot believe I did that for so long.

I'm not mysterious, I'm just your average Joe, well average Jim. Yeah it rained like crazy for a couple of days, We have flooding all around where I am, but luckily I have not been flooded. I must be on high ground

ok average Jim

but you still are...no pictures, no posting of workouts, no posting of diet, no posting of...anything. cept that you live in Penn. where its flooding...

But you have great wisdom in the fitness and diet arena. How did you come about that?

ok so I believe you...but you still are very knowledgeable so....tell us anything. Tell us how you know so much. Or what your goals are, or what you ate for breakfast....or what your favorite cartoon is. :D
